A spinoff would be good, just for another hour of the week having (possibly) great television.

They'd have to either have the machine add another admin (to send phone messages) so the new team can work, or explain that Harold calls them with new numbers to work on.

But then, I'd just like them to be on the show, to double the size of the main team.

But odds are, they're increasing the size of the cast in anticipation for...

reading a blog about the episode, said something that now makes sense. The premise is very similar to the movie "Wanted" Just minus all the fake nonsense like bending bullets, jumping from skyscraper to skyscraper, and future-telling Yarn.

A person/code is given, an assassin is sent to dispose of this person (for the safety of the public).

Something I don't think I've seen mentioned, in the last episode, when it does the cut from a scene with a collage of images, many of the squares are now red instead of white. Could this suggest the uploaded program is making the machine see many people as a threat? And maybe this could cause it to launch it's own countermeasures when the perceived threat gets too big?

It's absolutely possible but I think the reason why the targets were red was because we got the first glimpse of the relevant machine functions. It's possible it has determined these areas/persons of interest (i know) should be treated as threats.

I guess we'll know more when the next episode airs.

Man I miss this show, I've been so outta the loop (last episode I saw was ep 3) that I've decided to wait until the Blu-Ray releases and just admire the rest of the season in the best quality lol.

Yeah, who knows if the Machine (well, our POV of it's POV) has 2 separate GUI's, for Relevant and Irrelevant.

i think in the beginning of the episode it says something like "switching mode to: relevant" or something similar. so I guess it has to do with the relevant list

some things that caught my attention:

- a lot of new music tracks (not licenced) this episode. Some cool variations of the machine theme and maybe something that could be shaws theme

- I believe that the phones used this episode were mainly Nokia Lumias (without windows phone). Liked that, since I love lumia!

- Is this the first time reese and finch were not able to save the PoI on screen? (shaws partner) I think that before they always were able to save the PoI(s) but this time they failed. I wish they made a bigger deal out of that.

Sarah Shahi is so damn beautiful...

God damn, this was one of the best episodes of the show, and that's saying a lot.

From the opening sequence I could clearly see that the camerawork, characters and incredible tensions are on ANOTHER LEVEL, and I found out that J.Nolan was responsible for it only after I finished watching. Sarah was sooooo bad ass, but those kneecaped people on the streets take the cake. :D

Amazing episode.

theres been past episodes. one example off the top of my head is season 1 episode where 2 of the 4 people that found the stolen money from some politicians scheme got killed, one in a bomb in front of finch

There was the episode this season where they thought the journalist/reporter was the victim, but she turned out to be the perpetrator and accidentally got somebody else killed. Of course then she ended up a victim as well, so not sure if that counts.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
It's impressive that you can make a good episode without featuring the main cast for 80% of it. More people need to see this show.

I disliked this episode because the journalist was by no means a perpetrator. she was the cause for the death of that guy, but she never had the intention, so the machine should not have been able to pick up on that, right?

loved this! I am sure some people might be irritated, but this episode was so special and fresh because of that

Shaw is an excellent character, she could totally carry her own show. I've never really enjoyed episodes where they didn't feature the main cast (Lost, Walking Dead), but this episode is totally an exception.

I'm amazed this show has been able to keep up the quality it has.

I know there wasn't talk of it but this totally turned out to be the best backdoor pilot I have ever seen even if they didn't try to make one

I have to admit that I was a bit let down to have very little of the main cast in the episode. But mostly because of no episode next week.

Not seeing how Shaw's a "deep" character, off of this episode. Bad Ass Killer, yeah, but she herself says she has no emotion over what she does. A Female version of Hersch, who's now a free agent.

Future Episodes are where she'll develop, I know. She's a lock to reappear, way more than Leon's and Zoe's original episodes.

The episode, to me, was more about seeing the other side of The Machine, action pieces, and what it feels like for POI's to experience "Reese out of nowhere" with no knowledge of them (and our POV of having no knowledge of what John and Harold are doing to investigate their number).

Come here Root, bwoi! / Come here Root, bwoi! Can you iron it up

Prolly my fave ep so far. I had a feeling i remember having when i watched Lost's "The other 48 days" back in the day.

This. Motherfucking. Show. I fucking loved this episode. When you can pull off an amazing episode without having any of the main characters in it for most of it, that is fucking amazing. Plus, loved Leon coming back! Love that dude. The actor's really likable. I loved Shaw. So badass and nuts... she's like Kara Stanton, but kinda more likable... more merciful and less kill-crazy. I seriously dig her. And Root came back! Hell yes. That scene with her and Shaw... damn. John getting shot on their first meeting was hilarious. And Harold going like "we can't keep up with you" was too funny.

Loved her in that dress in the end. She looks gorgeous.

THIS SHOW.

reading that wiki page for last night's episode, found out that the actor playing Wilson (Shaw's boss who tried to kill her), is married to the actress who played Kara Stanton.

Haha, seriously? This show is like love connection.

While I've got doubts on Shaw's morality being in line with Finch and John, she can hold her own against the likes of the John Reese's and Jack Bauer's of the TV World. She totally obliterated that one dude with the gas mask. Inside of 30 seconds, she throws a flashbang INSIDE his gas mask, then rides him out of a 2nd story window, uses him as a cushion for the fall, and then ends him with a couple bullets.

Dat Flashbang In the Mask trick, wow. Not sure I've seen that done on any other piece of film/television.

I fucking loved that. That may have been one of the most badass things ever.

I liked that they managed to make them feel mysterious, they switched to normal selfs only when Shawn wasn't around.

THey're skipping next week, that's why promos will be released later

Ah, I knew they were skipping a week, but the lack of promo is just downright cruel.

Anyway, such a great show. Such an amazing episode. I loved the ending scene,
seeing the whole "PoI team" working together
. It's so satisfactory to watch.

Were do you guys get the code translations? And if you know, how do you do it? I'd love to help.

I noticed that, why are they skipping next week?

Anyway, THAT EPISODE. Watched it twice in a row. It was that good. I just hope that they can keep this up throughout the entire series for like 3 more seasons.

I also hope that CBS doesn't take from their budget, that would be disheartening.

There's a team of code monkeys in my basement fueled by cocaine and coffee deciphering the clues. Also the POI wikia... but I'm not sure who is deciphering that. You guys call the number that Harold gave to Shaw? Apparently it goes to his voice mail.
