Then Jim turned his anger towards the unnamed executive that blocked the tribute from being on TV. Said that if anyone gets him the info of the executive doing this to Jay he'll put whatever details he's given out, no fucks given. Really, it is a top level cunt move to block the tribute over a years old tweet apologised for many times through words and actions. Some person gets to be heartless and spiteful from an anonymous position, continuing to judge a man by one tweet and nothing else.
The thing is it literally took something like this for Corny to see the problem with "cancel culture". I mean he was pretty much ok with Nash Carter getting cancelled because Corny didn't like him when Carter did something stupid. Now all of a sudden he thinks it's a bad idea when it nails somebody he likes. (For those that don't remember Carter got fired when a picture of him with a hitler mustache got leaked during a messy divorce. To me it looked like Carter was an idiot and during shaving in the bathroom either intentionally or unintentionally shaved it on his face. What can I say, 20 year olds are idiots. Some how I don't think the guy who's closest friends are his black and hispanic team-mates in the Rascals is a closet racist, just a moron at times.) Anyway I doubt Cornette will learn from it though.

Is Sami Zayn gonna get the boot tomorrow night? :D

I love this storyline with the Bloodline. But it also gets to be somewhat boring having them hogging all the top titles, when there's basically two main shows each week where the absence of such major championship bouts is often felt.

It'a horrible that useless cunts take innocent people with them when they earn their Darwin awards. Picking up your daughters from cheerleading practice, minutes away from home, and something like this happens.

I've been listening to Cornette's podcast, and I didn't realise how much this affected him. Obviously not quite as bad as Bobby Eaton, but still talking through tears, barely knowing what to say, and having the same philosophy of "If I don't talk about this I can never do a podcast again".

It's a sad state of affairs from every angle.
Yeah, that Executive is a piece of shit and anyone who helped sign off on it is as well. Such a tragic accident that happens all the time in this garbage world. Just praying for strength for the friends and family.

I will Fast Foward through this show and watch the highlights. I did watch the first Monday Night Raw. I remember the Ring Girls.
It's thinking back to how the RAW was originally in a tiny ballroom given how it is today. (Then again not that surprising if you remember how the old Crockett NWA program was in a TV studio.) Come to think of it NXT feels more like those shows than the current RAW does.

30th anniversary? I hope Vince shows up and pisses everyone off.

I should watch the first ep of Raw one of these days. I probably watched it when it first aired but I don't remember. I do remember Razor Ramone and the 1-2-3 (nee Lighting/L ?) Kid... the early days of the Undertaker, Doink the Clown... I just don't remember how much of that was the weekend morning-ish show whose name I don't even recall, and how much of it was Raw. I do recall Raw kind of obsoleting the other programming. Which was always chock-full of jobbers... I vaguely remember Raw being extra exciting because you'd actually see "name" wrestlers have matches against each other. Not just squash Barry Horowitz in 2 minutes flat ad-nauseum. I didn't have the ability to order the PPVs back then, even if I could have somehow convinced my parents that it was a wise investment.

So happy to see Sami being soo fucking over. Such a huge turn around from where he was just a few months ago.

I miss watching the WWE flagship shows online. But those free 'watch wrestling' sites are so tediously slow and unreliable, with annoying virus risks, that I just stopped bothering. Still, I would prefer to see something awesome happening live, rather than having to go on gerweck.net to read about it afterwards.

It's just not the same...

30 years of raw and it was mostly a couple of poker bits. That sucks.
I liked the poker bits. But rest of show was mostly a let down compared to expectations.

Far worse than the show itself was a new back of mind though that took root. I'm loving the Bloodline and Sami stuff. I have also been really excited at thought of Rock showing up to stake a claim for Tribal Chief. 1% of me still thinks there's a chance that Sami burns Roman, and Rock shows up to laugh and pitch that Roman was never as good as he thinks he is, challenging him to a WM match. Unfortunately, the other 99% of my brain is now saying that is not going to happen. And that instead, we are about 5-6 days away from Cody's triumphant return to win Royal Rumble and take on Roman at WrestleMania. Which I'm sure will make some people happy. I'm just not one of them.

Cody as champ would be cool, because it is one of the best comebacks in all of Wrestling. As in he left the company because of his treatment, built his brand and came back to run the brand.

The only title he deserves is worst tattoo in WWE. It's almost as bad as when a perfect 10 porn star gets a massive shoulder tattoo or arm sleeve. Possibly worse, but that is debatable.

