Bumped into an interesting bug, effectively making it impossible to complete certain missions.

One NPC target is somehow the objective of two missions, the issue is apparently once you do one mission and take the target off of the board the other mission becomes impossible to finish because the target is no longer on the field
.

Pretty much just caused me to throw away a day's worth of progress once I realized what's happening. On the bright side it's kind of unique how the game seemingly tracks targets to such a precise degree.

I'll probably just roll WAY back to a previous save. I did learn a lot about how certain skill trees work so I guess I'll be able to re-work things a bit along the way.

I think NPCs might be bugged on consoles, because when I shoot, they immediately start screaming and running away, but from what I saw on consoles they just duck.

Also, not sure why everyone wants NPCs to have multiple dialog lines and why reddit is having meltdown that there is no barber in the game.
Are those features really so important for people?

I think people are wanting more everyday immersion. I can understand it, and I would imagine that CDP are most definitely going to build out the game more in terms of those aspects, as they are undoubtedly keeping a firm eye on what's being said on Reddit and the boards. The priority at the moment is undoubtedly going to be on bug fixing and stability/performance issues (especially for the consoles). But I could imagine they are already looking at addressing those sorts of things. I'm hoping that early in the new year we will get some announcements on the DLC plans.

Compare and contrast to this guy looking in the pressshot like he has purpose.. :)

It's a s'hame that the game has this glitch and per formance problems on consoles, because in every aspect as a game is just incredible, as The Witcher 3, the sum of its parts is what makes it amazing.

I'm having a deja vu situation with Cyberpunk and Fallout New Vegas, which was very criticed at launch because it was a janky mess and but currently is considere One of the greatest rpgs of all time.

Thats the case with many things in life, you know? ;)

Like Eristotle (the discordian) used to say - its the sum of the parts, that makes a thing.

AI also has 'out of sight, out of mind problems. :) If you ever manage to lure cops, but then hide in an ally, where you are unable to see them - they will talk all day about getting reinforcements, but they will not close in. :)

Also sometimes I could swear, that cars only spawn in the direction you are looking in for basic traffic. :) But then, thats not the meat of the game... :)

Inconsistancies in tone, and those about 19 different advertisements, which are all pretty edgy for no reason, the superdeformed iconography, the dudes walking around screaming GTAV, the 'lore' setup that feels like it all can be put into one novel with a city much larger having 'nothing to say' that transcends that. The suspension of disbelieve that you have to force yourself into when it comes down to finding 'the Moxy' cool, or some other gang menacing. The constant 'this world is so f*cked up' that defies internal logic (where is the cool, where is the 'heart' (filmterm)), where is...

This game has more in common with 'Trevor having worked in GTAV' than with Cyberpunk. :)

And then the constant voice actors overplaying it because they think they are voicing a silly cartoon. There is no 'noir gravitas'. Mike Pondsmith can tell you all day this is the political intrigue he thought up in the 90s, this is a world populated by archetypes, doing archetypal stuff, while everyone else is playacting GTAV in tone and watching depressing ads.

That they mimicked _all_ the Deus Ex systems, isnt the worst thing. Acting as if Militech makes you scared, because of nothing more than a logo, in a happy go lucky californa dreaming world gone sour - is. :)

Tone is all over the place.

Play the recent Shadowrun games for cyberpunk done more right in tone, even though its Shadowrun. (Fantasy influence.)

edit:

Also who thought of making the Daryl Hannah character a crazy esoteric lady, which will surely fill in the 'irrational' to add mystique and somehow, emotional grounding in esoteric terms - but literally - in esoteric terms was a great idea, has no idea. No idea what that character meant to Bladerunner, no idea what that character meant to a J.F. Sebastian, no idea, how the emotionality was grounded in lonelyness - but not quite despair yet. If you understand the 'Aeris' theme in FF7, and then decide to make that character an esoteric lady that wants to 'lay the cards for you'....

Game needed more Terry Gilliam (never thought I'd ever say that), and less Mike Pondsmith.. ;)

These are all absolutely valid points from what I've seen so far! Well said. Although I've found this game has a lot of heart in some of the side quests.

That said, I went into this game under no illusions: I was basically going to pay to be a beta tester on an absolute technological marvel of an unfinished game which may or may not have good writing.

I was absolutely right and I am still having a blast with it.

Lotta arguing about civilian/police AI, figured I'd give it a test...

My findings were yeah, the police totally teleport to you when you commit crimes, they also seem to be unable to get in cars and chase you. However civilians don't always just crouch down and hold their heads, they do run away... sometimes they run away so far they vanish?? Cars sometimes plow through you but mostly stop, it's annoying shooting at them only seems to have people jump out instead of some people peeling out and leaving.

Running everything on ultra to include ray tracing as well and one thing that took the immersion away is the reflection of your character against a reflective surface is not there. The game is selective when it wants to show you your characters reflection (specific mirrors like in your apartment, or in photo mode). Kind of disappointing :(.

Everyone’s curious to see what Black Chamber Black Chamber think’s of the game, but he’s keeping us in the dark, ey? ;)

I believe he sent a DM concluding it was a transphobic game and he was uninstalling it.

