That is pretty much the biggest problem with Brazil and Argentina right now. Before, it was a lot easier to keep the greats local. Now? Nearly impossible.

Players shouldn't be able leave before turning 23.

Also, I wish a salary cap was implemented like in the NBA with a realistic sum and not a billion dollars Then I'd like to see how teams like Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, etc manage. They would have to sell more than half the team.

At least it would give us a fighting chance.

He also didn't roll around all that time, and basically all of it was still before our goal. He was exhausted and in pain, it isn't easy to do all that for 120 minutes at all.

Nah, he was simulating after the goal, that's why the ref added two more minutes. It's not very sportsmanlike, but at the same time, everybody does it. Argentina should have scored sooner.

I like the idea, sort of. You are a bit off with Bayern though, we don't spend a lot of money on salaries, just trades, and normally not even that much. We have a really low salary for most players, even some of our most important. Still, the point is good. Honestly, I agree with the overall idea. I am a strong supporter of national leagues housing mostly local players, because it helps chemistry and everything. It is a reason I think the Bundesliga is the best in Europe too though, besides being German. We have a system with our Confederation that makes it normal for Germans to stay here and play locally and grow together.

I think that the various associations for football in different countries should be working hard to make their leagues a bit like the Bundesliga with good youth systems for your country and pride for staying with your teams. It isn't even all that expensive and would be extremely helpful for like everyone.

He was fouled far less after the goal is my main point, he wasn't simulating before really because he still wanted us to get the time for the shot. He wasn't overselling it too much, I thought, and he didn't have much time to after the goal since Argentina wasn't fouling as much. I was just saying that almost everything from his was pretty legitimate overall though, he deserves a lot of credit for his performance and work rate I think.

I don't really think that works. Yes it works for Germany, which is the largest country in Europe. Brazil should be able to have a better competition going since their economic upsurge. But for small countries like Holland, there's only room for three or four decent teams, no big sponsorship possibilities and that have to play against smaller teams leading to a crappy competition. Euros and World cups become a sort of storefront for young talent to be scouted and sold off to big teams abroad. The only way to get them to grow to star status (it's a good thing the team where they got their training now gets a cut). There's no way (safe freak years such as Ajax 95) that we have all that talent in a single team and can mature it there.

That is a pretty fair point, but I guess then I mean for the countries that can support it. For those in South America, I am pretty sure most could manage it just fine, as well as some of the ones here in Europe or in Asia. Some can't, but imposing other restrictions with some help of FIFA conferences to make regulations to help solve this issue would be fine. I want this whole thing pretty bad.

I have this dream of every individual national team being built up under philosophies that are completely local and working extremely well with top talent for every team. The current system is a lot of strategies being used in various teams with the top players in the world for your country rather than the ones that best fit the system. Also the chemistry right now is poor in most teams and a lot of players could definitely be better.

Yeah, that sounds good. I don't really know how Bayern handles their players's salaries, just threw in the club's name because of the how big it is.

The situation here is quite difficult not only do clubs have huge debts, in some places players keep on playing for months before getting paid. Of course this makes you understand why they want to leave so early but then the quality of our league becomes horrible.

The problems runs deeper with corrupts associations, club presidents, barrabravas "hooligans" making calls in which player gets transfered, etc. It's a shame.

WC 2018 any minute now fml

FUCK, not only I'm very sad because we lost but having to wait another 4 years is like twisting a knife in my heart. I'm going to jump off a bridge now...

It's probably best for me to quit this thread now and hide in a cave for a few months :'(

Looks legit :D
Well, I ordered a 3star Götze kit a few minutes after the game. But the badge really makes it perfect... Might double dip.

getting the four star one as well. The red symbol makes it look like a superhero costume. But I think I won't have a name put on.

4-star here too, probably Klose, Podolski or Müller, cant decide yet. Wait there arent any 4-star women jerseys yet? Whats up with that?

Do not, under any circumstances, pay for Fox Soccer Channel. Years ago it was great. Now it's absolutely worthless. They don't have a damn thing worth watching.

MLS is MLS. If you like the idea of watching local guys play and following a local team, do it. The product on the field isn't terrible by any means, but it does pale in comparison to what you'll see in the major leagues around the world. $80 is a good deal if you want to follow a specific team.

Your best option right now is to watch the EPL for free on NBC. They air one or two major games on the weekend, and you can access all the others on their website. They've made it damn easy to follow, and there's even nice league synopsis videos where they go team by team and explain their history and star players.

Regular ESPN airs major club matches for stuff like Champion's League, so you'll get your occasional exposure to Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich.

I watch every match of my favorite club in Argentina, River Plate, on the AFA website, Futbol Para Todos, but I doubt that will appeal to most people.
OK that's nice, I didn't realize that you could watch all games online with NBC. That in itself is almost enough. I think I might order the MLS package and then I'll have both of those. A friend told me that the channels I listed before are for Champions League matches and they're free so I'll have Barclay Pl, CL , and MLS. Not bad. :)

Berlin City is crazy right now. National team landed and everything close to the route the the Brandenburger Tor is closed. Needed 15min longer to work with bike. Office is where the route is supposed to be and people from my office building are running downstairs to see the national team on a open truck.
