It's like the least anime anime ever. I think that's what I like about it.

Nope, some better examples of unconventional anime:

Most get introduced en masse

Really it just seems like they shoved every S Rank hero on there

80s Montage

Most of them don't actually get followed in the story really

Murata's posters all have the same core cast, even though a half of them haven't been touched on much (or at all) in the manga either.

It's a huge tease but I'd not worry about it.

Also this.

I know guys. I've read the manga.

What I mean is that I don't see how they'll get to the point when Fubuki shows up, for example.

Ah yes, the eternally useless debate of how "anime" an anime (or something inspired by anime) is :p

OPM is pretty damn "anime", c'mon

we should really have a manga/webcomic thread for this series :/

New content comes out too infrequently. Everybody would binge on the ONE or Murata versions and then sit around depressed waiting for new drippings of content :p

Why does this even exist LMAO

Holy fuck am I tired of dumb people writing off One-Punch Man after one chapter/episode because "the shtick'll probably get tired after a while"

I don't think ONE should reveal more of his powers origins than what he has already hinted (at least not the inner workings). Same as there is no explanation as how someone who eats crabs becomes a crab monster. Just say he did something, and whatever is off with Z-City did the rest.

Well, you said it, if they were smart they would know better and would enjoy a very fun show.

Yep. It wouldn't be as funny if there actually was another explanation.

I really hope the explanation is never retconned.
But somehow I think if it ever is retconned they will say Saitama was sent to Earth as a baby and his powers were unlocked after his hard training, but I hope not because the subversion in the show would be undermined. Who knows though.

I've been reading/watching Fist of the North Star & One Punch Man back-to-back, and I'm really curious to know who would win in a one on one fight: Kenshiro, or Saitama?

Saitama is a gag character and so could only be defeated by other gag characters.

*EDIT* Beaten like Mumen Rider.

Yo does anyone know where I can buy the full OP from Jam Project?

I need it for reasons. YouTube link got taken down.

This is plausible, also I would like to know officially how Saitama got his power, but I don't know if we'll find out. Another endgame could possibly be Saitama getting a satisfying fight.

This battle made me think that that satisfying fight could be with a stronger Genos, but that'll be too predictable/lame.

We already know how he got his powers.

Retcon is a thing, and is dubious in anime ripe with shonen tropes even if they are the butt of the joke. It's not impossible if we get a "real" reason.

Though yeah, I would hope they keep his training regime as the de facto stance.

I didn't know that MvC poster was from Murata. Dat Shinkuberserkerslash.

Also, Eyeshield 21 is pretty great itself.

Let's just have the rest of our lives and the total of human history drawn/recorded by Murata for future civilizations to witness. Can we do that? We can do that right?

Recently I saw a (fan-made?) manga of Saitama v.s. Vegeta, and another of Saitama v.s. Buu and Hercule, and it made me hit up Hulu to watch the available 5 episodes. I'm blown away by how funny and entertaining the show is. I can't wait for more episodes! The humor-action ratio is pretty much perfect so far.

Also, there's a spot in the intro where it looks like Saitama is readying up a Kamehameha, I love it!

To me manga art isn't just who draws the most epic fight scenes, it is who makes the most use of the medium, be that weekly/monthly.

So Murata, Katsuhiro Otomo or Akira Hiramoto.
