I'm not against discussion.
and besides if you need so many pictures to bring your point across , then i'm unsure that this discussion is fit for a regular forom.
And this remark is not for you in particular but in general.
Since it seems like Monday and Tuesday are the slowest days of the week, might as well take the chance to break out the NEW ANIMEGAF SURVEY I've been wanting to post for a while now. Kind of a mix of some questions from previous ones (since there's a lot of new people around and some stuff might have changed) plus a few new ones.

Alright I am starting Anohana.
I've been told this show is a very emotional show in the vein of Clannad AS. So in respect of this when I do my episode impressions it won't be the "stream of consciousness" type of impressions like I usually do. I think this show might deserve my full and undivided attention. Just letting you guys know. It's just for this series. Plan on going back to it for G Gundam and TTGL.

This is pretty much how I remember the show - very silly, and mostly about being an SD pig girl
It may amuse you to note - if you weren't already aware - that there is a dub of this show, entitled Super Pig!, which aired certainly in the UK if not elsewhere. I have no idea how many episodes I saw, but it's one of those curious quirks of anime around the world that we got it and... virtually no-one else did.
Hah, I saw that an English dub was produced for some South American TV markets, but I didn't realize it was for the UK market as well. Regardless, it's apparently hard to find these days and I only learned of this show while digging through various magical girl titles that I had yet to look into. I forget if I learned of the Nanami connection before or after I started watching, but the silliness of the concept was enough to bring to try it.
It's been an observed pattern that as soon as some start to get elaborate with their posts others whine about it. Let's not do that unless there's actually a problem with the size and number of pictures used.

Love Live with its crass commercialism is somehow more genuine than an episode of Glee about gaybashing in NYC.

I think Branduil said what I wanted to say. I think all I'd want is a bit more of a connection between music and synaesthesia, if only because anime gives you a chance to do things with sound and imagery that you can't get away with anywhere else. The fact that it was a dream instead was a slight disappointment.
Still, for a short story about people trying to connect to each other, it was nice. Branduil said it reminded him of Chuu2 or Aura, but for me it reminded me of Garden ofFeet Words and how two people from different worlds can come together through music and a dream.
I guess it helps when you don't loathe the cast and the writers of a show. lol

An interesting experiment would be to watch the movie in lieu of the series or before the series, but I don't know if you'd want to be a guinea pig.
Is there an actual elitist anime forum? The only ones I'm aware of are AS, MAL, and 4chan. None of those would qualify as elitist or selective.
It is. It has its heart in the right place but sometimes goes horribly askew. Overall I think it was pretty good.

About the pictures:

Lots of talk, Ashram gets some depth. Mostly ok with the character designs but internally debating if Deedlit's is appropriate. She's a long lived high elf who had an immature streak in the OVA but this is five years after the war of heroes and she appears and sounds older (thanks to the new VA) so torn between deciding upon bad downgrade or illustrating some maturity on her part.

My advice is to forget all about 4chan. It went totally downhill once I stopped posting there. True facts.

That's why i said that this wasn't a comment toward you in particular but maybe that one ? and another that happenned this morning.
Not a matter of being elaborate, maybe that if people whine about it there is a reason that people might be annoyed ? again nothing personnal about your post or the way it is elaborated but i feel that a middle ground is possible so that everyone can be happy about it.
i myself have picked shows that i didn't expect to watch thank to pictures , and there was no need to blast a post of pictures for that to happen.

The whole point of our metadiscussion earlier was to move the thread in a more positive direction and swing the pendulum towards critical discussion. Jexhius's use of images is easily justified and the post was highly illuminating overall.
There's already more than enough room for inane blather.

I didn't pick up on the synesthesia comparison, I just thought her parents were jerks, LOL. And it gave Yoshiura a chance to indulge in robot imagery once again.
Garden of Words is an interesting comparison, but I'd say one key difference is that Shinkai's film ends with
the characters finally communicating with each other honestly, while in Harmonie there's still an element of misunderstanding.

