I never liked the sequels to this franchise. Soul Reaver was such a disappointment, and radical departure, from Blood Omen, and Raziel wasn't even in the same league as Kain. I remember being so hyped for the sequel, now on the Dreamcast, which back then was a powerhouse of a console. CD ran with the bad ending of Blood Omen, which could've provided another great adventure with Kain, but no, they fucked it up with mediocre story telling, weak characters and boring 3D platforming. What a fucking waste. Didn't even bother with the rest of the franchise after that turd.

Same! I never understood why people loved those games. I hope that if there is a reboot, they keep Kain as the lead in the sequels. It reminds me of how different I felt RE4 was and it is also why I disliked it, yet legions of fans loved it.

GOTHAM KNIGHTS. and im enjoying it for the most part. even tho it stutters and is wonky some times. Theres just a certain charm to it. With the loop of going out at night, stopping crimes. Then going back to the Belfry during the daytime. Crafting new weapons and suits. and switching characters.

SESSION. this is my GOTY rn. another game thats kinda wonky. And i think it was made by like 9 ppl so its not exactly a content/feature rich experience. And feels like it was made by a small team. but for pure gameplay goodness its the best skateboarding game i've played. I haven't touched the Tony Hawk remaster or Skate 3 since i've started playing this. Its just relaxing to jump in and try to land a specific trick in a specific skate spot for an hour. Its infuriating and relaxing at the same time.

I love Bayonetta, and yet it depresses to know I'll never be that good.
I can't memorise combos etc.

Recently completed Resi Village for the 4th time. I really like it but I'm not a fan of the factory section. Also completed Phantasmagoria which I bloody love.

Tried out Overwatch 2 for a couple of hours. Not a fan really. Something just feels...off and I can't put my finger on it. Getting too old for these kinda games anyway. Just feel grumpy after playing. Uninstalled and started Silent Hill. I've been meaning to sit down and finish this for years. I got stuck when I was a kid in the school with the piano puzzle. I'm a moron and could never figure it out. Be interesting to see if the puzzle is too much for me now...probably is!

Until god of war play with something else. In Greek (χείρα= xira, it means hand and χήρα= xira which means widowed) they written differently but the pronunciation is the same. So i play the Xira with the 5 children.

Will likely beat The Quarry tonight. It's been a fun game for the Halloween season and my wife has had a great time watching me play/helping with decisions. The story is very cookie cutter and tropey, but it all just kinda works for a game with this type of vibe.

Next up is Persona 5 Royal. This game has alluded me over the years, but it looks like it's finally time to dive in via Game Pass.

Man, I tried the rollback beta of Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2 and man, I had a lot of mixed results, hopefully whoever do the netcode can fix it to be more stable.

Yeah, I was pretty bad at the game when I first started as well. But with time, a lot of stuff helps you to achieve a Pure Plat. Accessories like Pulley's Butterfly (allows you to be invunerable for a couple of hits) and Moon of Mahaa-Kalaa (a parry that can give you more Witch Time if you perfect parry) gives an extra edge against enemies like Kinships or Joys. Also the Killgore combo helps you rack up easy combo points as well. But still a lot of this stuff comes with time, practice and knowing enemy behavior patterns.

Also I think the second game is easier in this regard as well. It has a lot more scummy tactics that you can exploit.

Edit such as this cheesy shit:

GT7 is still in the constant rotation, almost daily when I can. Such engaging and fun gameplay. Best ever in this series.

The Medium as well for spooky season. Just made it to the ruins last night after they creepy Maw chase.

Digging it’s atmosphere, great sound/music and the mixture of PnC adventure and old school survival horror. Solid 7.5 so far to me.

Might do Call of Cthulhu after or maybe the Outlast series until GoWR launch.

I have quite a few games on rotation at present.

I will have a few races on GT7 or Grid Legends, or a few games of Warzone or Fortnite, but as far as more involved story driven experience, I'm working through Cyberpunk and Guardians of The Galaxy, and have maybe an hour left in Ghost of Tsushima.

Deathloop on game pass or finishing Returnal will probably be after that, and then I'm waiting for MW2 multiplayer and GoW Ragnarok.

Toree 3D is $1 on Switch. Japanese indie game.

Totally worth it. Just super simple old school 3d platforming. Very bare bones but functional enough to be fun.

Vanquish- Glad to say I changed my mind on this one and it finally clicked! :]
Assassin's Creed Origins- I'm a sucker for Ancient Egypt so this game is delivering alot so far :]
Sonic and Knuckles collection with mods- Amazing way to add new life into this childhood classic! Adding stuff like the drop dash into Sonic 3 and Knuckles and the option to switch up music to the OG Genesis version and other mods is incredible :]

Modern Warfare 2 - finished the campaign on Saturday
Shadow of Mordor - just started and digging the atmosphere
Was campaign better than MW2019 or more of the same? I liked the MW2019 campaign so hoping for more of the same or better and slightly longer.

Some high points, like a great AC-130 scenario and a few neat missions, but some really bizarre forced stealth and crafting missions that seem out of place. Not better, but fun enough.

