Why should Rockstar put effort on this port, why should they reward the fanbase they are only making millions on GTAV and those ports for GTAV are difficult to make, they deserve billions.of.profit not millions. Also Rockstar are getting flack for bad working conditions they don't deserve the hate give it a rest.

Such a missed opportunity. There's a moment where the frame rate is hitting its target and you kind of appreciate some of the upgrades to the game world but turn around and the frame rate inexplicably starts chugging and the Fortnite characters want to say hello.

With regard to San Andreas, the atmosphere of the original vision is completely obliterated, even more than the mobile ports some years back. We no longer have the oppressive orange haze and the draw distance is basically unlimited. Didn't this city used to have smog in it?

There has never been a "definitive" version and there still isn't. There were always pros and cons to each version. I think the best way to play unmodded is still on the original PS2.

I will say this. The old school save system is burdensome in 2021, so I do appreciate the checkpoints and not having to run back to a crib all the time because I'm so paranoid about saving.

Vicarious Visions, BluePoint etc. They could have hired studios who know how to remaster/remake and spend more money on a DEFINITIVE edition, instead they hire subpar developers and shit out a game where most of the shit has been ai uspcaled with mistakes everywhere and the games don't even run smoothly enough in performance mode, an option that shouldn't even be in the game, cause this shit should run with 60 fps on highest settings on new consoles.

Hmm, so...I see and agree with the issues people are pointing out with these releases, but I can't help but wonder if the engines just aren't capable of performing at the level we expect at this point. I know part of the reason RDR never got a PC release is that the engine itself was a complete mess that took a miracle to work in the first place, so it's entirely possible that these face the same problems. That's not an excuse of course, because if they can't perform they shouldn't be fucking released without caveats being known.

I will say, though, that I couldn't keep a goofy ass grin off my face while I was playing Vice City last night, warts and all. Great memories there, but I just don't think these can be brought forward to today's standards without a complete remake from the ground up.
This runs on a new engine. Its possible that the old assets they ported cause problems. People say that this has many old glitches too.

Edit: Its Unreal Engine.

Yeah I played mission one of SA last night and it felt sooooo outdated that I’m not sure I can stomach a play through.
Why i just played it and gta 3 and vice city first few missions. They are fine. Shit I still play games from the 80s nes games, crpgs from dos and ps1 games. These are easy to control and look good.
Don't see how anyone could get that they feel outdated, especially if you already bought the games.

Sucks to hear this isn't very good. Was hoping it would be worth trying after the disaster that was the Steam releases.

Not all that surprising considering how fast it was announced and then released. And the fact that they didn't show any footage in the trailer. Lmao. That gut feeling is usually right.
Whats wrong with the old steam releases? I got these games years ago on steam (like over a decade ago) and they all play fine.

I'm sorry but this is such a low-effort remaster lmao.

How did R* think this was an adequate job for some of their most celebrated titles of all time?
Why would they outsource this to a developer that's worked on mostly mobile games?
Why would did they still launch it upon seeing how botched it looks with the bugs?

To add insult to injury, they went out of their way to remove the option to purchase the original versions from online storefronts, almost as if they knew the backlash was inevitable.
These are ultimately still fun games to play, but this remaster trilogy feels like a half-baked, shameless cash grab.
These classic titles deserve better love and care than this. Why not reach out and recruit some of the modders that did considerably better work on PC?

The strange thing is: I've been playing GTA San Andreas since yesterday and couldn't find a single glitch like the ones that have been posted here. Playing on Series X.

San Andreas is still a great game. Even thought I finished this game in the past, I'm having lots of fun doing all the stuff again now in 2021.
Same deal here. Yet to see any huge glitches or serious bugs. Having a lot of fun with it.

The only glitch I've noticed in my own playthroughs is some of the NPC's sink in to the road on GTA 3, I noticed that yesterday when stealing a car.

I understand the criticisms, and the remasters are far from perfect but it comes down to personal enjoyment and I'm having a blast with these games.

New drive-by shooting implemented by GSG that you can toggle off/on in menu (Wył. - off, Wł. - on)
Outstanding job.

Played a bit of all three games. I really like it.

They are not perfect by any stretch, but for old school fans like me? Yeah, it feels like an absolute treat.

The environments are stunning, especially San Andreas' graphics. Los Santos looks amazing. I also love how many neon lights Vice City has now at night and how much it pops. Hopefully they can patch some bugs out and fix the character models a tad, those are my only gripes.

Also really happy with the mission restart system. Having to drive to the mission every single time you failed made these games tedious as much as I love them.
My experience and thouhts as well. Always wanted main 3 games on portables , psp/vita and had the cut down stories games but there was no san andreas. Now have them on switch!

these games are too outdated to play now. they were never great gamplay wise even at release. compare it to something like MGS2, which is still great to play even today.

also, rockstar should have properly remade each one like capcom did with resi 1,2 and 3.
did u just exclaim that a game where u have to hold down the Square button to ADS still plays great and isn't outdated

Glad you're having fun with it buddy. :messenger_smiling_with_eyes:

I used to love playing the Stories games on my PSP, wish I still owned one as I used to have all the Rockstar titles. Warriors was awesome as well.

GTFO of here with your straw man arguments. Seriously, that's not what anybody is saying and you know it.

People expect it to be 60fps locked, as the game is in no way, shape, or form a looker. Nor does it have any features that prevent it from running at 60fps. People want 60fps, as it's smoooooth, and this is definitely the type of game that would benefit from it. Who GAF if the original wasn't 60fps.
gtfo yourself... never needed any game have 60 fps. but maybe this one has some problems ok that may be. but then whining kids about its not perfect or its not what they thought it will be.. well i saw what they where aiming for, and this is what they aiming for. ... noone will care for those crybabies here rly ...hope devs wont ...

Just played a few hours of GTAIII on PS5 and I really enjoyed the simple charm of it. I was surprised to find fidelity mode was a little choppy, but performance mode is great and I haven’t noticed a drop in visual quality.
