Biomutant will be 4k/60 on XSX, 1440/30 on XSS, 1080/60 on PS5 (technical issues, patch to follow). Current gen info to follow

I couldn't care less. This thread is about Biomutant, which runs at 4k60 on the XSX and 1080p60 on the PS5 - for now. Apparantly you can't handle that, since you try to move the discussion somewhere else.
Please can people stop saying ps5 and 1080p60 in the same sentence.

So in order for PS5 to match the Xbox, you're saying they have to bring a Current Gen patch? Or is this something that is most likely not going to be resolved?
Probably something similar to the next gen versions of games that came out last year. Same game just higher fps/resolution. My guess is it will be a native ps5 game by then but only in the sense that they had to do that to change resolution.

Exactly what he's saying

Due to the way BC was programmed for both machines means MS will take every single BC victory

The XseX can use all the GPU and tools to take advantage of the extra HP of the system...a patch is just that a patch

The V on the other hand runs default in Pro mode for BC, it DOESN’T take advantage of the SSD, the GPU or CPU, the only games that show genuine improvement have an uncapped framerate.

Otherwise the V requires a "native V release" for a patch. Meaning a re-release of sorts

Thats why the TLOU2 patch is framerate related, they likely just uncapped the framerate

What system should I get this for. I only have a 1440p monitor but based on the recommended system requirements, I'll be able to play this at 144 fps I'm pretty sure on my PC.

Or I can go with the XSX, 4k 60. Damn decisions.

I wonder if the next gen versions will get a free upgrade to the x and ps5 ones? I'd like to grab it but don't want to pay 2x

I wonder what the technical issues are on PS5? Based on many developer comments and the fans here it was always the easiest console to develop native games on. I'd figure the Xbox would have issues before PS5.
Well that is true along with Xbox tools being way behind in comparison to PS5. This is more than likely only a current issue or bug that will be fixed.

There's no issue with the proposition that MS has better BC, and I expect it will always be the case.

But seriously, am I the only person who thinks a well made game, that releases in May 2021 forward, would have addressed the different challenges before the game actually launched in a better fashion than this?

Honestly what surprises me the most is the 30 frames per 2nd on the S, I would think it had more power than that...

Then again as previously mentioned this is a BC title so I wouldn't lose your head over lol

No, I'm pretty sure you're trying to derail this into a BC flex thread or something

1080p/30 on PS4
1080p/60 on the Pro
Yeah man a BC flex thread got it. Or maybe you are overly sensitive. Regardless thanks for your helpful info.

For whatever reason devs tend to push for 1440p on the XSS over just keeping it at 1080p and running it at 60 fps. Maybe they are trying to differentiate it from the last gen versions.

I'd think twice about developer bashing, the banhammer has been falling often around here lately.

I’m honestly not trying to bash the developer here, but it’s simply not good enough and I’m sure most would agree.
They straight up want £55 for this. Yes they will fix it, but how long do we need to wait?
Simply hold back the game until the technical issues are resolved, if they don’t, they can’t expect people to part with their money.

It's still BC on Xbox and changing resolution or framerate for series seems to be much easier than it is on PlayStation. It's BC on all next gen consoles in pretty sure.

Looks great, but no.
I see. I thought there would native ports for launch. Solidifies this as a PC purchase even more. No true next gen SKU's is bad.

Dynamic Native 4K/60FPS on Series X with what appears to be higher foliage density seen in the PC version. Very happy about this as I already have this pre-ordered and paid off at GameStop. Expecting high 70's/low 80's come Monday when the review embargo lifts for BioMutant. I already know of one review that is said to have rated it 88 but haven't been able to confirm it. Hoping it's true because I really want this game to do good.

Sony took 6 months for a tlou2 fps patch. This shit just might take a fair amount of effort. Small team and only BC mode means next gen gonna have to wait.

Smaller team making this game for quite a few years. There is a lot more Xbox one and PS4 gamers then next gen ones. Hopefully they old versions run great and it sells well so they put the effort into new gen versions.

Hey man, i'm not the one who decided to whine about people downplaying Xbox BC out of nowhere. Now that's what I call being overly sensitive
I don't remember bringing up BC in the first place. The post from the dev said technical issues not BC issues. Once people started saying it was 'only a BC game' I started wondering how a dismissed feature could affect technical issues with this game. It doesn't seem like a technical issue if the game is running the way it was intended when on PS5. If it performed worse I could see there being a problem. Oh well I'd hate to upset you further so perhaps the devs will chime in sooner or later with what is going on.

Nothing unexpected. Xbox has the ease of config with their SDK, so it's easier to change things around and release them quicker. Congrats on getting your little stumpys hard on a back compat "win". Now let's wait for the next gen versions to be released before flooding the thread with memes.

I thought you were a bit smarter than this, not going to lie

You thought it was a native game. I corrected you. It's known bc can cause tech issues.

Then you decided to bring up some unrelated console warring. So yeah, you're a wee bit senstivie in bc matters it seems

Look—at the end of the day, it’s a brand new, promising title in what has been somewhat of a COVID-made AAA release drought lately.

Yes, it delivers a vastly superior experience on the Xbox Series X, but I’m sure the devs will come through and get it working above the functional PS5 resolution of 1080p/60FPS in due time.

This right here makes sense. I apologise for not thinking about the bigger picture. It’s quite frankly amazing that any developer has managed to release games in recent times.
