So they must address this on a State of play or similar wide audience announcement.

For the exact same reasons, I think they don't want to highlight it in a state of play cause it would raise awkward questions, I also don't know if the prices are going to be what people are expecting.

No idea what they will show. However, I think it would make perfect sense to tease something that everything goes a little crazy about so that all those people that have not been able to get their hands on a PS5 feels it is ok to continue to wait and not go for another option (easier/cheaper at least where I am to get a XSX than a PS5).

I don't think the awkwardness matters, it's an issue of utmost important for gamers and them they'll have to address that on a keynote. Cause nobody in the world up until now knows what ssd is compatible with ps5 not even developers I'll bet on that.

Sony really needs to bring the hype today. I am seeing more Xbox units hitting stores shelves. The Bethesda deal closes next month. Halo is coming at the end of the year with a good chance that Starfield coming this year as well. Sony needs to keep their momentum going.
