Waiting for the digital deluxe edition to unlock. I don’t think the new costumes are “great”, but I like to have options and it just hit a level of absurd that I had to have them.
Somehow I missed that they had been showed till today. I didn’t know if it was an early unlock thing or if they were exclusive to that edition for now.

I've moved beyond the areas with rain, sorry. But I can tell you that it's nowhere near as heavy as the first batch of game play clips, where it looked like San Andreas.
It's more like how the rain is in the opening segments of RE2 remake. Not a visual hindrance at all.

No worries. I will see it soon enough. The lighting of the old rain was weird, but I would expect heavy rain to be a visual hindrance.

Just a little pro tip. When using the knife to finish off downed enemies (not the contextual RT to insta kill ones), use LB/L1 to aim the knife then hit RT to use. It's much faster than just the wild RT swings. You can also upgrade the knife damage in the final game and make each swipe about as strong as a bullet from the starting handgun.

well if the trick works it would be in roughly 9 to 10 hours.
but that is only if it is indeed a midnight unlock and not a globally synced up timer.

The knife appears stronger or a lot more useful than it ever has. Do you stagger enemies faster when the knife gets upgraded? The glorious knife runs of RE brings back memories.

There's no stagger modification, but you can sure as hell knife them to death a lot faster.
Knifing the knees DOES tend to make enemies stagger after a few hits, but it's not recommended cause you're leaving yourself to be grabbed.
I wish the herbs and crafting material did not take space in your main inventory and was relegated to a separate infinite inventory like Village. I'm mostly just playing with 1 weapon in my active inventory but I bet people who like to juggle 3, 4 weapons will be doing inventory juggling extremely frequently.

Probably has something to do with the protagonist not being allowed to be cut up or something. In either way its wack, the insta chainsaw decap is iconic and a big part of RE4.
The sheer terror of chainsaw man will never be maintained in the new game. No coop insta decap if you get to close and dont get him off you.

I know they changed the game, im fine with that. Im not that fine with removing iconic scenes. I think the merchant VO is lame. I think no chainsaw decapitations are lame. The gore is only on the ganado parts.. Leon himself doesnt get cut up in any visible way. In the demo when dr Salvador chainsaws you, there is blood but no gore at all.
It does have to be campy because thats half of the OG charm. On one hand it takes itself seriously, but on the other hand its fun and campy (which is why the bingo line is so good).
Im not saying the game will be bad, I dont think so. The game will still be awesome but it will not be as great as OG RE4.

I'm not saying it's all perfect, I for one am annoyed with Capcom cutting U3 from the main game as I was so excited to see how they handled the horror aspect, but the amount of content cut isn't that severe and most of the content cut are things that many won't miss.

The only thing I would maybe miss is the u3 boss fight but I dislike that section anyway. If youre so fed up just skip the game.
You don't need lasers on all weapons, that only happened because it was a whole new way to play RE, in 2023 its not needed.
90%+ of people won't miss QTE's
Ashley dying was frustrating and they also removed the dumpsters, so if you can't hide her and she can die the whole game would feel like a chore.
Dont even remember the tram ride
Doors crumbling like old ass crackers from a handgun shot always felt jarring to me, maybe if they couldve kept it for higher damage weapons but its no big deal.

Invisible insectoids were forgettable and annoying more than anything

TL;DR easy trade in exchange for better graphics, controls and new content. I'm sure theyll add mercenaries and the Ada stuff as DLC. Hell, separate ways wasnt on the gamecube to begin with.
P.S: that was my first time watching that yahtzee guy and hes annoying as hell, will certainly be the last time.

I remember the U3 boss. But I had to look it up. Its the container boss. It was kind of okay.
For the rest I hated the tram ride (its the gondola?), the underground rooms, gatling gun room, the laser room (as I hate QTE's), the bulldozer segment was another horrible part as was the mine cart. I generally didn't enjoy a huge portion of the last third and pretty much no single on-rail section in this game. The castle overstayed its welcome and the island was questionable in total. Stuff like the spinning blade vehicle idk.
The fact you don't need to waste herbs on Ashley and she can't die is a god send imho.
As for Separate Ways, its expected. Its rather meaty (its bigger than Shadows of Rose) and you'll never get content like this for free nowadays. Though back in the day it wasn't free either. It came with the PS2 version almost one year after the GC version, which was sold at full buck. For Mercs and Assignments to be left out as DLC there is no real excuse though.
