I wonder what Nintendo will make of all this.

Two things are for certain, they will now be closely monitoring the activity regarding their stock, and secondly they might be looking at that Activision deal in a different light.

Man if Activision isn't on Nintendo or Sony, they've effectively made them worth less than half what they bought them for.

I remember rumors of MS buying Nintendo back in the GameCube/Xbox days. MS ended up buying Rare. They had their best chance of buying out Nintendo back then. The company is a whole different animal today financially.

Microsoft have been doing a piss-poor job of managing the Xbox brand since the launch of Xbox One in my opinion so goodness' only knows what kind of mess they would make of Nintendo if they ever managed to acquire them.
