This goes against what I have heard. The next bf game is mobile. After that there is nothing for a while. Ripple Effect and the new Seattle studio are providing live service support for 2042 for at least a year. while what is left of DICE work on engine and bugs. The project that Ripple Effect is working on is still early days according to my source. I suppose it could be a hero shooter but he made it seem like it was "story focused".

They have announce that BF is now a connected universe with 2042 and its characters at its core. Rumor is 1 of the games being made is a prequel with a single player staring specialists that explains how the world got so fucked.

My source is super cagey but he did tell me a while back that EA desperately wants a "Connected Universe" with multiples games linked together. They hope to make battlefield what Tom Clancy games should have been. My source was dubious about success because he that BF management was lacking. This was before Zampella was given control.
