I remember when Evo said they could get around 45 or so FPS but couldn't quite reach 60 with their fidelity. So even with a slight PS4 Pro patch, we'd have had a 1080p/60 game.
But no, Sony is fuckin wack and destroys the best arcade game on their platform along with the developer. Now the former members are making trash like Project Cars 3 and Dirt 5.

There is a better chance that microsoft might 4k 60 project gotham racing 3 than driveclub getting any patch.
The massacre of driveclub is one of the reason I hate sony , they didn't even optimised it for ps4 pro so chances of getting a ps5 patch are 0.

Bro, they even left the greatest modern arcade racing series in the dust without even a chance at an HD remaster. Motorstorm.
Imagine playing Pacific Rift or Apocalypse in 4k, even 1080p with 60fps.
My only hope for that is that RPCS3 is able to pull it off in the next few years. Huge improvements have been made but nothing is stable.

Well, to be fair DriveClub was Evo's third underperforming title in a row, plus it was a PR nightmare at launch with all the server issues, the PS Plus version and people in the UK asking for refunds - all of that for what was planned to be Sony's flagship title for the 2014 holiday season.

Also one of the rare season passes i ever bought.
The amount of content that was added later on was staggering!
Engine sounds where in a league of its own.
It just doesn't look good on PS5 with a 4K TV.
The worst thing about all of this was just the shut down of Evolution Studios.
Makes me really sad.

The only racing game I really enjoyed on ps4. Awesome visuals, nice tracks that take you all over the world instead of a monotonous open world, fun "not too arcade, not too sim" gameplay.
But there's a 0% chance this delisted Ps4 game from the studio that Sony shut down will get a next gen update.

It's the best, greatest, most atmospheric and relaxing, and technically impressive arcade racing game out there, it had a bad reputation due to its disastrous launch, but developers resurrected it as a masterpiece

Have you played Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 PS2 version? That's the best one in my opinion.

Maybe it was, it's even probable that he actually did it. He was president of Playstation Europe (SIEE) when they closed the studio (which was based in UK). He actually left SIEE (to boss of global sales at SIE) just one month after the studio was announced closed.

there's a good team behind it, and there's probably a good game in there somewhere when the handling modelling is tweaked to the user's specifics...but I just can't use the dualshock for long with a racing game without my hand clawing up

If it wasn't for the mainstream media and random xbox fans talking down to the game vs. Forza (it is one of my most beloved franchises) make shit up to stir the pot. Evolution would still be around... DC till this day to me still hasn't been dethroned. Yes resolution and FPS isn't as good, but if it would be upgraded it would fuck with everything on the market even now.

I got lost in the multiplayer for probably a year straight it was the only game I ever played. It was intense. Sense of speed was incredible and you really felt it.
Did all this at 30fps, almost the cardinal sin of racers. It was a very smooth 30. I was angry about Evo being shut down. Two of the best racing games I ever played came from them in DC and Motorstorm.

Yes and I loved it, as well as Burnout titles for example ( a little Lower on the liking scale, but still)
But Driveclub has some secret spice in it

Why the f*** did Sony shut this studio down the game was a masterpiece for visuals and gameplay, people will argue about the gameplay but I play a lot of racing games but I can tell you that it's right up there with the best arcade racers. After the weather update the game became the best looking racing game hands down and to this day is probably still the best looking. And now they give us the trash that is Destruction Allstars are they for real, instead of sacking people at the studio heads should roll at the top brass for that decision.

I loved the challenge of gittin gud for the event stars and platinum trophy. Probably the best racing fun I’ve had all generation. Then when you finished, the bikes expansion was a new experience that had you learning the same courses in a whole new way.
It’s a shame, as Forza Horizon is the genre standard and looks amazing, but is way too easy. Codemasters isn’t that great either and will probably do nothing special under EA.

Couldn't agree more still can't understand it because the game did sell okay and I'm sur the 2nd would have gotten a bigger audience.

A 60fps patch would be awesome plus faster loading so I can jump into a quick game.
I really enjoyed it.
Shame about Sony getting rid of them...
Also another reason I want Quick resume. So I can leave certain games in the background and jump in for a quick race/match/play and not have to load it up etc. The PS cards are ok but Xbox’s Quick resume is better