There are actually a few characters on the official site that aren't in the OT, but they didn't have usable Tsunako art so nuts to them! S2's definitely only covering vols 5-7 though, so no Natsumi (witchy).

It helps that there's enough humor to keep the hammier aspects in check - the post-credit scenes are always appreciated.

It's quite hard to talk with much depth about a visual medium without pictures. You can talk about your own response to the work or the script without images, I suppose, but for anything else they're fairly helpful.
People post in here because they want to discuss things with others. Blogs are, by their very nature, quite a different beast with an author-reader relationship arrangement that's quite different from a Forum. I have no interest in blogging at present.
I had actually redacted my post substantially, I could have probably had about three or four paragraphs of text and images.

Well i'll finish on this :
I feel like there is another way . many people do follow this thread and if a critic from those people arise , saying "this is an anime , pictures are required" is not a 100% perfect answer. besides that was not what is was saying. Pictures are necessary, no doubt about it to illustrate your point with pictures is damn fine. i do it all the time.
There goes a moment where the question arise: At what point does there is too many pictures for a single post that raise a point? You're ignoring this by saying that you should be free to express yourself like you want but by doing so , you just ignore the people that could be annoyed by such afflux of pictures.
Not everything Anime Gaf write is inane blanter, sometimes we post simple posts with few pictures and it's enough to start a discussion. it's enough to get people intrested in watching an anime.
Sorry i can't express myself better but i feel like i needed to say this so that you wouldn't misunderstood where i stand on this matter.

That deedlit is terrible. The other deedlit though. I think I'll just watch the omake.
Jexhius' post would be no different, except perhaps being more disjointed, if he broke it up into individual posts for each topic he covered. It's not like he was spamming pictures just because, he was using every picture as support for an argument, like quotations in an academic paper. It would've been more annoying, actually, if he took a single episode review and broke it up into fragments.
Fairy Tail OVA 04-05
Though separated by several chapters, both of these were pretty similar. A mixture of mild introspection and less mild fanservice. I think the biggest difference is that the Ryuuzetsu Land episode had a lot more shipping going on. Not bad, and I can appreciate the various Lucy angles.

I've never read/watched Rave, but this one was easy to follow. It's obvious that Mashima reused/refined some of the basic character archetypes between the two series, given how similar a lot of the pairings were. About what I'd expect from an anime crossover. All that I've got left is the movie and its prologue, but that's for tomorrow.
Though separated by several chapters, both of these were pretty similar. A mixture of mild introspection and less mild fanservice. I think the biggest difference is that the Ryuuzetsu Land episode had a lot more shipping going on. Not bad, and I can appreciate the various Lucy angles.

Look, I have yet to see a specific complaint from you other than a kneejerk response to seeing a lot of pictures. It's true that you can't please everyone, so you have to make decisions on how best to cater to your desired audience. It's also entirely true that pictures can be overused and large filesizes or dimensions present problems with page loading and display, but was that an issue here?

Trigger making Tsumugu a jobber as KLK progressed was one of the worst things about the show.

Yeah. Sending her to I guess a psychiatrist because of her dream is pretty terrible imo.
But as I said before, I really liked this, I'd like more of this story. But sadly its not something that could get a kickstarter campaign.
I'd also like to note that while OT threads do offer more space for that kind of thing, Jexhius already has posted extensively in the KLK thread and it's not wrong of him to share some of that with the wider anime thread. Also, there exists many topics for which no thread exists or would be viable. I'm having a good time watching Tonde Buurin, and I wanted to share that.

Believe it or not I am pretty resilient. It takes a lot to actually push me into the feels territory and get me to cry rivers of tears. That's the only crying I know how to do.
But yeah it may do that to me. A friend of mine who knows I love Key stuff told me that I would like this and it would get to me at the end. So here's hoping.
You have a point about the ED, but I think that does also point out that the communication is fairly one-sided, with
