I think I'm probably good skipping this one entirely or waiting for a sale at least. I'm sure it'll be fine. Just looks like more of what you would expect.

I think in many cases the end result is not as successful as it was planned to be. Expanding or changing the roster of playable characters can feel very forced and can be risky, because you stand a chance of losing your core audience if you go too far with the changes.
Like the case of Alan Wake 2 with Alan having much less playable content than Saga. It's more likely some existing fans skipped the game because of not getting what they wanted rather than new customers showed up to be able to play as a new female character. Gears 4 also got a cold reception after getting rid of the old guys and introducing a very bland new squad.
In my opinion a well-written character can appeal to a wide group of people and it doesn't matter if it represents your sex or ethnicity. Trying to offer a choice at all costs (like female or male Eivor in AC Valhalla) can hurt the overall experience or make it less special.

Really smart to have another playable character since that will break up the monotony of melee combat and open things up for the X-Men game with established gameplay.
All they have to do for X-Men is up the polygon count and add more playable characters.

6. Colossus
7. Nightcrawler

9. Angel
10. Iceman
11. Banshee
12. Storm
You obviously don't have to create each and every character, but the potential for an X-Men game is leaps and bounds beyond pretty much every other marvel property and some of these characters are easy to make, while some are going to be challenging.
If the game is on PS6 making it multiplayer makes a lot of sense too.

Clearly... I love Sony 3rd parties and 1st party to some extend but it starts to look like all the same, God of War, Horizon, etc, 3rd person with action combats... It's not that it is bad, it is actually pretty good, but it's just always the same.
For exemple the success of the Resident Evil and FF series is because they always renew their gameplay time to time, RE1/2/3 is the same genre, then there's a "half half" RE which is Code Veronica (half new half old), then 4/5 which are similar, 6 which takes gameplay ideas from all the past RE series (which makes it a pretty weird episode, but interesting), then RE7/8. That's why people are still excited/looking forward to it.
God of War 1/2/3/Ascencions were the same (+ 2 PSP episodes), people started to be bored about that vision... Then God Of War 2018 and Ragnarok.

It’s cool that we get access to these micro clips I’ll be honest. Motion capture and the hours spent on it are probably half of the budget of these titles.
Sony needs to dial back on this and look at Nintendo and From Software for inspiration. Who am I kidding.

Just because other games use forced diversity doesn’t mean it should be in every damn game especially for more known franchises like in this case or in the spider-man games. Were people buy those games to play as the character the game is about.

This game is in development, early development at that. It's 2-3 years away from release and NONE of this footage is supposed to be shown to the public. This is what games in development look like, they are rough, they arent supposed to be in any way what the final game will look/play like. All leaks do is totally damage what is being built, its sickening to be honest.

I appreciate the massive leak. Informs players on whether or not the game is worth buying. Could be interesting if the gameplay loop is good to warrant consecutive playthroughs.
This information gives a very good idea on what the game format is like.
Story however is underwhelming and seems like a Wolverine reboot. I'd prefer the OG Wolverine from the comics and not this Wolverine/Jean Grey fanfiction.

Sony need some more variety. A FPS, an RPG to rival Elder Scrolls, a SIM game, a RTS........just roll back on the TP action games, please!
