“We’re on track to win the week three weeks in a row,” said Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros. distribution executive vice president.

This is like the Dewey Defeats Truman of Hollywood news.

I remember when Civil War and BvS were set to come out the same weekend. I wonder how that turned out in the other universe where that happened.

They would have cannibalized each other, but BvS would have won the weekend just from the novelty.

Then again, if BVS reviews and Civil War reviews came out at the same time, who knows?

Not the same medium and it's not GTA, COD, or a new console release, but could Uncharted 4 May 10th release date impact CA:CW and the box office in general?

Nah that game isn't nearly big enough. Maybe if it was a massive game like COD which sells 4+ million at launch it could have a slight impact but Uncharted isn't that sized franchise

So the three most iconic superheroes on earth on going to lose to RYAN fucking REYNOLDS.

Oh My God...

2 at most. The Marvel heroes are up there, and Spidey is top 3.

Nah, Cap 3 would've killed them.

A million or so people playing Uncharted 4 for 8 hours isn't going to change much.

And this assumes that they all play through it at once...or that it's actually 8 hours. Think it's longer.

Say it with me slowly...

An R-rated cult comic book character, last seen in the critically reviled X-men Origins: Wolverine film, portrayed by the exact same actor coming off a string of colossal bombs - including both Green Lantern and R.I.P.D. - with no 3D ticket surcharge, a leaked script and leaked concept footage, that Fox had so little faith in they sat on it for over 14 years and slashed the budget to rock-bottom (basically the whole film costs double the salary that just Keanu Reeves himself was paid for the Matrix sequels), and launching in February - often a dumping ground for so-so films...

... Is going to beat BATMAN, SUPERMAN, and WONDER WOMAN... COMBINED... at the domestic box office.

Let it really, truly sink in.

I was talking about Top 5 overall, but I also figured that would probably be Disney & Disney subsidiaries, heh.

Last year, Universal set a studio record by taking 21.3% of the total domestic box office.

I don't see how Disney fails to top that this year. They are already over $600M almost entirely off the back of Zootopia and leftover TFA business.

Might be the first time we see a single studio grab a quarter of the domestic box office.

I'm not saying all that with you.
