Halo Infinite Multiplayer is out NOW

Is there some way of showing the different spawn points in a given map? I sort of feel a bit lost looking for the spawns during a match especially on larger maps.

Lots of games launch with slow ass progression and it usually gets fixed.
These things have been around for long enough throughout the entire industry now that this is hardly something that can be excused.

I know they said they might change it further down the line or evaluate their options, but this is pretty inexcusable when these have been done so much better for years now.

Seems like a choosing beggars situation man idk. I'm just happy they released it early and it's seemingly awesome!

The MP is awesome, the progression is not tho. He is sadly right on this one.
My biggest Issue with it is, it was criticized in the first flight, then again in the second flight and now it released like that nonetheless.
I really do hope they will fix it. I think they even already announced they will add a separate second progression system to the battlepass but those things take time and with SP releasing Dec. and their Holiday break, I don't see that happening before Season 2 launches.

Edit: I also hope they will reconsider or add more game modes. My hearth really is aching for SWAT to return to Social and Ranked Playlists.

I Tried it out. Game controls really well. I’ll probably need to check in on some tutorials or play the bot matches to get all that is going on with the equipment, weapons and game types. I have a definite preference for the quick play over BTB. Not sure if it has a FFA mode or PvE. Those would be great. I like halo’s longer time to kill. I may get my multiplayer fill from this especially if those modes are In or get released.

Just to give an opposing opinion, I don't like Halo Infinite MP, the slower pace just doesn't click with me tbh. Call of Duty is more to my liking and I'm loving Vanguard.

I feel like most people are shitting on Vanguard cause it's the trendy thing right now. I doubt they've actually played it cause, It's not a bad game at all, in fact, it's really fun, arcadey, and full of content. Only bad thing is the net code.

I'm finding myself in the same situation as you, however. The slower pace + high TTK gameplay just feels dated after playing so much Apex Legends, COD, etc. Gonna stick with it a lil longer tho. Maybe it'll grow on me.

No offense, but this looks like a college grads passion project compared to Vanguard. Progression, graphics, weapon handling, level design. They're not in the same league. Mind you, this is coming from someone who has adored the Halo franchise, but no amount of rose colored tinting can mask the fact that modern FPSs are 15 years ahead of this. That's not to say you wont have fun with it, but more as a nostalgia trip back to when you used to use tunneling software to play bootleg LAN games with your mates on Halo 1.

A little too harsh on Halo Infinite, but ultimately I agree with this.

I think PC optimization is pretty bad. The game is melting my CPU even at 30 FPS in a small map. How the heck does this run on a base Xbox one? Game looks good/decent even at low settings though.

Turning off reflections gave me a huge FPS boost on PC. Try it out.

Shit... everyone is playing and my PC can't even open the game, it's not even my specs because I have a friend with less powerful PC than mine running it all day :(

Fun game.

Only big gripe is progression. Like I get it FTP byt damn they are stingy with cosmetics. You don't get shit on the free tier.

Need to add a little bit of xp per match. Only getting xo from challenges is dumb.

After playing a few matches. Game feels great and matches can be very competitive when you have 2 good teams. Had an insane back and forth Stronghold match where I ended up with 24 captures.

Cod, Battlefield, and this all offer completely different fps experiences. They can easily all coexist.

On another note..... yea the progression fucking sucks lol

So is the only way you can complete all the weekly challenges is by buying the battle pass or the Premium Battle Pass just unlocks a extra slot?

If I remember correctly, premium pass gives you 20 levels with the pass. Not sure about the other question.

The arena matches are fun, but not gonna hold my interest for long, but the large matches are super fun. I'm very glad too because I wanted something to take BF2042's place and I think this will.

Premium Battle Pass is just the normal battle pass for $10. The Premium Battle Pass Bundle unlocks like 20 levels but is $30.

Thats what I meant lol my bad. I just got it and jumped into matchmaking without doing anything else. Only finally customized my stuff right before I got off.

im really enjoying this. The new maps are great so far. BTB is just perfect. The right amount of chaos.

I was a defender of the challenge system for progression thinking it's basically the same thing just reskinned, but... nah it's pretty bad. Some challenges aren't great and don't keep it generic ("Score 10 flags as a team" >>> "Score 10 flags yourself") and it's SLOOOOW.

I've played like 22 games today and I'm still level 2 lol. Almost level 3... There's 100 levels...
Buying a BP will provide for a fourth xp slot and xp boosts and shit sure, but that's no real excuse. It's just too grindy. I'd rather the later levels be grindy than feel like I'm getting nowhere early on tbh.

Hope they bring out the new maps and open up the game modes some more soon enough. Custom game browser would be cool too.

