Love that the amazing N64 controller is back, love you King.
I refuse to play any version of OOT that doesn't have the proper, original version of the Fire Temple.
RESTORE THIS NINTENDO, DO THE RIGHT THING!!!!
gold cart master race over here!
Same not interested. I don't use Nintendo Online Service at all
I like they are adding N64 games but I don't like them being attached to a new tier of subscription.
Hate all you want, 64 is GOAT.
Even gold carts can be edited apparently. You just have to have 1.0 or 1.1 I believe.gold cart master race over here!

Nah, NES was. Atari 800 technically, but that was my dad's.It must have been your first console.

64 was huge though. To this day that is the separator for me between retro and modern games.
Wow. I love the 64 controller. My only gripe with it is I wish the handles were angled outward a little bit more. Rare was awesome...Damn. A little shocked. The N64 controller was a travesty. If it weren't for the Intellivision it would be my least favorite controller of all time. I also think Rare mostly sucks.

Sega Genesis '94It must have been your first console.
Sega Genesis '94
Sony Playstation '95
Nintendo 64 '99
Those were the years I got my first gaming consoles in that order. I agree with Dream-Knife too, N64 is the GOAT
Honestly I can't even describe it. Playing games in the 90s starting early at like age three or four was an unreal experience. Before I knew how to read or write or even speak well I was playing Sega Genesis and Playstation and practically being fully immersed into these amazing games. Well, the Sega Genesis games were just very fun. But a year later with the Playstation? Can't even describe those days, the games mixed with the memories are sublime

Playing Gex, going to the beach and pier all day then coming home to play more Gex or maybe some Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back in an air conditioned house on a hot summer day. That was probably the most vivid memory and best day I can fully recall. But there were so many good times with that Playstation. And then the N64 came and pretty much changed my life
Yep I have 1.0 gold cart. IIRC more gold carts are 1.0Hate all you want, 64 is GOAT.

Dude I can't fucking wait for that game to come out! But you facing me in Mario Party, that's like a baby dove with one wing entering the domain of the Calamity GanonIt's official, I'm going to have to pony whip both you you N64 chads when Mario Party Superstar comes out.

You still haven't played Super Mario Party yet? probably not a bad thing tbh. We call that shit Super Connection Error Party these days. I swear, like 65-75% of the games you play? They're going to end up with a communication error and the game blanks outYou'll pop my Mario Party cherry and I'll take your crown.

You’d think an opinion like this would be the norm.I'm surprised at the general negativity on an enthusiast forum like neogaf, I think 20$ a year was not very expensive to begin with.
You’d think an opinion like this would be the norm.
But the truth is, what most “enthusiasts” really want is Nintendo hardware to be priced $149 tops at launch, their games to drop to bargain bin price a week and a half after release, their first party to be console exclusive for no longer than six weeks, and their online to be free forever just because.
And even then they’d be bitching that Nintendo is asking too much and should go third party, and half of them wouldn’t touch Nintendo hardware if they could get it for free and with an extra threesome with their two favorite pornstars thrown in for good measure.
Meanwhile, people are happy for Castlevania ROM collections that cost as much as a yearly NSO subscription and include four games that can be perfectly emulated since the dawn of time.

N64 games you’ll need the expanded sub. But most of those MD games are already on the eShop in various collections.I never play on my son's switch, but can somebody clarify this for me.
Does this mean you can only play N64 and MD games with a expanded sub, or will you have the option to buy the games you want individually?
OK, but that’s too many “if”s and “I want thing”s.I wouldn't mind Nintendo hardware that costs as much as nextgen, games costing $70-80 again like the SNES days, and paying even higher online service fees if:
-The hardware was good
-The games were of more consistent, 90's quality
-The online didn't suck
It's not about being cheap, it's about them being too stingy while treating us like cucks and delivering shit. I bought Castlevania Advance Collection as soon as the product page loaded because I simply want to have it there when I want it. Paying a fee to play old games I already have for a limited time isn't what I want. Switch consolidates pretty much every old game ever in one place except for Nintendo games and it feels shitty to reward their behavior.
The thing is it doesn't even really solve the problem of playing N64 games. You will still need a real N64, an emulation setup or whatever, if you want to play not-insignificant games like Goldeneye. A new pricing tier to play a drip feed of N64 and Genesis games, to me, is a slap in the face and a joke. Maybe if it started with over 40 games, the online was reliable and the pricing was on point.
Separate tier, pricing to be revealed soon. This is some bull shit, this should definitely be included in the standard plan.
Unfortunately, i live in Europe so Nintendo decided i deserve their un-optimised PAL trash.
you know what I find even more annoying, sega once again giving the genesis 6 button in Japan and the 3 button everywhere else, like I'd love to have a pair of 6 buttons genesis pads for fighters/neo geo/arcade classics on the switch, but don't want to pay like 80 dollars a controller it will be after imports and everything.Charging extra for this is shitty...
but I do give credit for including Sin and Punishment in the launch lineup. The N64's best game.
I was wondering about that 6 button Genesis controller - the pic is in the op of this very thread. Sucks the US is just getting the old 3 button.you know what I find even more annoying, sega once again giving the genesis 6 button in Japan and the 3 button everywhere else, like I'd love to have a pair of 6 buttons genesis pads for fighters/neo geo/arcade classics on the switch, but don't want to pay like 80 dollars a controller it will be after imports and everything.
.
I've got a fighter command by hori, which is a good controller but wired, would have been nice to have a genesis 6 button layout and pad wirelessly,I was wondering about that 6 button Genesis controller - the pic is in the op of this very thread. Sucks the US is just getting the old 3 button.
You might want to research for something like an 8bitdo M30 controller or something - the switch has tons of compatible controllers.

The "best" part? People on twitter (including the so called influencers) are celebrating the announcement of these shitty controllers.
50hz for Europe?
