Even a simple horde mode like gears.

Wasnt Firefight and Warzone Firefight leaked in the datamine some time back.
Im sure those modes are making a return.

No req system currently but im sure they will use something similar to the FOBs from the campaign to have us order in variant weapons and vehicles.

I trie to do that yesterday but had the hardest time, I never even figured it out. I’ll give it a shot and report back… thanks for the help!

From the main menu click custom game, for server click local offline, then under game mode there is a section for bots and you can assign bots to a team. It says you can only have 8 bots max, so I just put 4 on the opposing team and 3 on my team.

After about six hours in quick play learning the maps I finally got around to doing my ten-match ranked placements. Still don't have a group so I did it solo, sadly.

I did pretty average - platinum II - but strangely those ten games really made me rethink my opinions on the progression system as I went 2 and 8 in the placement matches.

I still don't care about the battle pass at all. But obviously the large majority of players do to the point where even in ranked play I had players routinely ignoring objectives to focus on things like getting splatter kills. Hell, I had two games of Oddball where I was the only one on my team with any carry time with the ball. The only two games I won during placement were the two team slayer games I rolled.

A couple of these placement matches I absolutely lost legitimately, but that's kind of the issue - if you lose, all of your losses should be lost legitimately not some.

The progression system is obviously so incredibly important to so many players that they are willing to throw ranked matches in the name of unlocking a new visor shader. This directly and negatively impacts my enjoyment of the experience and for this reason I vehemently agree with the rabble on Reddit, Waypoint, here, etc. calling for fast and extensive changes to the way the battle pass and progression works down to the fundamental level.

They should be fine on the highest difficulty, not as good as a good player but they get the job done.

Had a quick blast after work. I’m always shit when playing with mates to the point that I’m getting a reputation. Then I queue solo and smashing the kills in Slayer.

Had a cracking game of Odball where I held the ball for a minute and bashed skulls in. Not high kill count but an excellent show of avoidance and skill bashing!

2 min carry.. good work

Ok finally had the time to play a couple of games during my lunch break.
Pretty fun so far but I need to get familiar with the maps, still it's nice to be back in Halo even though I'll have to get used to playing with M+K (I lowkey hope they offer some gamepad only mode).

Only 2 issues so far are the lack of a proper fullscreen mode, and the slow loading in between matches. Don't know if it's an issue with my PC but every time I look for a game it stays on the "loading map 35%" for like 30 seconds.

That Apex pass was pure dog shit and your only argument for it was that you could very slowly earn your money back (if you had 400 hours to spare). Kk.

I finished that battlepass with 2 weeks to spare and I played maybe 1 to 2 hours a day.

also you got a few good weapon skins and a handful of character skins.

also, yes, it really helps if you know that you basically will be able to just unlock every following battlepass by buying one of them.
doubly so because 2 Apex Seasons last about as long as this first Halo season... WHICH LASTS UNTIL MAY! that's 6 months... a season of apex lasts 3 months usually.
meaning in the same time you unlock all the stuff in this single Halo Infinite battlepass you get a 2nd one in Apex, at no additional cost if you buy the first one

Im gonna set up so many whacky custom games with bots. I haven’t check all the settings yet, but I’m really hoping I can emulate a zombies custom game ala halo 3 customs (just like sand trap !) back in the day.

I may not earn all the shiny cosmetics and badges but I will still be having a blast none the less!

i was sorta being facetious. But i do keep seeing ppl say the same thing as u, which i just dont really get. Because every Spartan could look exactly the same no color or armor differences and i would still play. But if there is a system in place that allows for customization....ofc ppl are super interested in it. U could say the same thing for any other Halo thing. Why read the books? Why watch Halo tv shows or movies? Is the game not enough for u?

But I'm literally "old man yells at cloud" with this kind of stuff so I'd rather they remove that along with all the cosmetic stuff entirely. Do you know how annoying it is playing ranked when your team blue and someone on team red is wearing that blue cosmetic crap? Kill it all with fire.

It might just be kind of buggy. I just tried it with 3 on team eagle, 4 on team cobra, but somehow I ended up with a 5v3 game.
Did another match immediately after with the exact same settings and it worked as 4v4 like it should.

Some thoughts from playing the game a bit.
I know this is a "beta" *eyeroll* but I will save whatever talking points on that but they do have a season pass and a store. Anyways, to treat it more like every other GaaS title before it.

Gameplay: Very solid. Everything feels great. This is the one thing that carries this game so far even above other recent titles.

Controls: I really need to change the inputs. I am getting killed and screwed up by some of the default mapping choices. Otherwise the aiming is crisp

Content: Severely lacking overall, that is with excuses aside. Especially considering that this was actually in serious consideration of being released a year ago. Also something odd with my matchmaking. I know there are like 3-4 maps for big team mode yet I only ever play on ONE map. Would be nice if there was a little more control over that if anything.

Graphics: Very solid. The most impressive thing to me is how good this game performs on older hardware while retaining the graphical fidelity. Played on a laptop 1070(1080p medium) and a 6800xt(1440p max). Smooth experience all around with a built in resolution scaler to squeeze out any performance while actually remaining pretty decent looking.

Overall thoughts: Despite my small gripes here and there. Halo Infinite obviously does have a promising future. The foundation here is better than most games of the type. Especially in the top for GaaS titles. First seasons in most games like this tend to suck from a content and even idea perspective. This one is not so different in that sense. However the core of this game is so good that it hooks you and it is hard to let go.

Punch is clicking down on the right stick - at least on my configuration. You should be able to set that to whatever button you want though.
Haven't tried to create my own game modes, but I'm sure others can help you on that.

4v4 became the main standard with halo 3 going forward (except reach when it was 5v5)

Haven't been able to load into a map on PC. Loads the map then crashes out to windows right when the match is supposed to start. Did that 3 or 4 times and lowered all the settings, but now it says "user banned" when I try to start multiplayer. Guess I'm all done for a while.

This game is fucking incredible and the hype and interest is on a whole other level.

We had 12 people from my work all on it tonight, that has never happened in the history of us playing games. A few dropped out after a few hours due to early starts tomorrow and we ended on 4 v 4 custom games and the vibe was just pure magic. Roaring laughter tight 50 vs 48 scoring games, screaming etc.

343i have fucking nailed it and as a long time halo fan This multiplayer is unmatched!

These guys are battlefield and cod fans too and never really played halo.

On another note, I notice a lack of Weapon skins, I have the Monster Promo ones (I actually really like these) and have seen some of the Nerf ones on other players (its making me wanna get those, same as when i theme my Destiny guns around Nerf as a joke)

Didn't play 4v4 objective in past Halos more of a swat and firefight guy im enjoying the hell out of them. Swat is going to be phenomenal.
