Persona 5 strikers? I didn't know there was hype about this? I saw it was released, even got a coupon for it but I wasn't going to play it now. I love Persona so that's good it's selling well!

Dollar sales compression is a bit weird because Switch is way more expensive even in cost.
Same for PS5 best-selling in dollar sales means it is below PS4 in units due the higher price/cost.

PS5 being the fastest selling hardware in US history is very impressive considering it stays sold out. Just imagine the numbers it would be doing if the had the stock to meet demand. Miles Morales also been top 4 every month since launch.

It took Dark Souls 3 over 4 years to sell 10 million copies across three well established platforms. That's an average of 833,000 copies per platform per year. The two consoles it released on have a combined install base of well over 150 million plus PC. Demon's Souls is selling on one platform no one can get their hands on in a series not known for setting sales records. The only reason Miles Morales is on that list is because it has a PS4 version.

No, even back in the Wii/DS days, Nintendo “evergreen” games like Mario Kart and Pokémon consistently charted high in these lists for years after their initial release.

Ther are 18mil Gamepass subs, not 80mil, and that include Gamepass PC too.
There is just no stopping the Nintendo train. Switch would probably of sold more than combined XB1 and PS4 sales by now if it had launched the same year.
It's been brought up with data a few times in NPD/Uk sales threads
the ps5 has shipped the same number of consoles as the ps4 but in more markets, so fewer units to go around, hence behind the ps4 in units in individual regions but the same overall number of units shipped worldwide. They might ship more than ps4 (saying they can produce enough) but individual countries could still be behind the ps4 in sales because there aren't enough units.

Probably because P5 did so well all around. P5S is just something for people to gnaw at until the next Persona comes.
In unit sales they're actually pretty much tied in the US.
The estimated gap was 100k units or less as of January and in February it's likely that PS5 sold more than what PS4 did in Feb 2014 but we need to wait for more leaks to confirm that.
Also at this point in time in 2014 PS4 shortages were heading towards the end while this end is nowhere in sight for PS5 even with higher than PS4 ww production being targeted for the fiscal year ending this March. So basically demand for PS5 is higher than PS4 demand at the same point with the main SKU costing 100$ more.

PS5 sold 4.5 with 6 months production ramp.
Nothing so far indicates the PS5 production is above PS4 on a monthly basis at this point

I wish we got platform split for multiplatform titles, really tricky to see how well games like Little Nightmares 2 did on Switch when the charts are like this. The game did wayyyyyyy better than I thought it would so congrats to the team!
My personal theory is that it had a big jump in January due to New Year's Resolutions. Not sure how accurate that is!

We don't have access to the raw numbers here.so the NPD meaningless. Sony could have shipped 2 million retail PS5 consoles( sold out. Microsoft 1.5 million and sold out. By just having a greater distribution , Playstation would easily come in second and first. There no evidence MS outpacing Sony production of consoles.

PS5 is still supply constrained worldwide and new units get sold out in minutes when available, but shops get new units from time to time.
For the first quarter PS5 sales were above PS4 worldwide and USA.
Now we know that at least in USA (biggest console sales country of) until the end of February PS5 sales were above PS4.
Sony expects PS5 to outsell PS4 at the end of March worldwide.
PS5 isn't behind PS4 in USA, and very likely isn't behind PS4 worldwide.
Ignoring the comparision with Xbox, even if supply constrained PS5 is breaking gaming history records, as PS4 did back when released. This isn't meaningless.