Playing on an LG C1 and Series X, the black levels or gamma are completely off. Looks very washed out from the Xbox studios logo / 343 logo all the way to the menus then finally displays fine in the match. They gotta fix that.

On the weekly challenges screen, there's 4 slots available, but one is locked only to those with a Premium Battle pass. Trying to knock out the weekly challenges for the achievement...just want to know if that would hinder me.

I was wondering something similar, but in regards to how many weekly challenges there actually are. It'd be nice if there was a counter to show how many you had remaining.

Damn, my best friend roped me into buying BF2042 Gold for early access (it's actually quite good, just buggy). Now this. Well, looks like it's gonna be a fun week :D

I am greatly disappointed with this. The shooting feels *so* damn good, and the map design seems good for what it is so far.

However, the predatory MTX and fucking god awful progression is ruining my enjoyment. With the way progression works now, it would take you 22 weeks to finish the first Battle Pass. *That is fucking retarded*. You don’t earn XP after the end of matches. The most you can do is do the daily challenge which slowly increases causing you to play *more* games to earn that paltry amount.

I can’t say that this is because the game went F2P and 343i/Microsoft decided to go full greedy cuntwaffle, or this was the design all along - but It’s fucking stupid.

Even with Halo 3 and Reach, I felt like I was earning things from both skill and simple enjoyment of playing the game. Halo 4/5 and now Infinite? I feel like I am earning nothing. Thankfully it seems I am not alone as a lot of folks across various social media, fan sites, and more are calling 343i out on this. Hopefully things change As this could easily be the best Halo MP game since the Bungie Era.

Did they say you could buy older battlepasses that had expired ?
yes. Battlepasses never expire and once you buy one you can put your progress towards it at any time (one is "active" at any given time). If you join in years from now, you can go back and buy Season 1 and make that active.

Played like 5 hours, man am I addicted again. The game has never felt tighter and the sandbox as varied as it does right now.

The battle pass maybe seems a bit slow? But I really don't play Halo cuz of a few cosmetic add-ons so I'm not sure I care.

The battle passes never expire though, so you're not on a race to unlock everything like you are with games like PUBG/Fortnite.

Just play the game and you'll unlock everything eventually. Why do so many people need carrots dangled in front of their face to have fun?

My recollection of Halo 3 and Reach is a bit fuzzy...but neither of those games had progression....so, do you not enjoy Infinite's mechanics like those games? Why do you need to "earn" anything?

I know they never expire. This season is 6 months long but all others will be about 3 months. I would literally need to play something close to 660 games to finish the battle pass (free tier), which is kinda nuts. If I can't do that within the season and a new battle pass comes out then it could easily become a never ending cycle of not being able to finish something as new ones come out. I get that it's F2P and they wanna make their money, but it's a tad crazy. It just wouldn't feel as bad if my gameplay performance mattered, too. I had a game where I popped the fuck off in strongholds with like 4000 points and went 24/3, but my challenges were 1. Destroy a Chopper, 2. Kill an enemy with a shock rifle, 3. Chef's Kiss - get a perfect with a kinectic weapon (or whatever). That whole round I got nothing out of it (other than fun, of course). Just kinda sucks a bit

In regards to the Challenges & Progression, this is what they said a week ago:
We’re aware that there are some desired changes for a broader progression system outside of the Battle Pass. After last flight, we have adjusted our Daily Challenges to be more focused on a per match play model. The other big issue was making Double XP boosts more time-efficient in match on usage, this is something we agree with and are looking at a solution we can provide at a future date. While we explore those changes, which could be larger undertakings, we’re also looking into faster options such as ways to increase how frequently XP is given out via Challenges and potentially tying XP Boosts to matches played rather than time.

Beyond that, there’s been a large number of requests for an additional career progression system. We want this too and it’s our team’s top priority, but doing it right will take time and that may mean it won’t come as quickly as many of you would like. As we look at what our team needs to build, adding an entirely new progression system on top of everything else is a lot. Building a progression system with solid design, good implementation, top-tier UXUI presentation, thorough testing, and time for polish will take some time and we want to do it right.

While this is a ways away, please understand that outside of continuing to support the basic needs of each Season and finishing up existing work that’s already been started, building additional progression systems and improving the areas mentioned above are the Live Team’s top priorities.

Oh no, you might not finish all battle pass, however will you cope.

Why do you need to "get something out of it" in every round? Don't you get fun? Again, why do so many people seem to not actually like playing video games, they just like chasing carrots on sticks?

The gameplay is the best Halo has ever been. No other Halo game comes close to this in multiplayer gameplay. Violence, speed, momentum baby, it's all there.
