As long as Putin is alive, they will not stop.
Russia is known for this. They will send conscripts, civilians, teens with swords, kids with baseball bats... whoever they can. But they will keep it up for years if they are not stopped

I understood that in terms of their war against Ukraine itself. But I actually meant Snake island where the video was shot; they’ve gotten hammered there over the last week and after 5 major vehicle losses they send one single troop helicopter when Ukraine has already shown they have air and anti-air capabilities in the area. It’s just a suicide run.

We really should be negotiating peace here, not fighting a proxy war with the hopes it would take Russia a long time to recover. Everyone loses in war.
It takes two parties who want to negotiate in earnest to negotiate a peace. The negotiations are only used as a stall tactic and Russia has done this in the past.

The chances for peace at this point are becoming slim to none and we need recognize the reality that’s been staring at us for a while now with Putin. There will be conflict and we will be involved either through proxy or directly.

Okay, let’s interrogate this idea properly.

Nuclear warheads are big. Even the smallest ones. To transport and fit one to a projectile is not the work of a moment.

Right now, Putin is well aware that his military sites are being closely watched by satellite technology. And he can’t be 100% sure that if he calls for a nuclear attack, the west won’t see what he’s up to before he can get it launched. He will be terrified that any movement in that direction results in a cruise missile up his arse.

And Putin wants to live and stay rich more than anything.

There won’t be a nuclear attack launched by Russia.
Based on my limited reading of several Putin biographies and some Russian/Eastern European history I don’t agree with some of your statements. There would be quite a bit to write, so I’ll just agree to disagree and hope you are right.

Just horrible stories. Anybody saying that sanctions should be lifted if Russia pulls back from Ukraine is an enabler of these horrors. I dont see a way back.

Another great topic explaining the demographic composition of Russian forces casualties. And the ramifications of this on various aspects of the society like racism inside Russia, why you don't see protests in big cities, heavy support of the invasion in the city centres even with heavy losses, etc.

All according to plan.
Some shit hasn't changed over a century. I mean most of humanity has improved but Russia is sticking to their horrific playbook.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky released a video statement on May 8, the UN’s designated “Time of Remembrance and Reconciliation for Those Who Lost Their Lives During the Second World War,” in which he reflected on the phrase “never again”.

I hope that at some point in the future historians can write on what the fuck is going on with the clownshow that is the Russian campaign which would be funny if it was not killing so many.

The way I see it some big brain, maybe Shoigu, saw that dot in the sea, drew a 300km circle around it for S-400 SAM range and became obsessed with taking it and using it as a staging point to invade and link up with Transnistria. Typical for someone with no military background to think you can just create a fortress outpust as if in an RTS game.

"We'll take Snake Island and under the cover of the Moskva fortify it"
"We'll take Snake Island and land Tor SAM launchers to cover the build up"
"We'll take Snake Island and land Wagner spec ops by helicopter to cover the build up"

Denisova looks stricken as she gives examples, which she says keep her awake at night, such as a mother and two daughters aged 15 and 17 in Irpin. “They raped the mum for three days, then the 15-year-old, but told the 17-year-old they wouldn’t touch her because she was ugly. The mother and younger daughter eventually died of their injuries and the 17-year-old was left locked up in cellar for three days with their bodies.”
Nor was it just women. “One of the most terrible stories I heard was of an 11-year-old boy who was raped by Russians for ten hours in front of his mum, who was tied to a chair. He didn’t speak for a month.”
Many of the rapes were gang rapes and there are cases where girls aged 14 to 16 have been left pregnant. Among them was a 14-year-old raped by three Russians in front of her mother, whose doctor has advised against abortion, arguing that it might affect her ability to have children later.

No words on Putin speech? I thought he was going to declare full global war this morning, that he would showcase nuclear weapons along with his "Doomsday plane" while making threats of all sorts.. at least this was the narrative where i live, a narrative that had me scared for days as i live right next to a NATO military base.

"The horror of a global war must not be repeated". This was stated by President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the parade for the day of victory over Nazis.

"In the West, apparently, they have decided to erase millennial values," he said from the gallery in Red Square before the military parade began, "such moral degradation has become the basis for cynical falsifications of the history of the Second World War, inciting the russophobia, praising the traitors, mocking the memory of the victims, erasing the courage of those who won the victory"

We are negotiating for peace all the time, by making it obvious to Moscow this war will make Russia a ruin and international pariah. So far they don't seem to get the message.

Yeah, didn't want to bother because it's always the same crazy rhetoric from that idiot. It's obviously the fault of the West for all the Russians murdering, raping, looting, and torturing their way across Ukraine.

They should have Switchbladed Putin's idiotic face while he was giving that speech; that would have been hilarious. I'm only half-serious here.

Could the Russian waste Elon?

Get by with a little help from my friends. 🎶
While many of them seem self-interested he's got the money to enhance his own protection and investigators.
As long as his friends aren't friends with Russian agents his drinks will be fine.

Picturesque but also great camera work.
That smoking barrel, the flaming driver's hatch then the zoom out to see the stopped tracks among those gorgeous verdant springtime fields.
There's a timelessness to it. Interpretations can be drawn. Life as propaganda art.

The world needs that wheat, not that tank in that wheat field.

Well, no one has honestly thought they were serious, especially the Ukrainians.

NATO countries currently share a 754 mile long border with Russia.

Finland has a whopping 830 mile long border with them, so them joining NATO would more than DOUBLE the alliance's border with Russia to 1584+ miles

To say master strategist Putin made a mistake by invading Ukraine is an understatement...
