So, who's buying Mad Max next week?

Damn, a 50% off before the game is even out?
Something doesn't feel right here... I'm very tempted to go for it, but I'm also more than a bit puzzled by such a low price. I'll have to give it some more thought...

A Warner Bros. published PC game heavily discounted by GMG?
Fucking hell no. I learned my lesson with Arkham Knight.
Weren't the first two Batman games on PC developed in-house by Rocksteady?

Warner Bros. is the publisher. They own the rights. They get to choose who does the PC port and how it is handled. Us being wary about buying the PC version says nothing about Avalanche's abilities. I'm all in on day 1 for Just Cause 3, which is published by Square Enix, thankfully.

The difference here is that Avalanche is doing the PC version of Mad Max.
Avalanches main studio at that not Avalanche NY.
And after the brilliance that was Just Cause 2....which is still a brillaint running and looking game today I am more than happy to jump onto this without reading any reviews.

Arkham Knight for PC was ported by Iron Galaxy.
Take that as you will.

I for one am opting for the Post Aplcalypse edition of the game.
Im that much of a Mad Max Fan.

i feel like it's in a similar position in the minds of many gamers as shadow of mordor was.

some people know about it, but not many are very interested in it, and few expect anything special out of it.

the difference here is SoM turned out to be surprisingly good, so much so that it won a bunch of GoTYs and was able to become a huge success due to great wom.

mad max has had mixed previews (all of SoM's were positive iirc), so we're going to have to wait and see if it is good enough to break out of the hole it seems to be stuck in like SoM did.

Even if it's reviewed very well I don't think I'll pick it up til next year. I only buy a limited amount of full priced games a year.

Mad max is already coming out!? Sheesh I had no idea. To answer the OP nope. I haven't even finished W3 but I'm grabbing MGSV anyway. At this rate I won't have time to play Mad Max till 2020 after the great apocalypse

Depending on impressions and overall reviews, I'll be happy to grab it at launch. I probably won't be able to play it for a week or more depending on how MGSV goes, but if it's promising enough I'll push it beyond my backlog and recent purchases.

I'll be picking it up when it releases. I like the Mad Max license, enjoy open world games, had fun with the driving sections from Rage, and am still a fan of the Arkham combat (i don't even mind if it's easy combat, i have fun experimenting with different moves and keeping my combo meter up). I've only played Metal Gear Solid 4 and Ground Zeroes, and neither of those made me a super fan of the series. Loved Metal Gear Rising tho. MGSV is the game I'll be picking up at a later date.

iirc, this happened with Tomb Raider back in 2013 as well though I don't think it was discounted as heavily.

The driving looks fun. I'll be busy with MGS for quite some time but I enjoyed the trailers for this and hope it turns out ok. I'm not terribly hyped but if it ends up being amazing I'll definitely consider it down the road. Usually licensed games aren't very good though so I'm not optimistic.

I know, GMG often has these coupons that can be applied to pre-orders, though they rarely go over 25 % off. But to see a 50 % off is strange... like they're sending this game out to die.

Pretty sure I am.

I have seen bits of the mad max movies over the years but never a full one, so I'm not fully into the lore or whatever. Just from the videos circulating ifor the game it does look a bit interesting. Just not sure whether I should go with ps4 or Xbox one, but the fact that all the videos seem to be on ps4 is swaying me to that side.

It won't be competing with MGS for me as I haven't played any of those games, and so jumping in with the latest I'd have no idea who is who and what is going on.

I want to but I only have money for one game next week and that's MGS V. I'll definitely pick it up in September, though. I'm a huge Mad Max fan, so it hurts I can't get it launch day.

It's gonna be a while until i get it. I'm about half way through batman arkham city, but I had to stop playing it because of until dawn - I'm in love with this game. Once I finish those two I will replay all of previous metal gear games and then will play phantom pain. After that I will go back to uncharted remaster. On top of that I'm still playing driveclub and fifa on regular basis. And the last thing, but not least - as soon as yakuza 5 comes out i will lock myself in my room and won't come out until i finish it; I've waited for too long.

There are too many other great games coming out in September, I don't expect Mad Max to be doing particularly well. That being said, nope I'm not picking it up.

I'll never understand what GAF sees in this guy.

Picking it up for $20 (GCU + reward zone certificates) along with Fury Road. I probably won't play it right away, but for $20, eh!

I don't know either. I clicked on that video expecting an actual review and ugh, I was disappointed.

Pre-ordering it this weekend at Best Buy with GCU. For what will end up costing me $38, it's literally going to be a steal. Also picking up MGSV but in this case like the majority of the time, it's going to be the game that's underrated and under hyped that's better and quite simply more fun to play than the overrated and overhyped game.

I'm interested, but i'm waiting until WB delivers on their promise to fix the Batman:AK PC port before i buy another game from them.

MGS V has priority though :)

I wish they would put it out early October. That way, a month or so before Just Cause 3 and not on MGS day.

I might pick up Mad Max at launch, will check out impressions.

iron galaxy did the Pc version of batman AK.

Mad Max is being done on PC by the main Avalanche Studio....the one that did Just Cause 2.
And they have never failed at focusing on PC development.

So while im sure you think you are hurting WB by not helping out Mad max, you are actually fucking with Avalanche, they arent exactly the biggest studio around getting a good publishing deal must have been a high point for them.....uninformed consumers hating on their game when they had nothing to do with batman, is just a sad state of affairs.

I hope to see some impressions by this weekend by people finding it early. Maybe even some streams if they're not shut down immediately.

I simply have too many games for me to grab this at release. Luckily there's no online component so I wont feel I'm missing out. I plan to pick this up down the line.