I wouldn't be surprised if Cody does win. The web is always full of high profile rumours that go around before a big event, which kind of takes away from the surprise you could get from just not having any clue beforehand.

It was like when Cody came back at WrestleMania. Fans knew in advance he had signed a contract with WWE and was expected to be the "mystery" opponent for Seth "Freakin" Rollins. It was splattered all over the Internet.

The same shit happened in prior years with Royal Rumble matches, and other matches for that matter. I truly preferred it when you knew it could go either way, with it coming down to four men like John Cena and CM Punk or whoever, with no indication of who may win. Now the hype is a bit low for me when they keep posting about this online. It's always like, there's the answer.

Much of this show felt like filler, which is why it comes across as pretty meh with shows like these where nothing much happens outside of the big titular battle royals. So there is boredom that kicks in and it's just a time killer.

Like, come on. I knew Kevin Owens would lose. I knew Cody and Rhia would win.

But I did like the ending with Sami finally deciding to betray the Bloodline. I think even that was predictable, but it was still delivered rather well.

"Mum I'm so excited, I'm in a match at Royal Rumble!"
"You're in the Royal Rumble? I'm so proud!"
"No, I'm in a match at Royal Rumble"
"They have normal matches on that show? Huh, you learn something new every day. I guess that's good too, have fun honey."

Is there anyone who is excited for Roman v. Cody at WM?

If you read this thread you can tell I am not excited at all. But maybe I'm the outlier on this. Genuinely curious.

I don't see the appeal to be honest, Cody was tedious in AEW but I am assuming that they are going to go with the rags to riches story.

I like Cody and I can't say I'm excited on this either. Personally I thought they should have spent the last 2 years building up Montez Ford into a main eventer since he has a ton of charisma and he'd be ready to slay the dragon at this point but they kind of blew it.

Can I ask if you've followed Cody outside of WWE and are you a fan of Cody in general?

Yes I'm very excited since he's a continuation of the same character he's played outside of WWE. It's just so cool to have a star come in to WWE and pretty much just continue their journey without the need for their character to be rebooted. Had he come back with different music and a different look then I wouldn't feel the same. If I solely watched WWE I can't imagine I'd be too excited either.

Ask away - always happy to talk wrestling. Especially with different view points to keep it interesting.

So my answer is I’ve followed him a little bit outside wwe. Just news stories until AEW. I respect him as someone who helped launch AEW which I am a fan of (but it’s been a rough year there). I never cared for Stardust, but gave him a shot in AEW. Just didn’t click for me. And he came across as worthy of mid card slots but not someone I would tune in for (to me).

Main issue to me is it feels fake to go from not a top star in AEW (imo), beat Seth, then win Rumble, then get top of WM. But 100% I get your appreciation for staying same in both companies.

I would like Cody to become wwe champ. But I don’t care who he wrestles. it would be a nice thing to see him after leaving as Star dust.

Our perception of Cody is different. I saw him as a top guy. He just couldn't challenge for top belt. I can totally see it from your view if your perception of him is an AEW mid-carder coming to the WWE main event scene instantly. That would be very jarring. My perception of Cody in AEW has been main event star who's banned from challenging for the world title. So whenever Cody had the TNT title I didn't see a mid card wrestler with the belt. I saw something similar to when John Cena had the US title.

Who do you think would be better suited to fight Roman at Mania?

Rock. Pay him whatever. Perfect way to advance or end Bloodline. If not him another relative.

Cody should have never taken himself out of the Championship picture. He would have been great as AEW champ.

There is the potential for Jey to be that relative, but we will have to wait and see.

Speaking of relatives, I never really looked into that family tree until recently but I found it interesting.

Rock's daughter is (was?) with Solo Sikoa, but aside from that the connection isn't a family one but rather that they're two close families. Peter Maivia and Roman's grandfather were such close friends that they considered each other blood brothers. According to Peter Maivia's page, the Anoa'i consider the Maivias part of their family.

Interesting. I think that opens the possibilities up even more depending on who else from that tree is wrestling. Roman calls himself the tribal chief. A second family bloodline feuding to lead the "tribe" could be a long and cool storyline.

It was detrimental to his full potential as a face, but face Cody could have set up a Tiger Driver 98 and hit a Pedigree instead to turn heel and it would have made for a glorious title run in my opinion.

Anyway I think face Cody with his super pyro entrance and flashy wrestling gear makes for a fantastic WWE superstar regardless even if I don't watch the show too often.