Farah Karim is in it for one whole mission. She basically rides a dirt bike around.

No offence but I can't understand people still playing Destiny 2.. It's so grindy and boring to me.

I'm also ready to dive into MWII too.
None taken. I just enjoy the gunplay, rpg grind and the armor/gun porn. The game has its fair share of issue: repetitive, drip-fed content etc. but it also still has pretty good support through the next year or so, has some solid campaigns to run through, and the online multiplayer is tight.

No More Heroes 3:

finished the story last night, Suda is as wild and unpredictable as ever, one of the few people designing games that genuinely have a signature, when you're playing a Suda game you *know* it's a Suda game, much like Kojima. Shame he sold out to the Chinese, I've been there day 1 for all of his games since Killer 7 but this might be my last.

Uncharted - Nathan Drake Collection:

I haven't played these titles since they originally released, amazed by how gorgeous UC1 still is. 60 FPS is a revelation, I'm going to try to finish the trilogy before Ragnarok drops, enjoying the trip down memory lane and being back with my boys Drake and Sully.

Diablo on PC - was feeling nostalgic. Click click click click click click click click.

Metroid Prime on Dolphin - bought this about 15 years ago and never touched it. Having recently finished Dread and largely enjoying it, with some caveats, thought I'd test out a new new install of Ubuntu / Dolphin with Prime as it seems to enjoy universal praise. What. A. Game. Definitely my favorite in the series by some distance, even enjoying the somewhat idiosyncratic Gamecube controls.

Wipeout Omega Collection
on PS5 - great tracks, great visuals, great handling, huge value. Makes me sad that the series seems to be largely dormant now.

Once Metroid Prime is done I'll move onto Death Stranding Directors Cut - such an intriguing game that seems right up my alley.

I know this is not popular here but I've been playing some Be a Pro with a goalie in NHL 23.
As a french canadian I have to play every other year otherwise the government revokes my poutine privileges.

After some practice I manage to be pretty decent at semi-pro difficulty on 5 minute periods.
My strategy is to be agressive and challenge the shooters.
The game still fucks you in the ass without a courtesy spit sometimes as I've had 3 goals against me that looked like something out of a cartoon.

At least I'm having fun now and not stressed out like a squirrel foraging for nuts like in the previous years 😀

Got me some new meth with "Cult of the Lamb"... yeah Lttp, but(t) fuck, this game scratches my rogue-lite-itches good.

The Cheese Cult is very happy with its poop shoveling, barf mopping, deity killing leader...

After finishing the wonderful Return to Monkey Island and wanted something with more action and something darker.

Now playing Alan Wake Remastered since I never got around playing it in modern hardware after having finished it on the X360 back when it's been released. Had the PC version ever since but always postponed it. Now playing on the PS5 and really loving the DualSense support that is unfortunately missing on PC.

A few rounds of OW2, but I realise that the battle pass progression system these days isn't enough to motivate me and the game doesn't feel new enough to get me excited on its own as when it was first released 2016.

Outriders once a week with my buddies, really like the shoot, loot, compare, equip loop, and the story.

Hades for the things I still haven't unlocked. Still loving the gameplay and characters.

F1 2021 for a few races once in a while.

Backbone because the art is incredible and it's leaving game pass soon.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
I've finished Dark Forces with TFE. Meaty Doom-ish combat but few enemy types & bosses. Nice levels, mazes like Doom but with some objectives more involving than colored keys and some nice tricks of its own with more 3D capabilities than Doom engine could do. Good stuff, recommended.

I also finished Phantasy Star Online for the first time, the Dreamcast Ver. 2. Pretty decent game but it's bullshit it just goes straight to credits with absolutely no resolution or in any way acknowledging it happened. You either loop back on higher difficulties, or resume as if you never beat the boss. Sure in that way it works like Diablo II but Diablo II did have an ending and everything to go with that, even if loading that save on the completed difficulty was right before the boss again. I searched and it seems all PSO variants did this except BB which has some NPC scenes. Shitty end to a road.

Just finished playing Resi 3 Nemesis on my Vita. Think I'll go for some horror games on Steam next. I've got a couple in mind: Obscure, Home Sweet Home, and Amnesia Dark Descent. Not really played much of these three.

Elden Ring.

But ... I sort of feel I've had my fill now. About 65h, and I've just beaten The Godskin Duo. Unfortunately, this part of the game doesn't feel as fun as the open world, and the difficulty spike is insane. The game does also seem to have a nasty habit of throwing the same bosses at you, too; lots of repeat enemies littering the place..

Not sure I'll finish it, but I did have fun with it. I'll be taking a break from it for a few weeks, and see how I feel later on.

Bayonetta 3 and Mario + Rabbits 2 and absolutely loving both.

Switch this year has been really good, with Xenoblade 3, Kirby and Triangle Strategy and now Bayonetta 3 and Mario + Rabbits 2. Switch is absolutely killing it this year.

I have Mario + Rabbids 2 but I've been addicted to Persona 5 Royal. Been playing that nonstop on Switch
