Y'all see this? From a GameSpot video. I assume that's an NPC fighting some baddies on the left side of the screen. Pretty neat.

We already saw this mechanic in the "Life in the ruins" trailer, but it's pretty neat to see it in a gameplay video, yeah.

I wonder if that's kakariko.

Looks like a beautiful town either way. Can't wait to explore it.

I think it's a different town. This one is the one we saw during the Life in the ruins trailer. "Kakariko" would be the one with windmill in the new trailer.

As of now I think we saw three towns:
- the one from the Life in the ruins trailer, pretty small with a lot of agriculture going on.
- The one on a hill from the new trailer, probably Kakariko. Bigger.
- The one in the desert with the Gerudo symbol.

Also got a glimpse at Zora's Domain in the last trailer, probably. And I'm hoping the Gorons have one two, and the bird people. That would make six towns? Pretty good.

in the jeuxvideo interview aonuma mentioned that he played blood and wine and the last guardian. Cool to see nintendo employees mentioning games from other companies.

Just watched it. He also said that it was easier to develop on Switch because the CPU is more powerful. But as always with these translations it's hard to give too much credit to what's said.

edit: Also kind of interesting, he's confirming that the Wii U gamepad was supposed to be a full on Sheikah Slate. It would display the same information, talk to you during gameplay... It was all scrapped eventually.

What the hell is this thing:

It looks like a torso doing the "walk like an Egyptian" being hung on a clothesline...

EDIT: Oh, maybe it's a giant teapot?

I'm pretty sure that's a Goddess Statue from the back. It's not connected to the clothesline, it's in front of it in the middle of that little pond. You can see the wooden walkway leading up to its front.

It looks like a small version of the Goddess statues.

..

On a separate note:
the rooftop the large house looks like it has an upside-down sheikah eye on it. The eye is visible, and then there are three spindly "tears" jutting upwards.

Oh my god I had to stare at that for like 15 minutes to see any resemblance of the Goddess Statue, but I finally see it. I still like my "walk like an Egyptian" torso theory better though...

I love how many towns this game already has. Aside from Zelda II, this is the most towns we've seen in a Zelda game right?

3 villages isn't that much, but its ok. I hope for more. Perhaps a snowvillage, a village by the sea/or lake, every region should at least have one village. Would have loved to see a living Hyrule Town in HD. Perhaps there is timetravel.

I will say this, I am more hyped for this game than I have been for any other game in a VERY long time, but, every indoor screen I see just doesn't do it for me. The outside world is so vibrant and interesting while nearly every indoor dungeon (I assume) screen I see is just bland and boring.

I know they are saving tons of surprises but I'd love to see just a few shots showing some really interesting looking dungeons / indoor areas. Maybe I just missed them?

Most of (or all of?) the shrines we've seen kind of seem like theyre teaching you to use different items or mechanics or the runes. Even the really big one that Bill played at E3. So I assume in the middle of the game and especially towards the end they will get a lot more elaborate and challenging puzzle wise.

But if you are referring to the general aesthetic well I think youll end up disappointed. But mechanically they will certainly get better and more interesting.

No bald cap? Lies!
I've only seen one so far. How many have you seen?

3. The one from the Life in the Ruins trailer that has beetle like roofed houses and a very Japanese style overall. The European style coastal town with windmills and the desert town with water running through it, both from the latest Switch trailer.

I'm pretty sure I've seen three: the one in the screenshot, the one with the windmills (2:04 in the most recent trailer), and the one in the desert (2:05 in the most recent trailer). That's not including Zora's Domain (which I assume is what we saw in the trailer at 3:01/3:05) or wherever the Gorons and bird people live.

I was certain that we had seen four towns but I can't for the life of me think of the fourth one. Did I dream it?

Well, there's probably also gonna be a Goron, Zora and Rito village too.

Good one too, tells how he expects this game to be the 3d equivalent of the original zelda and how they did the playtests, using different tools to see the path that the players were taking. Interesting tidbit is that ueda is friends with nintendo and sent aonuma a copy of the last guardian. nice!

I completely called that Loop of exploration, wow. I feel great right now. It's a genius idea though, to help orient people in the world, just climb up and see your destination in the distance. No guiding markers on a minimap, just your eyes and curiosity.

Also confirmed, Monolith Soft Did help provide Level Designers for Breath of the Wild. So I guess we can call this game the logical Step up from Xenoblade X. More interactivity with the world space, tighter level design and routing. Give it to us already pls.

Also that Development Model sounds quite clever if a bit long for making an open world game, but it's absolutely key in balancing the game, it could be even better than even I hoped.

Majora's Mask only had 1 village...Quality > Quantity, and considering this is an open world game which we KNOW will be filled with side quests, I wouldn't be surprised if they were teeming with people with issues and quests for Link to go on

Yeah 3 well made villages would be better than what many other Zelda games offer. I was already worried that it may only include one real village. Glad that this doesn't seem to be the case.

So I wonder if it's fair to say that the bloomy look of TP is a direct homage to ICO and SOTC?

What are the chances that the OoT and MM 3DS remakes would be put on Switch at some point? My dilemma is, I want to play the remakes with all their improvements, but I also want to play those games on the big screen.

A bundle with both together with 1080p resolution (when docked) and hd textures would be cool. I would pay full price again lol.

Do you have a 3ds? If so i recommend to buy these games, i don't know how much time it will take until (if) they do it. The remakes are great.

Imagine a Switch card with all the Zelda games up to Breath of The Wild?

I would definitely buy it!

Wii U was so close to being the end-all be-all one-stop-shop for all games in their respective franchises, hopefully with the GameCube Virtual Library the Switch makes it there.

NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, GameBoy, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, that's almost everything. If they port Wii Virtual Console games and bring over enhanced Wii U ports, all that will be missing will be 3DS games. I don't know how Wii will work without IR Pointers, though ):

Gonna hang on to my Wii U for this reason. I wonder... we'll probably have to pay an "upgrade fee" for VC games we bought on Wii/Wii U, but if I buy an N64 game on Switch VC, will I be able to download it on the Wii U? I have almost every Mario game on Wii U, I'd love to do it for Zelda to play through all the games I never played/finished.

The map marking as the playtester explored the map sound REALLY interesting and smart. I wonder how that was set up.

So I get that there's no markers, a character will say "I think I saw that blue Cuccoo over by a waterfall" and you have to just go find it, but you can plop down your own markers, right? I thought I read 5 at a time? Cause I'll happily go run off into the wild to find something but I'll want to put a marker on the person I'm doing the quest for so I know where to go back to.

Yes, you can place your own markers.

You have different type of markers, the ones that you can mark while using the scope, and when, in the map, you have different categories of points of interest, so say you find a bokoblin camp that you want to visit after you finish a shrine our a specific task, you can mark it with a skull for example.
