Sorry for the CCPNN, but at least there are hard numbers:

There is a growing body of evidence that we are off by anywhere from 10x to 100x on what the true total numbers of infections are, which means that the true death rate is 10 to 100x less than what we are seeing. It could be possible that the death rate of COVID-19 is barely higher or even slightly lower than the flu (0.1% or 1-in-1000) - it is just much more infectious and spreadable, so the overall death numbers are higher, and infects many more people asymptomatically so they are unlikely to be tested.

Of course, if the flu managed to infect the entire US we would expect 330,000 people to die, so we would still need to contain it, but if these stats stay consistent individuals do not have much to worry about. Ironically, it could really just be the flu on an individual basis.

Why not just rope it off, or send police to watch it? Eventually someone is going to have to clear out all that sand. Sounds like it is just making money for some local construction group - fill it up, then clean it out.

Bullshit.

A lot of studies points to a CFR of about 0,4-0,7%. German study that was criticized a lot last weeks for being "too positive" said the Death Rate is at about 0,39%. The Study tested 1000 eople from the worst hit City in germany, basically the Ground Zero (Heinsberg). From the 1000 people, 150 people had the diesease (They where either still ill or had antibodies). So 15% of the population in that Town had the disease and 0,4% died when infected.

We are talking about the worst hit city in Germany.

Vitamin D deficiency (Diabetes/Obesity the main cause) is the number 1 factor causing the deaths/hospitalizations.
And we live in a lockdown world, where they are basically telling everyone to stay inside to become Vitamin D deficient.

Only to be unleashed during flu season.

Second wave looks like it's going to fun.

Makes me wonder, given what is at stake and how every fucking month of covid-19 world costs, can't production be boosted upfront further than 1 million by September.

It's rather more complicated than making a pair of knickers, requiring specialized equipment and highly-skilled staff who do not exist in infinite number.

Can't stand that Gemma Collins from TOWIE and now she's making a show called "Diva in Lockdown".

Surely SURELY people ignore this as it's just taking advantage of the scenario and shame on ITV for doing this show when Celebrity Status means fuck all during this pandemic.

SoCal is getting a heat wave this weekend. There are a lot of people who don't have air conditioning and rely on places like malls and move theaters when it gets hot. People being on house arrest this weekend is going to kill a lot of people in SoCal.

Gaf I decided to ask you guys a question I wanted to ask the other site I’d probably be banned or blacklisted
My nephew’s birthday is Saturday and my family and I was thinking of going. Here’s the thing I work everyday with more then fifty people crew (we’re essential) department of defense. Three people were positive and they’re back now. My sister watches them daily since both me and my wife work and she works at walmart I mean my kids want to see their cousin if we keep our masks and gloves on and check our temp before is it okay what say you ?

It’s a risk. You know this. If you stay outside, try and social distance, wear a mask...: you can minimize that risk.

Staying outside in a mask is probably a good idea.

that said, if it’s a bunch of new kids over, and your kids are playing (as opposed to just them and your nephew) then you are taking a much bigger risk. in that scenario i wouldn’t go.

stay safe out there.

We've had two kid birthdays during this nonsense, and we respected the social distancing and didn't have people over. We did a "drive by" thing for one of them, so that was cool.

All that being said, we're all staying home (working from home) so there is minimal daily risk, we didn't feel it was worth it to have a normal bday party.

Since your kids already are going there daily, you likely have anything they have and vice versa. If this is a family-only affair, I can't think it'd be much more dangerous than your normal routine. If they're inviting OTHER families, I'd stay away (and honestly not have her do day care for a bit to be sure).

You also have to keep the ruling class safe while the peasants starve and die.

While one must think critically, just assuming constant malfeasance by others ultimately serves no purpose other than to look edgy. Looking edgy is, however, the preserve of 14 year old boys. I do hope you're not one. Better instead to consider practical reality instead, which is that scaling up manufacturing takes time and energy. You're welcome to indulge in your fantasy of course, no doubt you also consider the lack of infinite funds in your bank account to be the result of the elite fucking you over, and I wish you the best of luck with that world view.

