I'm absolutely impressed by the graphics on the Series S.

Can anybody help me out? Chose a male avatar and the second voice. Now i got a male with a female voice. Where can i change this? Didn't finf anything in the settings.

If you go to one of your houses, you can change your character there, just hit LB and you'll go back to the choices like hair, prosthetics, voice, pronoun etc.

Impressive game on max settings on pc, running on 10700k+3080. BUT there's still some jagged edges which cause some annoying flickering, ruining an otherwise very good image stability. any solution? Msaa 4x+fxaa are not enough apparently at 4k as well as 1440p.

For anyone that was looking to pick up the physical from Walmart today, is it available in your area?

Currently not in my area and for some reason(unless it's a new policy), my local Best Buy won't price match if it's not available in local stores.

I'm relieved the performance mode looks good even on S, i'm fairly certain its less aliased than it was on FH4. Plays like a dream. Its hard to go back to quality after you tried it.

Looks awesome graphically but is nobody burnt out on this open world formula yet? I loved FH3, which was the first FH I played. FH4 was great too but not quite as good as FH3 imo. Since then we've had Crew 2, NFS Heat, and maybe even others that have tried to copy the formula. Just seems kind of boring? There is basically 0 progression as cars are thrown at you left and right which is par for the course for FH, still the same activities to do as FH3, I dunno. Definitely the best Forza Horizon, but it feels kind of redundant at this point if you've played others in the series as much as me. And if you haven't, then I guess your mind is absolutely blown.

Nah, because there is nothing quite like this game. So it's hard to get OD on this type of racer.

Im playing on a 3080 with 16gb ram and a 5600x and almost every time i hit a cutscene it crashes. Haven't even made it to character creation yet. Tried lowering graphics options and even playing at 1080p nothing works. Going to try re-installing. pray 4 me
Try starting the game as admin. I also had crashes. On loading in, cutscene's, character creation. But as soon as I launched as admin everything went fine.

If you religiously played FH4 up until the release of this game then I can see that because it really is just more of the same in a new setting. Personally I've not played FH4 in well over a year so I've been cleansed of the formula so to speak.

Having a blast with this at the moment. My only annoyances being that wheels are not working at the moment (there's a bug with the FFB), there's a memory leak on PC which causes the framerate to tank after a couple of hours in extended play sessions, and that the Dolby Atmos mix is off during races which means you can barely hear your own car over the others.

Played for 20 minutes last night before bed, long day. Overall a fun few minutes, ready for more after work.

I started playing this last night. I am not a fan of driving games, but this is really good. I was planning on putting this on the back burner and playing GTA San Andreas remastered until halo drops, then playing this in between. Now I don’t know if I will even bother with GTA.

You've tried to do Ben Shapiro?

Go to your home and you can change it there.

I am gonna have to look up reviews on this because Id like to know just what changed here aside from the setting. It feels very similar to both FH4 and FH3. I was never a big fan of the franchise, or open world racers like Crew in general. I have always struggled to find the fun in these games. Maybe its the progression or just the core driving around a massive map instead of intricately designed tracks you can aim to try and master, but this series just hasnt clicked for me, and so far it feels pretty much identical to the previous games in the franchise. Im still 2 races in so hopefully things will open up soon and I will get to see the new additions to the series.

Anyone playing this on PC? How do i turn on HDR?

I have it enabled in the windows setting but the ingame setting says my display does not support HDR.

Finally reached the hall of fame, I can take a break now for a few days.

Final thoughts:
+ Map is really good, either best or second best after FH3. I really don't miss the UK although snow was nice, hope they make a snow extension in the future;
+ Game looked beautiful from start to finish, tons of subtle improvements from previous games especially in the lighting and geometry details, plus impressive faked reflection effects;
+ Progression is much better than FH4 with the accolade system, giving you reasons to actually win races, collect cars, etc;
+ Driving model is way better than FH4 especially with heavy vehicles, not something you'd notice if you're new but coming from hundreds of hours it's obvious;

- Set pieces are really done at this point and I would remove them. In FH5 they were really bad and kind of glitchy. The monster truck was the worst with those assholes ramming you off the road, and they never really feel like races anyway;
- Main character talking wasn't really on my wish list, it sucked but at the same time there was less story than in FH4;
- Night driving hasn't been improved and the game looks a lot worse during nights, I guess RT will be needed for that.
- Playlist so far feels worse than 3 and 4, a few good tracks but that's it.

Overall a solid 9/10 and this is before the expansions and extra content.

Just tried this on Xbox Series X. I felt that I was watching the car more than driving it. Space physics, being dropped from a plane, jumping hundreds of meters etc. Does this improve or should I just stick with Rally? I have only tried the start, but got fed up instantly. :)

I think you just don't like games tbh based on your previous posts:

I was very impressed with the shininess of the RDR2 world, however the gameplay bored me to death. I can see why people like it, but it was not for me.

I find myself thinking about trying this on Series X, however I know I just cannot stand the combat. Would almost prefer the fame without it, as I just can’t get myself to play it.

Ooh, this actually made it a no buy for me.

Siege is just gimmicky crap. I am sure it earns them shitloads of money, but to me the series is dead.

Where are those trolls that said this was gonna play differently because of aquaplaning?

The game is great, breathtaking presentation, stunning to just drive around and look, but this is a re-skin of Horizon 3 and 4, it's a pretty re-skin, but a re-skin non-the-less. You start with racing the plane, doing a few tutorial missions, meeting someone at the festival, choosing a car, the game opens up and you do the same races you always do. It's virtually identical. Now that I played a decent amount, I expected a lot more originality rather than the same old ways to progress through the map as always and the same old "story" missions with some of the worst writing in games today.

That said. Since there really aren't any other car games competing with this, and since it's so stunning, it doesn't feel too old, it still works well. But if you played a lot of Horizon in the past, this does feel like a used glove to some extent.

Gonna give this a full go tonight. I played for a bit this morning before work. My feelings of it so far is that it's just a racing game with great eye candy. I want to feel some kind of immersion here. Hopefully it's there.

We cant skip cutscenes?

I couldn't skip in the beginning, but maybe that's intentional. How far in are you?

I don't think Forza Horizon is for you :)
