Polygon is one of the sites I have on my RSS Newsfeed to catch up on what's going on. There's a good reason I don't give them, or Kotaku, any clicks, so I just read the headlines and catch up on the news somewhere else. Honestly? The liberal games media has some effect on sales. Kingdom Come: Deliverance and A Hat In Time should have both been hits, and while both sold okay, negative attention in the media affected them.

I’ve not seen polygon come out and literally lay it out that if such and such is going to be involved, there will be ramifications to how the game will be framed on their site. Hardly subtle and no two ways about it in this instance. Like holding a gun to someone’s head, a whole new level of disgusting.

They have done it in the past and I feel this sort of framing is implicit in how the site operates. I actually think it is preferrable for them being upfront with it so potential readers can decide on their own if they feel this dimension to reporting on the games is of interest to them or not.

Just further proof these so called gaming journalists aren’t remotely passionate or even care an iota about gaming. They only want to spread their warped ideologies everywhere and use game journalism as a social platform to express these views. I personally do not care for the politics of creators of games as long as they do not influence the game negatively, but others do. It is fine if a publication exists where people who do care about such things can trust they are discussed in the product reviews so they can make an informed dicision. If you do not care for this perspective, read another publication. This is incomparable to killing people.

I can't understand why political or societal views become so important in gaming ? When I was Younger I was listening to Led Zeppelin a lot, they were junkies and alcoholics, I didn't like their way of life but their music was amazing beyond that, what they do in their personal life wasn't my problem and if in someways it helped them gave Birth to their music, then so be it. Why gaming should be any different ? When I play a game, it's not like I'm forced to spent an evening with its creators, I just play their game and I like it or not, that's it and if I find a content too problematic, I stop playing it. I did that with Manhunt back in the day because I don't mind violence and gore but I dislike gratuitous violence but I'm also supporting the right for a developper to make the game he/she wants and if it's not my taste, it's my problem, not his/her fault.
