PlayStation 4 sells 360.000 units in Spain (7:1 Ps4:XBO)

So it's really not that big of a deal, then.

The Xbox was already unpopular, and with the way this generation started out with the MS blunders, it's not surprising to see this split. 1/7 = 14.2%, so it's about the same as last generation.

Still, that sucks for MS. 20mil on marketing just to stay at equilibrium.

it's not a big deal here in Spain, XBOX has never sold well as I said before. they sold better with 360 because it was way cheaper than PS3, but nowhere near doing "good", just average.

here in Spain people just prefere PS platforms, they feel fond of Sony IPs, then you have people and families who love Nintendo platforms, most Mario titles are sellers here. but people don't have the need to switch to MS platform it just offers the same as Sony, and as I said before, people prefer Sony IPs.

the most well known MS ips in Spain are Halo and Gears of War, and I bet Gears of War is more attached to XBOX than Halo here in Spain.

PS1 and 2 were huge in Spain, to the point where people stopped calling the game consoles "la Nintendo" and started calling them "la Play". This hegemony stopped when the Wii and DS absolutely conquered the market, but now it seems PS4 is getting its place back.

So...I think exactly the same as in the rest of the world, right?

What was Matrick actually saying in that interview? It looks exactly like ¨No please, no¨. LOL

Is it from the same interview they got the ¨I´ve made a huge mistake¨ image from?

Both are hilarious!

Truth be told I wanna get my hands on an X1 for Sunset Overdrive amongst other title that interest me, but I must face the reality that if I do get an X1, I am mostly likely investing in a console who's 1st and 3rd party support could "POTENTIALLY" shrink as the generation moves forward.

In the US and UK it's doing okayish. That and MS will guarantee a strong list of first and third party games.

The X1 will come good. It's in the interest of the publishers to sell as much content as they can across many platforms.

Whatcha think GAF?

PS4: 15 mil
XBO 9 mil

If PS4 somehow is only at 15 million at years end it had bomba holiday season. PS3 at its peak moved 6.5 million units during holiday season and PS4 is doing better than PS3 ever did. Should be very close if not over 20 million shipped if PS4 behaves like market leader during holiday season.

Wow didn't know that. So this could be a "over 100 mil generation" again?

Things are not great in Spain right now, but nowhere near Romania, Bulgaria.. you have no idea what you're talking about. Spain is closer to Italy.

I'm spaniard.

As I said we are the fourth macroeconomic economy in the eurozone (Germany -France-Italy-Spain) but this is no near close when we talk about microeconomy and purchase power, when nearly everyone is richer than us. We, who are simple workers are slaves, here, and whores like Lagarde saying we need to be poorer and earn less.

I remember the launch day here in spain; i went to the nearest game where i had reserved my ps4+ kz pack and the queue was HUGE, like, more than 100 people. I had never seen that in my whole life.

Actually, both publishers and gamers are better served by a single, dominant platform, since that means better quality games, produced in less time and for less money.

You're forgetting that "all competition" is great and necessary, regardless of anything else.

Destiny launch day, at least on my nearest GAME, like 120/130 people there. The PS4 launch day that store was isolated, 5 people in the store counting the 2 employees and me.

Honestly it doesn't seem like anyone is obsessed with these numbers. So I'm not really sure where this narrative is coming from.

Even worse when some of those people moaning are turning up in the pachter prediction thread (on Xbone winning September) and seem quite o.k 'obsessing' over numbers there.

I don't see the X1 hitting 9 million till Feb or March next year (maybe, depending on how much it collapses). The PS4 seems about right but I think they'll do at least 16 million, but no more than 17.5.

When people say "Xbox is doing ok, I don't see what people are saying when they say it's going to be a failure, it'll still do well" they have to realise that outside of English speaking countries, it's completely dead.

It's only a matter of time before reality becomes impossible to ignore. The Xbox One absolutely has a fighting chance in NA and the UK (possibly the AU as well), but the console will need a miracle to match the PS4 sales in every other territory.

Such a miracle doesn't exist. Sure, it can regain some balance in NA and UK, but worldwide, its place will always be behind PS4. I don't know how people haven't come to such a reality yet. Goalposts are always moved: "this month will be it," or "this game will certainly do it!"

Yeah but still we're a lot better than in Romania or Bulgary. I'd love to know how many ps4's have been sold in Romania..

This graph is from 2010 but things a more or less the same.
