Something feels off about Xbox Series X unveiling , a month later & it still don't feel like a next generation console was unveiled

I think you completely missed what OP was trying to say.
In any case, Sony will release maybe two or three -at the most- PS5 exclusives on launch. So probably on par with MS. Is Sony late to the party as well?
Two or three is better than zero. And you know what I mean, you are just pretending to not understand.

I dont think it is possible to excite fanboys like you. Xbox Series X reveal video on YouTube got more response than Xbox One and One X, even though this is not the proper reveal yet.

What? I was just as hyped as anyone else when they revealed the console that still don't change the fact that it don't feel like they unveiled a new generation of Xbox . It seem more like they are trying to get the message out that it's not a completely new generation

Oh come on. You were just excited to post in NeoGaf how disappointed you are.

It doesn’t feel real yet and it’s not surprising at all. You don’t see ads at GameStop, no commercials, no preorders, and nothing else to talk about except Hellblade. Sony is the same way. There are game(s) still being treated like they are important for the industry to grow.

It’s way too soon to be worried. Outside of some internet articles and the footage from the VGA’s, what do we have for proof that this thing even exists. I’m not even ordering games for it for the next 10 or so months.

Walk inside a GameStop and it’s like the VGA’s never existed. I think it’s far too soon to feel anything. I feel dry air. The seasons will change before we get a deeper look at any of these consoles.

All of this, for a 2 min trailer!

Seriously, you people are pathetic.

They showed no features, no real gameplay, no price, no specs, no nothing except for a design and some foliage, rocks and water.

It was a literal teaser video; nothing more, nothing less.

But somehow, it warrants some deep, analytical dive and diatribe about why it "doesn't feel next gen".

I remember before Neogaf made all the changes and updates, and you had to wait or be invited to become a member. I always used to just read as a guest; never posting. I mean, back then there were some stupid, toxic threads and posts back then too... But as soon as it got the face-lift, I joined. I figured, what the heck!

But this... This is what gaf has to offer me? This is beyond asinine!

Get the console reveal out of the way to make way for the games reveals at E3 or whatever solo event MS has planned.
One thing is a bit odd is revealing Series X during The Game Awards.
It's not that big of an event to showcase a new system so why reveal it then.

Whatever they are, they would be announced soon.

And regardless of how few they might be, Sony isn't going to try to argue that they "released less exclusives to be proconsumer".

i am guaranteeing that Microsoft never once intentionally decided that Scarlet would have no exclusives until 1 year after. That there was no decisions made, it was forced on them once the studios fall behind. And that anything they say to justify it is just talk.

And all the massive threads discussing game quality of cross gen games is entirely irrelevent, because since microsoft didn't plan for any of this, there was no stratedgy and there is no point discussing if it was a good decision or not. There was no decision made to begin with.

The install base grow by making games that justify the purchase. You got it backwards, you make the exclusives to grow the install base, not the other way around.

And that is why MS was making Scarlet exclusives, just like Sony and Nintendo would. But the studios just didn't make the launch deadline. This fact is being repeated because multiple threads are pretending that MS is somehow porting down all Scarlet games, when the reality is that there was no Scarlet games announced, and all the games we know are Xbox One games ported up. Halo being the prime example.

Source?

Somehow everyone in life can understand product quality and newness in kitchen appliances, TVs, cpus ad gpus, and cars even when the product name or code is weird and not in sequential order.

Yet for video games, people have issues?

But maybe I'm wrong and PC users still think a GTX 8800 is still the most powerful card out there.

When I had a Civic 20 years ago I had the middle model (LX). There was also a DX and EX model at the time. I firget which one was worse and better, but LX was the middle. Yet chronologically it goes DX, EX, LX. Pretty sure people can use their head and look into the guts instead of just numerical/letter order.

I don‘t understand how they could ever buy a TV in this day and age if these few console choices are bewildering them.

I think it's just that neither company has actually revealed anything yet. We will get a much better look at the XSX at E3, and I expect a bigger blow-out of info. UI, features, games, ect. I'm not a big fan of the fake reveals so far.

And when that actually happens, it's hype time.

Exactly, I was going to say E3 where most of us will get very moist..and goosies all over our bodies.😇

Who knows.

Hmmmm...... Xbox Series X vs. Xbox Lockhart. Fuck, that's tough. Even though a million websites show spec charts and the zit faced kid at the counter tells me Series X is more powerful and BC, but at an extra $100, I still don't get it.

But good news wife and kids! On the way home, I stopped off at Best Buy, checked out the 8 brands of TVs, each with 3 different tiers, and each tier at 3 sizes each and I figured out in half an hour the Samsung 65" XXX999 is the best model. This model has an extra HDMI port, better motion smoothing, full array, and the contrast ratio is an extra 10,000:1 ratio. I have no idea what this shit means, but it sounds good and the sales guy said get it.

Looks like it' worth paying $2,000 over the $1,200 Vizio. No problem.

“But dad,you didn’t consider the input lag. The TV you bought has a 21ms lag and I really wanted the one that only had 19ms. Im going to die on CoD over and over again and it’s going to be your fault.”

The Xbox Series X is a forthcoming home computer game console. Xbox Series X comprised a passage in the fourth era of Xbox equipment.

Nothing substantial from either Sony or Microsoft have been shown. The fact some people are quick to assume which will have the upper hand is :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Dont underestimate the capacity of people to get confused by the most ridiculous things. Like "mm, ps5 is newer but this one says its PRO!"
PS4 Pro = PS5 simple math says so.

PS4 + Pro = 5.

Or it’s not proficient.

I do believe this is the point of the thread now. Since they have both had official unveilings, one through Wired and a logo. One with an ad at the VGAs we are allowed to judge them now and say they are both boring.

Its up to them to prove me wrong.

I hope all those gamers who bought Modern Warfare know it's the latest Call of Duty game in a MW setting.

Just want to make sure people don't confuse it with the old Modern Warfare from 2007.

Activision should have played it safe and called it [Modern Warfare 2019].

I think I might be caught in a time loop. 10 years ago I was playing Halo Reach, Modern Warfare and God of War.

This year I’m playing Halo Reach, Modern Warfare and God of War.

It was just a tease, I think that in this climate, where everyone is insider and no one sees this coming, I think that at least MS calmed down the next-gen discussion. At least we have something, you know?

Oh shit. Did you buy the right one? It's so hard to tell the difference between two games with the same name. lol

Since you're experienced with buying games with vague naming nomenclature, can you tell everyone what's harder?

1. Telling the difference between buying two games called Modern Warfare

or

2. Telling the difference between buying two games where the naming is different like God of War 3 vs God of War: Judgement, or Halo 4 vs. Halo Reach?

I just went in and bought the one that was cheapest. I figured my Zoomer grandkids wouldn’t know the difference.

But they did and now they all call me boomer at holiday tables.
