You know, I honestly wish my boomer family members would do this. They are fucking so wrapped up in Facebook drama, it's sad as fuck. It's like high school 2 for them whereas I avoid social media like the plague.

Spoiler alert: I'm still highly depressed, stressed, and work hard on zero energy. I agree that some people focus on negativity but there are real problems out there right now too for the youth, education first and foremost being the bigges, only secondary to the foods they eat. That's not the internet's fault.

Tldr: Ignoring Facebook doesnt make the food I buy any more nourishing nor job opportunities more plentiful nor my paycheck any less pathetic.

I think it's actually harmful to society as a whole. The whole Instagram culture of only showing the best parts of your life and hiding the rest also effects those who see it. They ask themselves "why isnt my life this perfect?" when, if they were using logic, theyd realize no ones life is like that. You're looking at a commercial sizzle reel of a life, not the uncut footage behind the scenes.

Yet again, not just a millenial problem. You old fucks are just as bad at this internet shit if not worse, using facebook messenger like its aim.

I swear, if I didnt know her personally, I'd swear my mom was a spambot. Thank god I deleted that shit years back but before I did, I could already see most of the older people on my list, like 50s to 70s, were WAYYYYYY more into facebook than me.

That said, you make it seem like people have a choice behind their own brain chemistry. Yes, there are many "tricks of the trade" so to speak, but at a point, sometimes you're only capable of what your capable of. So no, I'm not choosing to be stressed. I try and distract myself constantly but theres only so far you can go, only so many drugs you can take, only so many extra hours you can take or shows/tv I can watch or people I can fuck before the real world seeps back in.

Because that's what reality is.

For what it's worth, had I been born maybe ten years earlier, I would have been a prime candidate for massive doses of xanax. Now, doctors just think I'm drug seeking, leaving the medicating to me, I, and myself.

I try to maintain a huge amount of control over even the most minute of aspects of my day, probably to an insane degree compared to most (as in it would most likely drive other people crazy), just in efforts to stay positive about life in general, let alone the entire fucking planet if I'm being honest but yeah, shit gets away from everyone sometimes I suppose.
