I don't have problem with changes if those changes are for better. Problem is if those changes are shit. I don't know why, but suddenly Dead Space 3 come to my mind. Yes, it changed, and killed a good franchise for me. There are a ton of examples of changes that made a worst product. Don't accept all changes as good, that would be too naive.

Yeah these changes are for the worse. Microtransactions seem like a small problem in comparison to snow flake political correctness game development.
You cannot possibly make a game and not offend someone nowadays... And publishers want everyone to buy their game but for some reason they think people only buy games which are representing their own culture, race or environment.
So even game like gears of war 1 could not be made today because big muscular dudes are offensive to other people out summer shit. Look at least gears. It's terrible. New characters are annoying, whiny and forced.

I find it odd as well, and pretty much a non argument. There is so much to choose from today compared to “The good old times”. With a little bit of research you can find games you like that are just as good, if not better, than the games you grew up with.

Not only that, it’s easier than ever to play games from the past if that’s what you like.

when I grew up, it was harder to find games you would like, and you were always taking a chance. The investment to risk ratio is almost non existent now with how accessible games are, and how easy it is to find information on them.

Ive seen some of my favorite developers either got in a direction I don’t care for (Squarsoft/Square Enix), or just slowly devolve into mediocrity (BioWare, Blizzard). But that’s just evolution, and other developers are picking up where they left off and making great games.

So yeah, I don’t really get it. We’re lucky to have so many options in my opinion. If a franchise goes in a direction you don’t like, or if “Triple A” development is something you don’t like, there’s plenty of other options.

I didn't say the game lacked fans, I just said I was surprised to learn people were that passionate about it. Its one thing to like the game(Hell I bought the first 3 of them), but some of these reactions were a little crazy.

I mean not even half the people who were so bothered by the new reveal took the time to comment on other Saints Row threads that were made this year, hell this thread were in right now has more posts in it than most of the Saints Row Threads made in the past year(and a good bit of the comments in the other threads are people talking about how they dislike the game!)

Oh it's an estimate site, those aren't concrete numbers and when searching almost everything I've found point towards the 2.5-3 million range.

Heck this Forbes article from 2015 puts the entire series at roughly 15 million games shipped.
