NPD Sales Results for December 2015 [Up1: Super Mario Maker]

Considering how big the Witcher is on the overwhelmingly digital platform that is PC it is no doubt much higher than 250k digital sales. It sure to absolutely dwarf the digital split for MGSV.

So let's recap shall we. First you say Witcher 3 is disappointing because it's sales aren't that much bigger than an established well known console franchise. Then you assert that CDPRs budget was higher than Kojima's (which honestly just lmfao at that. For real wtf were you thinking) Finally you say you would be so much more impressed if digital was 250k for Witcher 3 as if that wasn't a forgone conclusion. You sure are in a roll aren't ya?

I think Witcher is over 1 million on steamspy and all third party sites and retail PC copies activate on GOG. At least at launch CDPR said they had more GOG activated copies than steam.

PC is a pretty big chunk of W3 sales.

(this is all WW obviously), maybe there's some numbers in the region specific steamspy thread.

Titanfall 2 should be pretty big, especially with it now being multiplat

Oh man, I can't fucking wait for Titanfall 2. Titanfall sealed the XBO for me and it's the next gen game I've had by far the most fun with.

I'm really looking forward to hopefully seeing it this E3 at MS's or EA's conference, it's the only game I'm really hyped about at the moment.

Witcher 3 is about 1.33 mio owners according to Steamspy, of which about 28.7% US
MGS 5 is about 0.87 mio owners according to Steamspy, of which about 32.2% US

To be fair, Witcher was longer on Steam and, most important, took part in more Steam Sales with lower discounts.

Between the two months, I think the Battlefront bundle has sold somewhere around a million. It's definitely above Fallout bundles included.

I wonder what the numbers look like with PC. Fallout 4 moved over 1m in the US on PC through the end of last year (39% share of Steamspy's 2.8M Steam total for FO4). I somehow doubt that PC Battlefront did as well.

Thanks for the numbers cream and ndp,

Amazing numbers for Blops 3, Battlefront and MKX. I wonder how Street Fighter 5 will compare to MKX numbers.

MGSV sales tell me there just wasn't as much demand for a story post 4 given how nanomachines wrapped everything up so nicely.

Steam numbers should put the sales closer to the other games in the series but it's crazy that there was no growth despite going multiplat.

It's Eurozone, cowboy.

What would you call this?

When FIFA sells more than Madden in a few years they will start to call the sport by its name: Football.

I suggest rugby with helmets for the NFL.

Why would they? Football has been associated with several games over the years, and contrary to popular belief the US didn't invent the name "Soccer". They just kept it even after other countries stopped using it and arbitrarily decided that the game to keep the name Football is the one true game. Or something.

Besides which, FIFA topping Madden would in no way mean that American Football was now less popular than Football.

Sorry if this is buried somewhere in this thread but are there numbers for Tales of Zestiria?

I want this game to do well so we get more. Thanks in advance.

Gaming hipsters.
It's asinine. It'd be like bemoaning a big budget Marvel movie grossing more than a foreign art film. So you like different things than the market at large! Good for you. Why is that "depressing?" Oh, because you conflate that with an assumption that your tastes are somehow superior, as an "enlightened gamer." This is the kind of cringeworthy attitude that spawns threads like this.

Yea, pretty much. Don't play the popular thing, I guess. *shrug*

I'm so excited to see how this years big games perform. Battlefield 5, Uncharted 4, Mass Effect, Quantum Break, whatever the next COD is, etc. etc. etc.

Pachter bold prediction on his new show is that Battlefield 5 will outsell next CoD. I doubt but would be interesting if happen.

Actually, I don't think thats impossible if its either Ghosts 2 or some other "new COD" from Infinity Ward. That studio has become the worst of the 3 COD teams, and Ghosts was received very poorly.

But if they are making MW4 that could be pretty big. Battlefield 5 will certainly be HUGE though

After gaming for over 30 years, this has always irked me, and it seems to be getting worse. Like people need to be a snowflake gamer. Want to seem so unique, but boo for those not like me, lol.

Damn looking at that MGSV split it's going to be real rough for FF15 and KH. MGSV is far more Western flavored than either of those two games and it still apparently didn't appeal to Xbox owners.

Ghosts was terrible for the franchise reputation, I don't think Activision will allow Ghosts 2.

I think a significant amount of people purchased on GOG as well. I know I did so that more money would head to CDPR. That and I like GOG more than Steam.

I think they'll go for a Ghosts 2, but Infinity Ward are going to step it up big time. They have had AW and BO3 to look to for inspiration on how to do campaign, the co op modes, multiplayer, and competitive, so I don't think they'll go straight to another franchise just yet.

Ghosts might have a bad rep, but I think somewhere in that shell of a company, IW are going to do something better with a sequel.

If it's IW's game next I expect it to sell less than the last two COD games. Their first next gen game did not review well and I don't think they can produce a high quality COD game with the team they have now.

Ghost was so bad. I seriusly hope they won't make a sequel.

About BF5 VS COD, Battlefield 3 shipped like ~17 million by September 2012 or so. I think is likely that Battlefield 3 is the peak for the series, so i don't expect BF5 to be that huge. It will definitive sell a lot, but unless Infinity Ward make a huge mess with the next COD, it will easy sell more.
