You have to realize you were not the only one that had all tabs open and ready.
MS really made a bad call by giving a specific time for orders to go up. I am not sure how so many people got multiple orders in, Walmart and target sold out in minutes.

Managed to snag one of the Gamestop bundles. I was planning on buying Valhalla anyways and the 3 months of ultimate will just get tacked onto my existing sub. Good lord all those consoles went quick!
Liked how Gamestop just put you in a queue and you could somewhat take your time after that. Pretty decent implementation by them all things considered.

I give up, I tried for awhile but Microsoft store kept hanging and amazon is sold out. Frustrating part is I got to the payment screen and it kept hanging. Not going to waste anymore time on this. I will get one later, same for PS5.

I wish I could still preorder one now through Microsoft, and then just have it shipped whenever it becomes available. Put me on a list but don’t have me searching all over the internet for when stock becomes available again.

I think that has something to do with Amazon possibly over selling allotment and they sent those emails saying it might not arrive on time, mine says the same thing.

Yeah, the MS/Xbox.com store is weird. I would keep a tab open for that and keep trying. Same with GameStop, Amazon, etc. Just listen to a good podcast or youtube episode and chill while you wait.

MS doesn't control the e-commerce stores of the other sellers though. Sony's was chaos due to it just happening. This one's chaos was caused by Best Buy and Amazon not starting at 11am est as they were supposed to. Moved everyone to the other stores, causing even more traffic on them.
Could it have been better? Yes. But these things are really hard for any website to handle, no matter how much planning you put in place. It could have been a lot worse

Pre-orders have been open for +10 hours now, both xboxes are still available in my country
I'm considering cancelling my Series X preorder. I have a PC with a 2070 Super so it seems kinda redundant. I thought it'd be nice to have a gamepass box for the TV but on second thought I'm fine just playing the MS exclusives on my PC.
I'd like it to go to someone who really wants it but idk how to do that.

You still will be able to preorder. They will release more batches before launch. I couldn't secure a OG Xbox one at launch but was able to preorder one through my 360 like 3 weeks before launch. Got it day 1.

Overall, getting a Series X was fairly easy in my area(in Europe), could've gotten 5 units if I really wanted to.

.. 10:03 for an 11 AM pre order? ... ummm yeah.. they said 11 AM. Their page was borked by then. So, yeah... they couldn't handle the traffic either.
I tried around then to help a friend get one and I couldn't get in. I couldn't get Best Buy to load the page on my PC after a while, just got an oops message. Much later, I found out it sold out, likely using their mobile app. While my PC couldn't get access to any item on Best Buy after a while, their mobile app loaded right up and showed the Series X gone.
I finally got in to Gamestop.com, got approved for All Access, and then couldn't complete the checkout process because they were sold out, even though, I was able to get to the complete order screen.
All kinds of fun.
