What's your favorite Ninja design in a videogame?

reeVELZ.jpg

Also, Mortal Kombat ninjas
Ryu Hyabusa
Strider Hiryu
Raiden

And isn't Yoshimitsu (Tekken/Soul Calibur) more of a samurai than a ninja?

Mitsu is a samurai!

We should have a samurai thread! Mine would be Hibiki from Last Blade 2 of course! My fave fighting character!

What's up with scarfs that make ninjas so damn cool!

A scarfed ninja and a dog!

Surprised no one mentioned that guy in Samurai Shdown who looks like Strider with blonde hair and has a wolf? Gar-something.

Just giving you a hard time, chief. Mitsu isn't a ninja. lol

I know he is I did mention it in my post, and im also just f*in around ;)

This thread needs more Sub-Zero!

He is mentioned four times. But yeah he is one of the best ones if you ask me.

The Sasuke one is very good as well. To build upon that uiverse. I always liked the Anbu black ops. Something creepy about their simplistic appearance and monotone voices taking any order without hesitation

Not my favorite, but I felt she should have an honorable mention.

It's too bad the game sucked - I liked the idea of a stealth ninja game where you could also use seduction to take out enemies.

Hotsuma and Hibana from Shinobi/Kunoichi/Nightshade. If we're strictly talking design, I don't think anyone else is even in contention.

I guess I gotta be the one to mention the justin bieber of video game ninjas:

Let's be fair though, this guy invented the red-scarved ninja, particularly among americans. Like all of SNK's stuff from that era, just a wonderful design.

Wut. You seem to have mistaken him for the superior Hanzo, who actually has a red scarf, not an orange one.

No one wants a throne you've been sitting on!

Kidding of course. I think I'd have to give it to modern Ryu, but I really like Riochi Cooper from Sly Cooper, his levels in Sly 4 were my favorite part of the game.

I think I had a slight heart attack, then saw the comment.

Yes, I really hated fucking Kai Leng.

This thread makes me think that it would be incredibly interesting to see the visual evolution of Mortal Kombat's roster, all laid out with side-by-side comparisons. Really neat how the character styles change from installment to installment.

Morrigan Stark

Arrogant Smirk
Most of those female costumes are so awful. Why is it so hard to have a cool-looking kunoichi? I like the female ninjas in FFT, Ninja Warriors, and Suikoden series. The rest, gah, my eyes >_<

That's probably the best female ninja design I've seen so far:
Ayame01.jpg

I wish she were drawn with some cool sword or dagger though. Let's just pretend she's got hidden knives I guess :D

Also this other Suikoden dude is pretty cool:

I'm proud that we didn't manage to get past the first page without a giant Senren kagura cast list :D

(speaking of: seconded)

Do video games based on anime ninjas count?

If that's the case Jubei from Ninja Scroll is the ultimate ninja!

(There's no Ninja Scroll video game, but if there was, he's the best!)

:p

Are game ninja perhaps similar to Mario Kart in the sense that the first ones you play as (or defeat) will always be the coolest in a way?

Regardless, I think for me the first ninja I encountered in game land as an enemy, not counting the Turtles' Footclan enemies (which are cool as well), is this one:

He and his twin were boss characters in Double Dragon II on the NES in the second level. It was their ferocity and speed that made them memorable. Maybe we should list a few more ninja enemies as well, is what I'm saying.

One other quite obscure ninja you can play as, is Kai (and his cohorts) from Technos' arcade brawler Shadow Force

Anyone here very familiar with this game? I've never encountered it in the wild and it's supposed to be a very deep beat 'm up with lots of moves etc.

Ryu Hayabusa - or as he is more commonly known "Hayabusa would not come through here, we have 1000s of troops, monsters and heat seeking motherfucking missile launchers! No one would dare to attempt to go through al that just for a minor collectible in the tower behind us that isn't even the main part of our forces!" *snikt* *thud*

Honorable Mention - Tsuna from Otogi 2 (beast mode)

I love ninjas so it would be a huge list if I try to write them all.

But my heart belongs to this one:

I don't think the guy from Otogi is a ninja at all.

Big fan of Edge from FFIV. He has a unique color-scheme for a ninja. Where did this "ninjas have white hair" schtick come from?
