Dlss? Or do you mean fsr?

3070 should be able to do 60 fps at 1440p high. I’m running all epic settings. Also wait till you get to the open world level. Thats where the cpu bottleneck really rears its ugly head.

This game isn’t a vram hog like tlou was.
oh fsr yes. i had to use that shit. too ghosty. im too used to dlss as upscaling sorry

,my problem is this dude's video and several other videos on the net

40 fps cpu bound at medium settings?

i get this at the same place at high settings:

weird stuff. i'll get back to ya once i hit the open world or something

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
Plays great on my z13 flow with a 4070 but I do notice some hitching. I'd be pissed if I was using high end shit and getting same issues but since its a laptop its ok. Hope patches come quickly for my Desktop cohorts.

Not bad for a gtx 1060.

His description is wrong.

lmao game runs fine on my craptastic 2700+ 3070 once again xd 4k dlss balanced + high preset. no ram or vram problems on 16 gb ram / 8 gb vram

there are streaming related stutters similar to 1st game though

SlimySnake SlimySnake do u think im blessed or smthn.

i mean i do get around 38-45 fps cpu bound. but I expected worse. my performance cpu bound seems to match sx/ps5 in general (just a tad bit slower maybe)

i disabled smt too btw a healthy %10-15 boost. game doesnt care about smt and high core counts lol

The game IS playable on low end hardware

This is very respectable, a 1060 getting ~30 fps high settings at 1080p in 2023 is unexpected.

But THAT is specifically the problem this game has. It's not scaling with GPU at all.

its cpu bound though, %80 gpu usage
maybe its ddr4 bandwidth bottlenecked, who knows xd
Yeah definitely. I was getting 75% gpu utilization in some areas and 99% in others. I just think a last Gen 4.5 tflops gpu like 1060 doing 30+ fps is pretty decent.

thats another thing (yes actually is very good!) 1060 is a... survivor. it endures. pascal... and to some extent maxwell. great products. aged like wine one might say

It's not ridiculous.. It's insane!
You know this is why for YEARS i put off pc gaming. Ive always been a console gamer but also want to play mybhames where they look/perform the best. Ive never been impressed by pc ports of especially the newest console gens, even in the past, but now with my rig and specs i still have to buy console versions. Wtf is up with pc? the cost for the powerful hardware to be exposed to stuttering unoptimized messes is unacceptable.

Thanks for the hilarious title change mods!

From the OT. For once, I am glad my PC doesnt make the game look like complete trash in the 60 fps mode.

well where dlss :/ 4k dlss perf would be great for me

even fsr quality seems off. I will give 40 fps native 4k a try lol but afraid of running into vram problems. dlss perf at 4k can reduce vram pressure immensely. but fsr performance is downright unusable

such a dogshit move by amd or dev or whoever decides this

Yeah. Fsr is really bad in this game. Turn it off and try native 1440p. There is some shimmering but if you can ignore it, there IQ will be much better than fsr quality at 4k.

Sorry if it's been asked before, I haven't read through the entire thread.

Is anyone else getting "optimizing files" EVERY time they start the game?

So in the end pc version isn't that bad and console versions aren't that good lol.
Seems like a good deal to get 1 month of ea play pro just for this and dead space if i was on a rush to play these games.

4 GB to 8 GB VRAM target is mid-gen PS4 Pro / Xbox One X target. GTX 970's 3.5 GB VRAM + 0.5 GB fake VRAM is soured milk.

History is not your strong point.

I use my eyes. When a game uses around 8GB of Vram and the textures look like a PS2 game while doing it, and other games fit in 6GB and look FAR better, what do you call it?

Sight is not your strong point.

Or if it's done incompetently on PC. Don't we have a bunch of next-gen games that look and run much better than this? A Plague Tale: Requiem, FS 2020, Returnal (a port of a PS5 game), Dead Space Remake. Even Forspoken which admittedly looks bad, still runs much better on PC. But the moment we have a game that performs horribly on PC, hur hur, I/O secret sauce.
Wait, was Dead Space Remake good on PC? The podcast I listen to said it was a disaster on PC.

i noticed a weird bug btw. dunno how it happened but while changing presets, going to low makes the game use %50 res scale in ini files (and no in game option to change it). you need to set your preset back to epic and then tune accordingly to get %100 scale back

just FYI in case you get weird blurry resolution image and cant figure out why xd

thankfully ea vram usage also gets reduced after a certain time of idleness

It was perfect for me, I had absolutely no issues whatsoever. I think the majority were fine, at least AFAIK.

I think the last, and most recent extremely borked PC port that I know of was Wild Hearts. Before that Calisto Protocol.

So my RTX 3070 is already obsolete for 1080p (cause I simply don't have a 1440p monitor) with these shitty ports, rofl. Unbelievable.

It's crazy when increasing resolution also increases performance. That's the experience I've often been having with the 4090.
Just turn off RT. RT has a big impact on both the CPU and VRAM. VRAM on a 4090 shouldnt be an issue but the CPU will hold it back.

The game is already CPU bound without RT, RT is just making things worse. It's a shame because we all bought nvidia cards for their RT performance, but just like with Gotham Knights, Hogwarts and RE4, ive found myself disabling RT to get the performance I expect out of my 3080.

nah the 3070 is fine in this game

4k fsr balanced , im getting good gpu bound performance + relatively ease vram usage

1440p should be a cakewalk

cpu boundness doesn't help either... well whatever. them games for consoles will be designed for rasterization based lighting anyways. i wont give up on my gpu

I reached Koboh, in the first area the game ran at 100-120 fps. A couple of times a bit lower, a couple of times higher. Frame pacing was very good.
Then I got to the valley where is the town. Performance went to 80s on a very wide view.
While traversing there were a few moments where it dipped into the 60s. From the frame time graph it looked like it was streaming assets on these couple of moments.
Still, performance is good enough. Just hope some new patches might help reach 100 fps constantly.

Second area benchmarks. This is the open world level. 50-60 fps but can drop to the 40s. At 1440p epic settings.

One of the reasons I tend to play single player games on consoles. I just want to sit back, relax, and enjoy the game. In terms of competitive or casual shooters I play them on PC. This performance of this game is utterly unacceptable on PC, unreal.

or wait for them to hit gamepass. I was tempted to do it, but I already convinced myself to wait for some patches and started Ghostwire Tokyo as my bridge to Zelda game.

I haven't played this game, I just sort of ended up in here. That does help in a lot of cases though.

It was fine besides traversal stutters between transition areas. Are you thinking of Callisto Protocol perhaps?
I must have been thinking about Callisto Protocol. Thanks for clearing things up!

Honestly from my end it looks a lot better than a lot of PS4 games. But reviewers have said the amount of stuff in the game itself makes it "feel" bigger than a PS4/XB1 game. I'm only on the second world, so I'm not sure yet myself when it comes to content. But I'm loving what I'm playing.

Nowhere near as bad, have you seen the performance on a fucking 4090? That card starts at $1599 MSRP! Like I said un-acceptable and I hope it hurts their sales overall and idiots need to stop buying these broken ass games on launch.

Oh it’s a disaster, and not worth the money on any platform. I agree that people need to stop buying these AAA games at launch. They’re essentially early access with a $70 price tag.

One tip to improve image quality on pc guys

If you use DLDSR along with FSR, you get the same performance but with better IQ, more sharp and less aliasing

Try it because it's worth it
