I think there's a lot of us like that where this completely backfired. I wasn't even thinking of this game since I figured I wasn't part of the target demo(tweens and teens) and it wouldn't appeal to me. The outrage also got me to give it a look but I'm still hesitant. So pretty much I'm going to wait a month or 2 after the release to get around the reviews that are slanted in both directions and maybe if after that some reviewers that I trust say it's decent I'll get it. (I don't doubt a bunch of "game journalists" will mark it down because of politics but others will white knight it and give it a higher score than it deserves. After a month or 2 I figure like Last Jedi the real reviews will come out and we'll know if it's good or not. Oh for those not paying attention Last Jedi was garbage.)
There are previews out there already, doesn't seem like my type of game but tho, but I'm more of action and RPG type of games.

Unfortunately you are talking sense, which is not really allowed in this day and age, nor stating the bleeding obvious. The real issue is that people need to jump on a bandwagon, to feel in control and empowered. For some it’s the “be seen to be supporting trans“ .. and we can all see how vocal this activist group is. You can also guarantee that most of those who visit Era, will not be supportive of the ban there, but have to deal with having all their voices suppressed. It’s not just an individual voice, but the entire forum. Just think, the people behind the scenes feeling so empowered to push their doctrines in a community there for games. I mean, thats some fkd up shit right there. It’s nothing but activists believing they can “shape” society to their world view .. that’s why it’s always important to call this out if you have opposing views. I have no problem with the game, not a huge HP fan but I am going to buy it. I also have nothing against Trans. Just don’t push your doctrines onto me. But I'm also not mad at JK Rowling one bit. All she has ever said is that a biologically born woman (equipped with reproduction organs) IS a unique state from being a trans woman (that will never have those organs even after all the surgery)

And that would be crazy! Any rational person would think that's nuts. But to that small subset of people- no, Grizzly is definitely a woman because "they" say so. And ERA, taking things further and just straight up disallowing discourse about videogame, which contains NONE of these politics or any direct involvement of Rowling, is crazy, and it's also wrong. I'm glad to see the title gain support, have always been a fan of the Potter world, and can't wait to play it in a few weeks.

Probably the reverse, with themes of accepting people for their differences themes and judging people on their character not what they look like, like the books has. This game is such a dumb hill for the woke crowd to die on.
Its more than that, from what i read from old articles/interviews its actually a very curious scenario.
