God damn all these crashes. I swear every fifth time I tab out of the game I get a crash. Never again will I tab out without quick saving first.

That's what the second computer is for. ;-)

(PC desktop for games, Macbook Pro for everything else here.)

Edit:

Last night I reached level 9 with my Nord warrior (named Thor, complete with hammer) and, holy shit the difficulty level ramped up like crazy. I was supposed to retrieve some kind of artifact for a priestess, so when I reach the destination, I'm jumped by these witches. After I dispatch them, some harpy creature blasts me with fireballs. I must have died at least 15 times before I beat her. I remember Oblivion had similar level scaling problems as well. I really hope this isn't the case with Skyrim.

That's not scaling: That's an area with a powerful enemy.

Are same sex marriages allowed anywhere in the game? I am playing female high Elf and don't want a man touching me.

My friend's male khajiit married a male blacksmith last night. Murdered him soon after, as well.

For me, if I tab out, I click on elder scrolls and it'll try to jump back to the game but won't. So I tab to another application, then back to elder scrolls and its fine. Could be different for me though, i guess.

Exact same with me.

Nop, is simply that you choosed a quest that was of a higher level. Is safer to go in the start through main plots or companion plots. Some of the side plots that you find in cities are medium level.

In Oblivion they lived with you, so it was always just as hard...

It's not as bad in Skyrim; theres shit you can't touch until you level up (like giants), which is proper.

Unless you're complaining about not being able to kill the harpy at level 9. You're low level so you shouldn't be able to kill harpies. In this case, scaling isn't the problem; your modern day "easy as fuck" gaming mentality is complaining.

Yeah, tab it twice and it comes back. Annoying, but no crashes so far due to tabbing

This was the quest where you had to retrieve the dagger? If so I also got owned several times. Her fireballs were insane.

I was around that level when I did it. I had Lydia with me (and my horse, who tried to help, haha) and I was able to take them out. But I was lucky, I didn't see a harpy.

So where's the nicest house you can buy in the game? There are more houses than just in Whiterun, right? I can't get the stupid Jarl in Riften to give me a title and let me buy a home.

The best way to use Lydia for me is for when I need to go to a new dungeon - which usually means fast traveling to the closest discovered area and walking to it. I usually grab her from Whiterun and drag her with me. On the way to the dungeon you can bet I'll collect a shit ton of alchemy ingredients, kill half a dozen deers and wolves, fight 3 or 4 bandits/trolls/etc, and maybe even run into a dragon. When I finally get to the entrance of the dungeon I load her ass up with absolutely everything we've collected (usually a few dozen pounds of crap) and send her home, clear out the dungeon, and then meet her back at the house.

She's usually quite helpful in that regard.

Anyone know the name of the song that plays when you battle someone? Has a voice of a woman

Also, it's first heard when the dragon shows up to wreck havoc at Helgen

There is one and is the one that has the quest item. There are the regular mages that spawn low level fire and ice, and in the top of the hill the crow witch that spawn a very dangerous fireballs. I was able to kill her with a lot of luck, at 12, killing the mages one by one and rushing the witch and smashing melee attacks.

Nagravens are an absolute bitch to fight. I had to fight one of those assholes + two ice wraiths last night. I only won because one of the wraiths fell off the cliff I was fighting them on.

I'm the opposite. I'm playing a male Dunmer, and I'm hoping I can find a nice strong Nord with an open mind to live with me in my dingy house in Whiterun.

Sounds like the making of a good sitcom.

I think that launching a powerattack from a sprint will do extra damage and often result in an instant finishing move against common foes. I did it like 5 times in a row against some bandits with a 2hander.

This game is so great.

Ah, I didn't know that was a harpy. I thought Hargraven was a witch's name or something. Yeah, she was pretty tough, I rushed her with sparks and a war axe, pausing to use potions to heal and restore magic when needed.

Lydia is starting to get on my nerves.

We exited a cave, and she says 'oh look, a cave! wonder what's inside?' -- we just went in there dummy.

Then there's walking with her outside, she gets lost so easily. If I'm navigating mountains or taking shortcuts, she's nowhere to be found so I have to end up reloading.

Just wait 1 hour and she'll be there.

|OT2| Don't worry, there's plenty of dragons in the sea

When I
turned into a werewolf for the first time
, I was messing around with the controller to check if I had new skills and used some spell that scared Lydia. She turned hostile and started running away from me. Then, because of the quest, I was teleported to another area and now Lydia is gone.

I checked Dragonreach and she's not there. Have I lost my sweet Lydia forever?

Damn, now I feel kinda bad :(

The Mistwatch quest. I had to look for Christer's wife Fjola, who he thought was kidnapped. Turned out she was the bandit leader. She told me to tell him to go away but she was the bandit leader after all so I killed her. I went back to him and told him she attacked me and I killed her. He was furious and started attacking me. He was just a gentle soul, all I had to use was fire breath and he was dead. It's the first time I've killed an innocent. Feels bad, man.

Also where can I get soul gems and what's the best way to fill them?

If you haven't, there's a LOT of gems lying around in the College in Winterhold. Besides that, check the spell vendors and the odds-and-ends vendors (i.e., the General stores). I tend to just buy the Petty to Common Soul Gems pre-filled if this is for grinding skill (or making money, if you have the Banish enchantment).

As for filling them ... dunno. Make a weapon that casts Soul Trap and just take it with you when you go out killing things. If you've gotten the
Black Star
, do the same except go out killing Humans; every time it fills up, just use it to recharge the weapon ... if your goal is grinding skill level, anyway.

make sure the pudding isn't too soggy but that just ruins everything
lol... how do I get these arrows out of my face? There's been three arrows in my face for the last few hours. haha

but now it's getting annoying.

So, how many "assaults" have you guys got?

I've been trying to play a Mr. Lawful Goodguy and yet I've still accidentally accrued around eight assaults.

I have 0, but I haven't been out to the woods with Lydia yet.

Bring up the game menu and under status (or whetever) select "Crime". It will list the number of times you've "assaulted" someone. An assault is when you attack an NPC without provocation... however I discovered that this is actually bugged and that killing some NPCs (some Necromancers for example) can count as assaults even if they attack you first.

I was just messing around the other night after saving, decided to just start killing everyone. Basically dropped Frenzy bombs all over Dragonsreach and had a massive brawl. I noticed that none of the main quest NPCs would die though - very similar to companions they would just kneel for a little while and stand back up. If I administer an arrow with lingering poison though can I kill them? Simply curious :)

Any word on transferring saves on PS3?

I heard that you can but it won't let you save when you bring it elsewhere, is this the case? If so, any way around it?

Yeah I've managed to kill 3 companions so far by accident, I think it's either because of bleeding damage from my axe or from the absorb health enchant.

Did I just bypass a part of
A Night to Remember? I spoke to Ysolda in Whiterun who said I was supposed to be getting married with someone. So she asked me to fetch the ring from Witchmist Grove. I went there, a nasty Hargraven named Moira told me that we were going to consumate our love. I had to kill her and take back the wedding ring. I did all this without seeking out Sam in Rorikstead because I haven't been there yet. It says I have spoken to Sam but I assume when I speak to Sam there will be more to add to the quest such as fixing the staff?

ARGH. I hate hate hate escort quests. I'm the solo sneak assassin damn it. I pickpocketed the key but nuuu he's right there next to me. Ah well... good thing I got that 20% better archery gauntlets to make up for it. I just gotta keep him alive apparently.
