The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is $70

Zelda: OoT was $59.99 25 years ago. $69.99 doesn’t seem so bad.

Or just preorder it from Amazon for $59.99. Problem solved!

In my country pizzas (Dominos, Pizzahut) were $4.99-$5.99 for literally 25 years, and only recently have they gone up. And even now they're still cheap (I think $12.95).

It's weird how some people feel inflation doesn't apply to their product/s of choice.

I liked the first game on WiiU ($49.99), but I'm not paying $70 for a 30fps Switch game. I'm 100% positive the game will be amazing and it will be both a critical and commercial hit, but I can wait forever for a better price, new or used, if need be.
Maybe 60fps on switch 2 whenever it comes out.

I'm quite used to this kind of websites for getting my PC games, but gotta be honest I never considered using them for anything else let alone Switch games.

So yeah, thanks! I'll make sure to check those out once the game is closer to being released, might get lucky and snatch a key at a lower price.
You can even use it for xbox games too.
I am planning on getting cheap games that way, since Xbox is going digital soon.

So that means $10 more than the average game. If the game is really good, as it should be, I wouldn't mind paying $70 for it. You'll probably get your money's worth.

People keep on saying OoT cost 60$, but lets not forget OoT was a technological marvel at the time, its world size and graphics blows everything both PS1 and Saturn had to offer out of water in the same year. The new Zelda, Not so much

Unless you are shareholder, no reason to root for this greed, the budget they spend to make the game makes no excuse to charge that much

Gross. I would have understood at least somewhat if this was their new hardware, but on Switch? What a joke.

Preordered on Amazon to lock in the $60 price because I loved the first, but moving forward I won't be buying many games day 1 if this is their new standard price. Of course, their games NEVER drop, so I'll be waiting a long time for my next Mario fix, that or buying those stupid vouchers.

Nintendo won't even feel the pinch of the few who bow out at buying $70 games, and they'll laugh all the way to the bank once Pokemon Half and Pokemon Assed do 30+ million at the elevated price point. That's life though.

I'm surprised they couldn't keep it down and wait for the Switch 2 to come out first. But honestly, if you were fine with paying 60 bucks for Switch-fidelity games - and the 20 million weirdos who bought the technical low of Pokemon games where more than fine with it - whining about 70 is arbitrary.

Ultimately though, price increases are a natural thing, and as has been demonstrated numerous times at this point, most consumers understand that. Why it becomes such a big discussion on supposed enthusiast forums is beyond me. You can kiss 15 year intervals without a price bump goodbye.

If you listened to some of the geniuses here and elsewhere before Nintendo/Xbox jumped in, you'd know that technically advanced games don't deserve higher prices either.

70$ for what is basically a PS4 game in terms of graphics, image quality and performance, lol.
Erm, more like 360+. Doesn't really change the quality of the game, but you'll have to wait for their next hardware if you want to see something in the realm of a portable PS4.

NOTE: Nobody quote that 1TF number for the Switch's GPU please, that was at half precision and full clocks, which the Switch doesn't use. Even docked, the Switch is about 1/3 of the Xbox 1.

MS proved that people would pay to play online using peer to peer connections and Sony followed.

Sony proved people will pay 70$ for games so Microsoft and Nintendo followed.

Don't blame Nintendo for what the market decided.

Nintendo were very confident with BotW, they gave it its own E3, the trailer at the end of their show was GOAT, if they are confident with TotK to do the same $70 is not stopping anyone.

Unless I had to post a "look what was delivered 3 days ahead of its release by the kind UPS man" reddit/twitter thread, why would I buy a Switch game?