Ah that's a shame. I noticed this on the reflective door of your stash but chalked it up to running a 1080 Ti.

It's kind of a point to how crazy it can create a sense of place - sometimes - that small details like that are what it takes to pull you out of it though. When this game is on, it's fucking on.

Decided to drop raytracing because the 60 fps cost is too much and playing at ultra @ 100 fps is too good to pass up. Maybe I'll replay it when 4080 launches with raytracing as well.

Thinkinh of doing just that or maybe just keep RT reflections. Getting 55-70 fps and it feels bad in combat with m+kb even with g-sync. Guess I got spoilt by high frames.

I just started the game on PC. Things in the distance look strange. I'm not sure what the blurring is doing. It looks very strange.

I turned off DLSS, motion blur, depth of field. I'm on Ultra otherwise. Just looks very strange.

First hour impressions:
Finally got to play this last night, I’ve been trying to play it through Geforce Now to get ray-tracing but after two nights of waiting in a queue I gave up and installed it on the PC instead. No ray-tracing with a 1080ti but it still looks great!

I’m disappointed in the limited body options for the character creator, only two bodies, male or female, both tall and skinny. You have 6x choices how the schlong should look compared to how the body should look. Come on devs, be better!

I like the hair styles. Impressive variations and physics is great.

The beards looks really bad, at least on the 1080ti, looks like a bad cut and paste Photoshop job.

Car driving is surprisingly solid, didn’t expect anything this serious in a RPG, super impressed by all of that.

I had some weird bug at the start with a layer of trees and bushes showing on top of everything, making it almost impossible to see anything in the middle of the screen. Not sure if the day 1 patch was installed though.

All in all, great to finally be playing this after waiting so long, it isn’t living up to my expectations in some areas but in other areas things are way better than expected.

And most importantly. I felt no motion sickness! The first person perspective is always a gamble for me but Cyberpunk seems to work perfectly. 👌

Can my brain just not comprehend full raytraced gameplay?

Zooming into the distance and moving makes the game look like animated concept art.

Just received the game, put the data disc in, after a minute of copying data the PS5 crashed and the report problem of system software pop up. This is the first since launch. Oh boy. I didn’t even started the game yet.

Okay so the game is blurry by design. What the fuck CDPR. The game looks like fucking trash.

It's like you just decided to skip all the screenshots posted here and drop your comment . All the PC are sharp AF

I believe CP 2077 will see non-stop praises had they only release PC version first . From what I played on the PC so far it has been near flawless

The traffic AI is just... remarkably bad. It 100% on rails and can't deal with dynamic situations whatsoever. GTAIV did it better and that came out 12 years ago.

Nothing that can't be fixed I guess, but still disappointing. Game also needs a drastic boost in vehicles on the streets.

Also - why are there no parking spaces anywhere? Like seriously, there's nothing. Almost never a car on the side of the road or anything. So weird.

What..You cross the street and look back and they're already piled up they're going so fast. There are too many vehicles on the damn streets, at least in Watson or if not that they're going to fast and like you said, on rails, they need to be slowed down so you don't end up causing a traffic jam deciding which street to cross. At least 1.02 on PRO.

I'm not at the desert yet but so far everything looks as sharp as it can be , even from a distance . And this is with DLSS Balance

I hear that the TAA is responsible. Raytracing apparently also introduces bloom and blurriness.

I'll play with it more tomorrow.

I'm also on Raytracing Ultra all the time , and I don't think you can do anything with TAA . Perhaps different DLSS setting , were you on DLSS performance ?

I don't know what to think about this game, it's fun to play, 7/10 but such potential is wasted.

If only they had made a decent Ai, and they would have released a game without bugs and working properly on consoles... 10/10 clearly.

Next year Cyberpunk Online is to be released, without a working Ai I don't see any success. They have to improve it.

Can anyone who has played through Watson's missions or is in Watson, help me out with 1.04 on PRO. Does it first make anything worse? And what are the most obvious fixes you've noticed. Is it worth updating over 1.02?

I turned off DLSS. You can disable the TAA by hex editing the exe.

Out in the desert I bet it is the raytracing causing poor imagery with the bloom and all. That makes a lot of sense. I bet the city does look a lot better.

I started as a Nomad.

Wow, reddit is in full meltdown - "everything is bad blah blah blah", and here I am playing the best AAA game of the last five years. Could the AI be better and be more like GTA, or some contextual options added like taking a piss, so that you can "immerse yourself" more? Sure. Could the itemization on weapons and clothes be better? Sure. Could you have real high speed chases on the higway with super advanced racing AI? Sure.

But in the end it doesn't matter, that's not what it's about - the core of the game, it's ghost in the shell: the world, characters and story are light years beyond what others in the industry can offer. I don't remeber the last time I was actually emotionally affected by the game, but here, every gesture, every voice line (even Keanu is surprisingly good) fucking sells it. It's groundbreaking, for real.

Fully agreed with you there . That subreddit is a trash place for whiny console kids . None of them are talking about the game at all , not even a post about Kojima cameo
