Media Create Sales: Week 36, 2015 (Aug 31 - Sep 06)

it's above last year's numbers by a good margin and it hasn't been far off on a month to month basis, it's pretty stable

new 3ds launched during the nov/dec holiday season, even if it does worse it won't be alot as it'll enjoy good sales anyway

i dont see why u guys are so sure it'll be down so drastically like that when it hasn't shown that all year

the drop it shows in nov/dec will mostly be made up by feb/march numbers this year, so it evens out in the end

New3DS launched during week 41 in Japan last year so it was early october.

Last year (before the holiday season started):
Code:
 Week 3DS
 37 39.569
 38 43.592
 39 30.439
 40 22.490
 41 263.010
 42 113.238
 43 96.590
 44 69.673
 45 79.217
 46 65.201
 47 88.653

3DS is not going to match those numbers this year.

i was talking bout US sales, why do u think u posted that US chart in the first place..

Well when I quoted your post you were quoting different post than currently. Also your post then doesn't make much sense. New3DS launched during february this year in US not in last november. Also as 3DS is already declining compared to last year in month to month basis and there is nothing like Pokemon this year to boost sales there will be probably decent drop. Not maybe drastic but that has more to do with the fact that sales were pretty bad already last year.

3DS sold 1,250,000 unit so far, it need to sell another 1,300,000 unit for be up YOY.
imo, it will, will sell over 100k in September / October, over 400k in November, and 700k in December.

yeah i thought they were talkin bout us sales thats why i removed them

u right it did launch in feb, i was confused with the release dates with US so i got it mixed

how can u say it is declining? the drop is a mere 20k last month and basically static for the rest of the year, normal new 3ds releasing for the US this month will only help sales even more.

new 3ds xl boosted feb/march numbers drastically, why do u assume with the normal one releasing this month that there will even a drop at all?

pokemon released in 2013, we're talkin bout 2014 vs 2015, ur highly overestimating high profile games to boost 3ds numbers when all the big games people want for the 3ds is already out, catalog sales is the driving factor

the US isn't Japan

it's more likely to do higher numbers this year than show a drop but it'll be at least flat

i think people highly overestimate revision impacts in japan when we've seen how much big software like monster hunter and the run up to the holiday period has driven sales

it isn't far behind 2014 atm and the lineup isn't bad compared to last year, it'll of course naturally decline, but i wouldn't be so sure yet on how big that drop is

Considering the almost yearly "3DS has no games" in the first months of a new year followed by strong announcements, there is little point to start this before 2016 even started, besides having informations about the status-quo, the actual value is pretty weak for any other considerations.

This holiday season Nintendo should convince people to switch from OG 3DS to N3DS and AC might be the right game. Level-5 should make some NFC-compatible YW for Christmas, perhaps a third version of YWB.

Looks like the PS4 version of MGSV has slipped big time. Huge second week drop incoming?

http://www.comgnet.com/ranking/

For reference (also beaten, lol):

[PS3]METAL GEAR SOLID V : THE PHANTOM PAIN(通常版) - 111pt
[PS4]METAL GEAR SOLID V : THE PHANTOM PAIN(通常版) - 52pt
[PS3]METAL GEAR SOLID V : THE PHANTOM PAIN SPECIAL EDITION - 21pt
[PS4]METAL GEAR SOLID V : THE PHANTOM PAIN SPECIAL EDITION - 8pt

But, yes, it fell hard on COMG while PS3 maintained what appear to be legs on the release.

Taiko PSV is struggling to reach 100k:

[PSV] Taiko no Tatsujin: V Version - 1.892 / 86.620 (-29%)

Extremely late to the party, but are you talking in the next few weeks, or ever? Because Taiko games seem to have extremely weird sales curves. Given there's been no holiday for this yet, I'd be shocked if it didn't reach 100k.

I think mario maker will get all of the credit for any splatoon boost but I wonder, and it would be interesting to see, what kind of affect the Splatoon tournament had on sales.

On more off-topic news... don't we have TSUTAYA Ranking yet?

EDIT: Yes, we have.

Such legs for Dragon Quest VIII.
lol sorry i only talk US sales

dq viii was never destined to sell that well from the beginning

but it's pretty much up there considering the state of the market

We still got to see the overall & weekend results, but if AiruVille charted high and still has meh sell through then I can't imagine how many copies they shipped.

That was clear 1st week imo. It should finish up around 850k I think, and maybe squeeze an extra 50-100k out of a budget reprint?

I do wonder how it'd have done if we hadn't recently gotten that janky Unity port on mobile?

A lock at this point.
yso prediction for SMM debut?
I am just saying that when it was initially announced, some posters did claim it was a lock for a million. I doubt if the mobile port had any impact since the 3DS version has new content and gameplay tweaks that the mobile version lacks.

SMM is definitely a million seller. Mario games have insane legs, even the latest Mario Party. The YSO predicted opening is pretty decent and it is going to sell in long term reaching 1 million like Splatoon.

MGSV's total points on Comg is 192. If the second week drop is 85% like the previous game, then it would be roughly 62,000. I guess we can expect both Mario Maker and Airou DX to be close to this number too.

Seeing DQX and Smash Wii U almost makes me wonder whether it was a general Wii U bump across the board thanks to Mario Maker. That'd be nice.

You expect SMM to open at ~60k?

What was the first day sell-through? One might expect this type of game selling well across time. Btw, isn't DX the deluxe edition of AiruVille already available on PSP?
