Three rumours?
Hope it's a FromSoftware acquisition!

Highly unlikely. From is owned by Kadokawa, of which both Tencent and Sony have minority stakes in. Tencent owns 6.8%, Sony 2%. Even if Kadokawa wants to sell From, Tencent is going to have a say in that.

Im done thinking PS is gonna do something good.

Its gonna be PSplus added with PSnow. Nothing extra, no PS1/PS2 games, its gonna be all streaming and no day 1 titles.

And probably a purchase of a silly new studio no1 has heard of. And Jim will come and say thats all for our acquisitions for now

1. Spartacus reveal

2. VR2 Reveal

3. Massive Japanese publisher acquisition, my money is on either Square or Capcom
Legit PSVR/PSVR2 leakers mentioned they heard PSVR2 has been delayed to Q1 2023. So I wouldn't count with PSVR2.

My expectations:
I see Spartacus announcement with probably a dedicated State of Play who could also talk about PS5 Tournaments feature, EVO, more Discord integrations and maybe some additional upcoming OS stuff.

I see one or two acquisitions being announced: one could be a well known Japanese publisher or dev, the other would be a small dev for mobile or for VR that most people in gaf never heard of (as it is the case of ForwardWorks and Lasengle).

Maybe they could also announce some big exclusive or two to be released during the fiscal year that is going to start.

Reality:
"Goodbye Volcano High" focused 250 minutes State of Play that includes "We Are OFK" new trailer, a random chinese F2P game and Knack 3 by Team Asobi announcement trailer to close the show.

Sony does own two From developed IPs as well.

That they do, but it doesn't change anything unless Kadokawa wants to sell From. And with Tencent being a minority owner already, you can see that this wouldn't be an easy acquisition for Sony to make.

I don't watch or listen podcasts but that's such a weird name, I don't know why but it's cringe to me. Anyway, let's see if something g happens. If I could choose, I'd choose bloodborne remake or some good gamepass competition.

About the only Way I’d ever be excited for a Knack 3.
Well, the first two one were also developed by Japan Studio.

Btw if Hermen Hulst or anyone else from PS Studios reads Neogaf I just want to be clear that we often mention Knack 3 as a joke because we didn't like the first two, we'd prefer Team Asobi to work in something else: Gravitty Rush, Astro, Parappa, Loco Roco, Ape Escape or a new IP.

I think it is still soon:

Sony is still in talking to finalise the purchase of the studios
Sony has games to show but clearly they will only showcase is God of War

Spartacus is going to made it's debut

BennyBlanco

aka IMurRIVAL69
Bloodborne remaster for PS5/PC from Nixxes

We still don’t know what they’re doing

Acquisitions don’t leak btw

It's actually pretty clever, with the movie title and PS standing for PlayStation.
