is on perm warning for being a low level troll
The added career mode in GT Sport was more what I wanted out of this than the Café mode TBH. It was over before I knew it, and I was still convinced the actual game where you had to win races to unlock more races was going to start.

But I already had everything unlocked and there's no in-game incentive to keep playing? I haven't even raced in Pagani's or Zonda's or Formula cars. Also why are the higher tier licenses even there if they are not required. This is what makes GT for me, and while I love everything else, career mode sucks. Again. While press coverage called this a return to form? I wonder if they actually played until the credits.

I really like this game but.... BUT like other players I am getting kind of tired of rolling starts starting at the back. It's not real racing. It's basically a time trial with traffic on the track.

Now online, that's what a real race is. Every driver going for the win, instead of coasting and just driving for the sole purpose of being overtaken.

Quick impressions after a little over a week from someone who never got into a racing game in years (except for Mario Kart).

1) The driving feels great, and the used sales, new sales and tuning shop are a blast too.
2) It looks and sounds amazing.
3) The advanced tuning options in the garage are intimidating. I'm gonna hold off a little bit until I can dedicate time to get a good grip on how adjustments play out on tracks.
4) My progression is going slower than expected due to a ridiculous amount of unexpected competition for gaming time. But I am still progressing because its easy to get into it even for just a half hour at a time. This will definitely be one of the perennial games that I keep coming back to for a long time.
5) Only complaint so far is the menu system on world map. I feel like other games load their entire game in almost the same amount of time as it takes to back out of one menu option and into another on the world map.

The lotto tickets in this game are infuriating - don't represent it as random when it's definitely not random. I "win" the worst prize in the lotto 90% of the time.

Yeah the ticket system fucking sucks. The only car I've won from it in 30+ hours of gameplay is a Toyota Tundra. Every now and then I will get a car part for a vehicle I dont own, but the rest of the time I get the lowest money prize.

Only for old timers.

Kiss you goodbye is in the game! It was my favourite music from the first japanese GT I played back then.

Nostalgia overload.

I was really excited to see daily race C being back with the Group 3 cars, and then I saw it was open tuning without BOP.

Just why.

I love that it's added, because it happens IRL as well.
yeah is great, this game, and the weather conditions, there will be so many great online set ups

So i could adjust some settings but not tune the car?
yeah pretty much, everyone has the same weight and things like that

thats what made gts great, pretty easy to pick up online

Could you please explain! I don't know what this means...

In GT Sport all of the races were based around balance of play, so all the cars in a particular category would perform similarly despite having different strengths and weaknesses. It's similar to what they do with the regulations in real life GT3 racing. Ultimately what it means is that it allows for close racing where outcomes are determined by driver skill rather than who has the better tune or car.

With open tuning it's now a completely different ball game and it comes down to who can be fucked to spend time tuning. And not only that, you need the best car as well before you even start tuning.

Still absolutely love it.....

But I do feel its easier to drive and the physics are a little more forgiving than something like ACC. I have all the assists off and I'm pulling off things I never should have been able to do.

Still playing on beginner difficulty. I think I'm ready to move up a peg on that front, but only if the intermediate difficulty lets me keep the yellow suggested pathway line and the red lines to recommend braking. I'll eventually be ready to take those training wheels off, but not for a while. I don't think I'll be "gud enough" to keep close tabs on the map (and upcoming turns) for a while longer.

Because the MTX don't effect how the game progresses in any way. If it did, I would agree with you.
How do you know that?

The only way to determine that for certain would be to live in a timeline where MTXs weren't a reality, then we could contrast one design game absent their considerations against one with. I think it's exceptionally naïve to believe the incentive towards monetization doesn't affect the game's design in any way. Of course it does. Why can't cars now be sold, for example, when they previously could be? If you want to continually try to convince yourself that the balance of credit allocation alongside tweaks to the game's economy hasn't been tailored to be conducive to monetary gain, go ahead, but I think you're living in outright delusion.
