Haha, good. I say this as a Metroid fan, the "feedback" about FF was a bunch of spoiled babies crying about "not my Metroid".

Perhaps, but it is a real shame. I have no problem with FF personally. Played the demo, wasn't sold on it so probably won't ever pick it up (unless it becomes very cheap) but I just have always felt that a 2D Metroid with 'layered' 3D effects could be amazing on the 3DS.

I wasn't expecting the announcements we got. Out of the new games I'm in for the Sports title since I need more Mario Soccer and the other sports should be good as well.

Megami Meguri
Puyo Puyo Chronicle
RPG Maker
Momotaro Densetsu
Picross 2 localization
Amiibos and Art book

Pretty much the only highlights aside from Monster Hunter Stories looking even more amazing. Pikmin might be really good depending on how well they execute it.

That was decent. Nothing huge for me, but some stuff was cute. Of the new announcements, I might actually pick up the sports game to play with friends.

I am sad about the lack of Detective Pikachu, though.

EDIT:
Where are people getting Miitopia from.

Japanese Direct just announced it.

This! (minus Picross 2, which I've had since day 1)

Not the best direct, but still a good one.

Well, my sister always seemed to sort of want to play Yoshi's Woolly World but she doesn't really like playing on the TV and barely touched it when my Wii U was around. Maybe she'd like the 3DS version.

But for the most part this really looks like Nintendo holding back for NX. Ports, 3rd party, and low intensity spin offs. Thing is, I really hope it isn't wishful thinking that they show something different when they show NX. Assuming all will be good after one event is an uncomfortable position to be in, especially with respect to Nintendo lately.

Not the stuff of my dreams, but at least there's some games coming for 3DS.

I still believe more 3rd party games will be coming as well.

Dragon Quest was cool but i've never played the franchise (anyone recommend picking up either 7 or 8 when they come out as a first DQ game?)

Confused about New Leaf. Do I have to buy the amiibo compatibility upgrade? Seriously?

Either DQ is an excellent first entry, if you buy and liked DQ 7, make sure to buy DQ 8.

The update is completely free. What you have to buy in the amiibos and amiibos cards.

I mean, it's a lot of padding in release schedules...

They already said the NX isnt a replacement for 3DS and WiiU, plus they plan to keep the 3DS alive for a lil while longer, the thing still sales.

It would be a financial suicide to delay the NX for 3DS games that are not expected to sale much, outside of the new Pokemon which comes out this year.

That sports game would have actually been really fun on the Wii U with local multiplayer. Why can't they port the other way instead?

-Pikmin 3DS doesn't look so hot unfortunately and the sidescroller idea isn't interesting in the slightest to me.

-The 2 Wii U games I didn't buy being remade for 3DS doesn't catch me either.

-This has me interested in Ever Oasis. The game just looks good, and not surprisingly given Greezo is the dev; it has that Zelda action-adventure feel.

-DQVIII must be a little too far away to give the date. Ah well.

Overall a good Direct, got me interested in a game (Ever Oasis) I didn't think I cared about.

Literally nothing? Not really sure what connection you're seeing between my post you quoted and your comment.

You said "3DS is on life support" given this slate of games. The same slate of games that will likely also go to NX... are you saying then that the NX will be "on life support" if it gets these same games?

2/10 for me.

No price cuts, free games and new features to old ones no one cares about any more. Ports from Wii U. I'd give it a 1 if not for the Mario Sports title. Just horrible.

I imagine he expects the NX to have bigger projects coming to it.

Okay watched the beginning part....alola rattata? really? Gen one pokes are starting to get tiresome, show some love for the other gens. :(

Overall, seemed like a decent Direct.

So, new Monster Hunter likely isn't coming to 3DS then, at least not exclusive to 3DS. Now wait for it to show up at Sony or NX announcement this month.

If the NX is filled with B releases and ports, then yeah, it will be on life support when it's born.

Oh shit! Monster Hunter Stories, I knew something was missing. Capcom please!

Nintendo knows the best gen is first gen.

Wii U ports, low-budget spinoffs, filler amiibos and more info on upcoming games.

This direct was exactly like I was expecting it to be and I'm totally fine with what was showed to us.
