Nothing for me, so very disappointed. The highlight was the smash bros fighter reveal, although I don’t play it.
I love Zelda so much, but for me skyward sword was the worst game in the series. And that’s it, no collection or anything, just the usual Nintendo cash grab?
Then comes one more reveal and it’s Splatoon 3, never cared about the series, so go me a big disappointment.

It's part of HD 2D series, same as Octopath Traveler. But no connection for the story and gameplay. I think the developer is different since you got Artdink logo in the demo. For Octopath, the developer was Acquire.

Anyway super hyped for Mario Golf the most, didn't realize Bravely Default 2 was already out next week so that's sweet. Octopath Fire Emblem Tactics looks fun, shame it's 2022. I'll wait for reviews of No More Heroes 3 but the idea of doing odd jobs for money to fight bosses is funny to me.

I'm intrigued with the composer, Akira Senju. He has composed some music for anime and many music for Japanese drama. I think it's his first time composing for game.

After checking the videos: not a bad Direct at all. Like always, people have fuckton of expectations and then they are not met. I also wanna see Bayo3, Metroid Prime and BOTW2, but ffs, we need to be realistic given the situation that affected the world.
I still have to play Splatoon 2, XBC2 and finish the first Xenoblade. And now I just got the Mario all stars collection, there's a lot of good games on the switch right now, not in a hurry.

Was hoping for more but from what we got am the most excited for the Ninja Gaiden Collection. I wasn't into parry mechanic games when they came out but later got into Sigma 2 on Vita but never finished. Loved Shinobi, Bayonetta, etc. so looking forward to finishing Sigma 2 and playing the dreaded NG3!
Another one announced today I never finished is Skyward Sword. The motion controls were pretty good with the motion+ so will be happy to try again on Switch but seems more like $20 IMO.

Wowza, am I glad I moved from Nintendo to pc gaming. By all accounts, this detect was awful. Mario golf and Splatoon 3 and that's pretty much it for first party? Yuck, maybe ok for the most super casual but not someone that counts this as a hobby and plays everyday.

Well this direct surpassed my expectations in a pleasant way. I do my best to keep my hype and expectations for Nintendo really low so this direct easily surpassed it. As someone who tends to play more Japanese games this direct was pretty great for me. I will say that I do wish Nintendo did more than make this a trailer playlist. Create a special short, make a music video, do some live action skit. Do something to break up the games and make each direct unique and something to really look forward to.
edit: I feel I should clarify I do my best to keep my hype and expectation in check for Sony and Microsoft events as well. I've simply been burned too many times by getting over hyped for a conference or a game.

Your post is just further proving my point about reading comprehension. The point of my post was in response to someone baffled by people crying that this is somehow "all" we are getting this year. Despite Nintendo stating numerous times that this is just a general direct for the first half of 2021 with the second half more than likely being shown off at or around E3 (early June).
(Also not to mention that you are stating an opinion as fact, which is equally as infantile).

Also Rise looks *so* damn good! Wasn't sold on it with the original trailer nor the demo ( just felt like another MH game with a few unique gimmicks), but man this latest trailer just hyped me up.

I like Monster Hunter too and that's really my game of the direct.
It's just that the dearth of first party releases for a company that makes this much money is shocking and yet people defend them like the output is good. It's not. It's all remasters and low budget rubbish and has been for a year.

On the contrary, there is so much to play on the Switch (and soon there will be NMH3, Monster Hunter, Bravely Default 2 amongst others) that I simply can't understand how there can be complaints about "now games".

Langrisser 1 and 2, Grandia HD Collection, Mario 3D All Stars (Galaxy + Sunshine haven't ever been re-released outside of Galaxy's low quality Chinese PC release), No More Heroes 1 and 2, Fire Emblem 1 (First time being offiically translated and released in the west), Collection of Saga: Final Fantasy Legend, plus numerous third party releases.
I get that not every game is for everyone - hell half the games I listed (and plenty more I didn't) don't particularly interest me - but claiming that all we got were remasters and low budget rubbish for a year is absolute malarkey and blatantly disingenuous.
Yea, like I said I get some of the criticisms and I feel they are absolutely warranted. The ones I don't get are the things like the above quotes. People acting like they didn't get anything since the last direct (despite numerous smaller, mini directs with high profile announcements) and numerous high quality, first, second, and third party releases over the course of the last year.
Even if they don't particularly interest me, I can still say that Microsoft has released a number of high quality releases over the past year so it would be heavily cuntish of me to go into a thread and claim they didn't. Same thing here, just change Microsoft to Nintendo.

As for Ace Attorney, I agree that it is disappointing - but I think there are some rumblings that we may finally get some ports of the Great Ace Detective games which never released outside of Japan.

We had a new trailer for SMTV and the devs behind Etrian Odyssey stated a number of times they are making a new game for Switch.
Rumors have existed for a Switch Pro literally the day after the Switch released.