No the lack of funds in my back account is the result of a Tyrant governor who believes he is the king of a "Nation State" (his own words) because his auntie is the speaker of the house.

Oh you live in California? Ouch. Visited LA in 99 (stayed at Hermosa beach after an accidental night in Inglewood) and it was a lovely place, no doubt about it, and lots of lovely people (perhaps my view was coloured by the interest the local ladies were taking in me due to my British accent) but I'd never want to live there now due to the insane cost of living and mad policies.

I live 5 minutes from the beach. Either way I go.. Newport on one side, Huntington on the other. I am tempted.

This is the conclusion my wife and I have said it’s not a party it’s only My family and my sister and hers. We all agreed to masks and temperature checks thank you gaf your advise is truly appreciated

Damn, that's horrible. He looks healthier than most 60 year olds.

Hopefully her track record with the truth continues, and the dude is just fine!

Smoking for the win. Next is to find out weed smoking and masturbation keeps the CV away. I knew my day would come.

Lol. That story isn't gonna hold water long. Not with all the smokers who are keeling over from lung issues brought on by this mess.

Welp, I doubt one needs people with PhD in biology to work on it, but in any case, at 1 million in 5 month pace, we only have to wait for about 3'300 years to vaccinate existing population of about 8 billion, and mere 25 years to vaccinate UK population.

I wonder if your tune would change if it was someone close to you?

Absolutely. We MUST bring the death count down to as close to zero and after the epidemic is over; we should consider how social aspects of interaction and commerce should be changed up.

Especially care homes. There needs to be an independent audit into how care homes are run and how they allowed so many elderly people die from this sickness.

I keep wondering where is all these new case come from. Most of the united state is under some kind of shelter at home order. In IL, there was 2 thousand new cases, there are zero gathering since st. patrick day and votign stating, how on earth thousand of peopel gettign infected.

Are you on drugs? We haven't brought flu deaths, cancer deaths, AIDs deaths to zero. What makes you think they can bring this to zero?

I said as close to. We need to avoid preventable deaths. As an example of what I mean, recently in london there was several bus drivers who died from the virus that they caught while on duty. Thats a preventable death.

We must remember we are the nations that stamped out polio and other diseases with aggressive vaccination programs. Cancer and AIDs are complicated but thankfully medicine is catching up.

This is exactly what happens when you politicize a virus with the feelings doctrine.

Its nothing to do with politics its about doing what is morally and ethically right.

Put it this way, you're not going to put ex-burger-flippers into the production line. Think about the complexities involved in creating something like this, honestly it's huuuuuugely complex. As for your time estimates - I'd disagree with those. They reckon they can do a million before the end of the year, but it's fair to say that they won't stay static at that level of production capacity, and if their vaccine proves to be the best fit then you'll start to see other pharma production facilities being roped in, so the UK gets a faster rate of production, and then likely licensed production in Europe and America for those markets, which means you'll get a far better rate of production than your projections.

I don't think I dropped a feelings doctrine I was merely stating a rebuttal to a moronic statement that someone's granny died when it's so much more than that. Though at the end of the day it doesn't hurt to have a little compassion it a time like this.

People are being a bit harsh on Jordan here - his situation sounds pretty stressful. I agree that an ambulance isn’t the right call but when you’re faced with something like this none of us can be perfect emotionally detached robots. We’re all human and can all have the shit scared out of us in this situation.

Good post. Also, awesome new avatar!

You're demanding a cure for a coronavirus, which is similar to the common cold. Which we've NEVER cured before. You're demanding the impossible, because you know it's impossible, and instead demanding a dystopian socialist "utopia" in substitution for something that's impossible to achieve. It's the same argument the Democrats in the US are making with TEST ALL 320 MILLION PEOPLE OR ELSE!
