I see Ellie's still invisible to enemies and gameplay looks largely the same. I noticed some more complex level geometry here and there; I see the disheveled blinds, the ceiling tiles ajar, the texture work on railing and walls. Enemies are noticeably higher poly, you can see that during the grapple/holdup animation.

Think I saw her teleport as well, but they still did teleporting in lou2 as well so... not good, not terrible.

I'm taking a wait and see approach. I'm not on copium, cause I honestly don't love the TLoU series like I used to, but I'm very curious to see how this goes. A remake of TLoU1 with modern graphics and the 2nd game's gameplay sounds amazing, but if it doesn't have that then I don't see the point of this. So if the leaks are bullshit, then great. But if they aren't then I'll excited to watch the drama unfold.

Same here this is strange. That is not ND QUALITY standards. I remember for the last of us part 2 they said key people had left the company so the process to get at the right quality level took longer for those that were not as capable as the people that had left. But the end results are there in part 2. What is funny is the level of drama some people portray. If they behave like this in they everyday lives good god!

Hahaha so basically with the Clickers you have to either blast the shit out of their face with a rifle which is a one hit kill, or sneak around them. You can also craft a shiv, sneak up behind them and grab them from behind for a one hit stealth kill. Bricks and bottles will also stun them momentarily. You can't punch them with your hands or you'll be eaten immediately. Don't give up this time, this game is so worth playing, especially if you're a father.

I've been playing the Remaster and Factions quite a bit last weekend and yes, all movement, cadence, it really is more or less the same. I never expected prone or jump to be there but definitely some additional gameplay features.
I'm looking forward to playing it no matter what day one but I was really hoping for more than a fresh coat of paint.
We'll see.

Remakes are supposed to be reserved for games which involve things like this:

- An old game getting a total modernized look

- The writers/producers take an old game and adjust the story, map layouts, gameplay tweaks etc... Not saying it has to be dramatic like taking a Friday the 13th slasher and turning it into an F1 racing game. It's similar to the old game at a high level, but can basically be is own game as it's different enough in every way

Yes, we will see relatively soon. Certainly the lack of any gameplay + this leak seems quite damning. I'll be stunned if this leak is way off and the first to admit being wrong about it, but it'd be a first in terms of leaks of this nature.

I could see the most hardcore ND fans try to weasel out of it, saying something like; "It does have more accessibility, adaptive triggers and new audio mixing! And there is a very slight difference in aiming (or something like that) so all new gameplay too!" Though that is a huge stretch and clearly spin, some fans will probably try to make similar statements. But I hope most will see the truth about the remake, if these leaks end up being similar to the release version, which again I do think is highly likely.

I mean, and I am trying to be optimistic, it is possible that they have put in the option to play the game as the original and it defaults to TLOU2's changes?
If not, very very disappointing.

If this isnt an older build then ND should be embarrassed to call it a PS5 game let alone put their name on this PS4 title. These guys are the best studio in the industry. They cannot ship a game that looks like this and then boast about how they didnt work hard enough.

I paid $85 for this? TLOU is IMO the best game ever made but this looks exactly like TLOU. There is no visible improvement in the gameplay at all, and honestly it looks kind of awkward, like TLOU 2 graphics with TLOU 1 animations.

I hope they did not outright LIE about "Modernized gameplay" in the description because then I'll do a lot more than just ask for a refund...

Sony's way of making refunds require talking to staff even for a simple pre-order for something not released yet is stupid.

There are so many points that need to be addressed here: The hate-boner for ND after the Last of Us II controversy; The pricing, especially in light of the not-so-great differences...
The one that I have a real issue with, is how evasive and "ambiguous" ND statements have been about the improvements, creating a void that people have filled up with their own expectations. This is a noobie's mistake, honestly: That Jason guy leaked the title more than a year ago, so why the secrecy? Not for a sequel or an original IP, mind you...Not even for a reimagining...but for a simple update of an existing title. They should have released footage way before the internet adopted the prevailing narratives. Instead, they decided for a drip feed info strategy...

I guess the "game" and "enhanced combat" stem from how the controller feels when fighting, the Duelsense™

Free upgrade from what?

It's a remake. There is no last gen version to even upgrade from.

The next Factions multiplayer has since been expanded into a more ambitious standalone title rather than a MP add-on.

This...doesn't look good. Gameplay looks the same as the OG, Joel's animations don't even look more fleshed out like Ellie's in TLOU2, they just made the game look a lot shiner. Heck, the lighting looks really off to me...

"Enchanced Combat" could just mean alot of things going on under the hood to make it "feel" better, rather than a bunch of new mechanics/features.

Then of course there's the AI, which can't really be judged from those videos becuase of the lower difficulty setting, even Part II's AI looked dumb on lower settings.

Pretty damn unlikely. Would be strange since a remake already exists with TLOU-1 controls and generally TLOU-2 just brought improvements in terms of gameplay. Very few would prefer to play 'the original controls' and those who do already have a remake..

Not impossible but even if they did do it, I'm pretty sure they would have announced it already.
