Have anyone got a issue on the quarry been too dark even on the max brightness settings
I'm currently running off a Sony bravia xr a80j and no matter how bright I put the settings the game is no better

Too dark
This is the ps5 version of the game

Same. It looks either washed out or too dark.

I found a fix
After getting in touch with 2k support they could not find the bug
So I reset the the ps5 with default reset not factory. It works
It's also worth resetting tv with factory settings spec if you are running a Sony bravia xr series

Yeah, the contrast levels are all over the place in this game. What mostly worked for me was to just bump up the black level setting one tick on my Sony Bravia X85J, and boost the in-game HDR peak level to like 80.

It seems like the HDR screen brightness setting in the game doesn't actually do anything. Only the UI brightness and the HDR peak level settings do. Meh....maybe that will get patched later, who knows.

But then again, The Dark Anthology games seemed flaky in HDR too (well, the first two anyway, House of Ashes seemed OK). I just ended up playing them in SDR to avoid the weirdness. I don't think they ever patched them for the wonky HDR issues though, so not really expecting them to do anything about it in The Quarry either. Thing is, The Quarry doesn't give you an in-game choice to play in SDR, so you'd have to change that at the console and/or TV level, which I really don't want to hassle with just for one game. Sigh.....first world problems....

These TVs have IPS panels in most sizes (50" and maybe 43" is VA) so they will naturally crush blacks, on top of the game having intentionally crushed blacks anyway, its how they want it to look, bumping your digital black level is just going to raise the blacks and give no more detail in them if its intentionally like that. Until Dawn doesn't have HDR and if you play in the PS5 HDR container shite mode it just makes the situation even worse.

I know money is a factor but if you want a proper/useable HDR experience then you need a FALD LCD or OLED, its not even that much more for the 9 series LCDs from Sony since their pricing structure is so compressed/fucked. Give your Uncle Kuranghi a PM next time you want to buy a TV and I'll keep you right, the marketing of "HDR"-capable TVs is very disengenuous.

Speaking to the end of your comment, can't you just use the PS5s "HDR on when needed" mode?

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Yeah it looks washed out, I'm using FALD TV
I mean blacks are black and colours pop etc
But it does seem to have a grey haze most of the time so I imagine that's how it was designed.
Complete opposite to Until Dawn
But I haven't tried it without HDR yet so maybe it just a shitty implementation.

Open Command Prompt, type “format c: /fs:ntfs” and hit “Enter”

It gets you every porn site login with lifetime memberships.

All while not having a 60 fps option and charging $70 ...yikes

One thing I've sadly learned is that there are some companies who will never fix their games issues and that the best predictor of that is their previous games.

Patch after patch comes out where I'm hoping certain things get fixed, such as Hitman 3's broken HDR or Dying Light 2 and the pathetic 1080/60 resolution but these studios really don't give a shit and so it never gets fixed.
