02./00. [PS3] Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain # <ADV> (Konami) {2015.09.02} (¥9.072) - 117.547 / NEW <69,86%> [Units shipped => 168.261]

Bundle Sales (included in Software and Hardware numbers)

00./00. [PS4] Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (PlayStation 4 Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain - The Phantom Pain Edition) <ADV> (Konami) {2015.09.02} (¥53.978) - 27.000 / NEW

MediaCreate is pointing that MGS PS4 digital sales are very high, probably the best opening ever for a PS4 game.

.

The first report came from this retailer (44% sell-through for SMM and 48% for MHD), but this is just a single store.

http://gekicore-gamelife.com/ranking/11512.html

What posted mao2 is the usual blog, nationwide.

Good news.

What about on Famitsu? Digital sales aren't counted are they and the FW for MGSV is 470k.

Famitsu publishes a monthly digital chart (plus retail sales) so we should wait until this chart to know if it sold more than 500.000 FW in Famitsu

(Not that I trust famitsu digital "estimates" anyway but is better tan nothing :p)

Wait, is that the ratio of digital sales to total sales for each platform, or is it just saying that (for example) of all digital sales, 40% of them are on PC? because 40% digital on the PC in the former seems really low

They add up to 100%, so I assume that 40% of Capcom's digital full game sales are on PC.

I imagine it's a bit lower than a Western publisher given that they're releasing games like RE and DMC that do well on consoles.

Okay, I realize it's very early, but the insane instant upswing to Rank 3 at launch was too funny not to share:

Excellent, started the game myself the other day and these sales are very much deserved.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
Aostia, don't worry about Super Mario Maker. I can confirm you it sold at least 22,805 copies!

Yeah, it's already higher than both Xenoblade Chronicles X and Super Mario Bros. on the All-Time Chart (thus, 17th)...actually, if it keeps on doing like this, SMM could have a relatively high digital share on overall first week sales.

And people kept telling me the 3DS version had better legs!

(I'm guessing this is retailer discounts?)

The game came out in December, and suddenly popped up out of the blue in September. It's 100% guaranteed to be retailer discounts, most likely them clearing stock ahead of the release of Samurai Warriors 4 Empires which is... on PSV, but not 3DS.

Might those sales include bundled versions?

I thought we were in September, not February!

You meant Samurai Warriors 4: Empire, I know, don't worry

I'm wondering if it's just one or two chains, since M.Create have it at 28 and Dengeki don't have it in their top 50.

Ha ha, there's so many of them coming out I'm losing track. Especially with the western releases, ha.

Thanks for the heads up.

Idol M@ster still has niche but extremely royal fanbase in Japan.. My crazy theory is if MS could secure one of their Japanese third party exclusives this definitely is the IP they should have.
IIRC this is the most successful IP among all games released in Xbox history in Japan by far, revenue wise of course.

This has 4 million downloads already!!!!

Are we sure 4 million in a day can be considered niche? :p

All you guys have to do is look up the Gundam app numbers.

You can do this calculation of dividing total revenue by total installs for an app over its lifetime. Note that AppAnnie registers NET revenue, which is the 70% left after the cut from Apple/Google.

Great apps in the West like Clash of Clans deliver something like $30 per install, could be around $40 now. Most games that survive and do ok probably do $4-$9.

Puzzle & Dragon in Japan? $120.

Gundam? The last time I saw the numbers almost a year ago, something like $800+++.

Every single install on average contributes $800.

(To be fair it had only 300,000~ installs)

The very definition of niche and royal

cause you listened the wrong people...

look at this :

Vita games have no legs confirmed !!!!11

legs are something that shows some kind of consistence over a period of time, a game that pops up out of the blue once doesn´t necessarily qualify. sales and putting overshipped games in bargain bins right before the launch of similar games in the same IP can cause spikes. In this case we are also talking about something silly as 1k units.

I wouldn't consider iM@S niche at all.

b...but Pro Yakyuu was #47 last week, #39 two weeks ago, #37 three weeks ago and #48 four weeks ago; five weeks ago didnt' chart, six weeks ago was #39 and seven weeks ago was #41 and eight weeks ago was #37

sorry to disappoint you but after TWO months in the chart this is not "popping out of the blue"... it's called
"Koushien finals in August" :p

I expected such a reaction but I´m refering to Samurai Chronicles 3, because "he listened to the wrong people", when it comes to this game...

I suspected such a reaction but I´m refering to Samurai Warriors 4.

I suspected such a reply but I wanted to point out that because I was talking about Pro Yakyuu 2015, not Samurai Warriors, and when I'm right I like to highlight it

Vita version charted in the last 16 weeks out of 18 and in the last 6 weeks it's the only version on chart; if those are not legs...

The starting and refering point is Samurai Chronicles 3s presumed legs for the already mentioned reason. The argument of it showing better legs based on this week is quite weak, and the assumption that he listened to the wrong people is even worse. But keep on with whatever you are trying to do.

Lol. You're really going to make a fuss out of that comment?

It was just a joke. I remember there being discussion after it first charted that the Vita opened better but 3DS version was having better legs. In reality, neither version had any notable legs (3DS version was a bit better, but nothing worth writing home about). It was just amusing seeing the Vita version back in the chart (and as I said in that original post which you somehow missed and which L~A agreed with, it's just retailer discounts which isn't the same as legs).

It was nothing serious, calm down.

What do you mean? There's no voice chat or in-game keyboard use in MH4U online at all. This is what I mean by communication limitations.
A misunderstanding on my part then, i thaught you were talking about problems with the wirelss connection. No text typing at least is a weird omission.
