Why is it that the people who finally pay attention to a community only to chastise them aren't really showing up in the multiple other topics on OT about police and legislators using and abusing communities? This is the shit that piles up and results in the formation of hellscapes like Charlotte yet the people most pissed that Charlotte has gotten to this point aren't in the other topics where they could be spreading the word about the very injustices that push communities to the brink

I reread a NYT op-ed about White vigilantes acting as death squads & ethnic cleansers in the aftermath of Katrina down in New Orleans. It occurred to me that inner city Black folk are at serious risk to racial terror squads in the event of any kind of natural disaster.
Angry Joe America in the suburbs is proficient with firearms, practises at the shooting range every weekend, probably has a hunting license (so he knows how to hunt & track prey), watches FoxNews, reads Drudge report & Breitbart and hates him some Black folk.
If it ever came to an open competition for water & food resources (like what happened after Katrina) we would get slaughtered.

Yeah. I think Skip growing up in Oklahoma and watching the treatment of black and native Americans plus the history of that place just eats at him. He never sounds insincere. Always speaks passionately about racial issues.
