Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
This is the full list of games available on the service in Asia.
It's missing the PS3 games because they don't have streaming available. It's possible that other territories will get a different set of games / more games, but it's looking like these 12 games are it for now if you're a fan of PS1 emulation.

Well, I'll stick to the Extra tier, it'll more than enough for me. I wouldn't play any of these classics games and I guess the games that will be given on Essential won't be that good.

Doesn't seem to be the case. There's a ton of stuff missing in the list. I assume they add more games to the list tomorrow once it releases, or maybe they'll add more each week as it keeps releasing in more countries.
I counted 268 unique games + 8 games of the Plus Collection not already included in the Extra tier for PS4 users.
They were supposed to be 700+ games at launch.
Many of the missing ones are PS3 games since these countries don't have cloud gaming, but the retro games were going to be "up to 340 games". Even if around 300 of the missing ones are PS3 the numbers wouldn't match.

If I get a Ps5 this year I'm probably in for the "extra" tier for a year as the Ps5 games alone make up for the extra $40.
But overall this isn't very impressive.
No those are only for the new "Extra" ($100/year) and "Premium" ($120/year) tiers.
The old regular Ps+ is now the "Essential" tier which still costs the same as before and includes the same perks and benefits (online play, 2-3 free games every month, cloud saves, etc) but doesn't get access to the expanded list

The PS1 classics list is leaving a lot left to be desired.
Disappointing.
Hopefully the US list is much much larger and they let you buy individually, depending on how solid the emulation and filter/scaling is, I'll probably pick up a few PS1 games for my PS4.

The last one is a real out-of-the-way slap. As an example, TLoU 1 remaster is .. yes .. a remaster of a PS3 game originally .. but it's a native PS4 SKU and should be treated as such.

I don't doubt there is some value here, to upgrade from normal Plus to Extra to get some of these games that are still quite decent price to buy on their own is very good. But the delivery and execution of this service is so messy. The lists have games that double up, we are uncertain of how this is going to work, how long some of these titles will remain on there before being taken off and substituted with crappy ones like we get in free monthly Plus games. You're also locked in for a year. It's just not as attractive as gamepass except for the fact that you have some really good 1st party bangers. But for the average PlayStation gamer that has already played most of these titles, its a little average. Also, Sony are not doing this for the consumer, it's purely because they are trying to compete with gamepass because it has gained big momentum, otherwise Sony would not give a fuck.

At launch there were supposed to be over 700 games, being up to 340 of them "retro". Even if you add almost 300 PS3 games they would be very far of the over 700 games. I assume they'll add more later today, or the following weeks once they release it in each one of the other regions.
Seeing how PS2 classics run on PS4 and especially PS5 I'm not surprised. I couldn't play these games like that.
GTA trilogy is a stutter fest because they couldn't be arsed to patch the PAL version properly. It runs much smoother on original hardware.
