Sky Gamblers: Cold War is also out. More of the same with better graphics and different missions like gunning for a helicopter. Missiles are back though, so that's enough to make me like it more than Storm Raiders.

Did all three endings in Alpaca Evolution, I like how I accidentally left the "good ending" for last
(absorbing an Alpaca)
. I'll start the Alpaca Evolution Begins prequel now (two routes and four endings!), but still keep checking on the first one concurrently to try to get the rare evolutions.

I enjoy this app and keep posting about it but make no mistake, it's nonsensical with zero gameplay throughout (it's not trying to be anything but). It's also consistently hilarious.

For some reason I like having at least one weird/charming mobile game like this installed, where you feel compelled to check and just space out for a few seconds with zero effort (Tiny Tower, Alpaca). I wish SE would make All The Bravest free already, they seem to be really confident in that thing since it wasn't discounted even once yet.

They probably forgot all about it.

That wouldn't surprise me, lol. It's probably been a while since they hit the ceiling of people willing to pay $4 for it or who would want to spend anything in the horrible and randomized gachapon-style IAP.

It's a month or so delayed for iOS, no?

I'm not aware of any (new) delay.
At least on the official site they do not say anything and the iOS wallpapers have a 25-7-13 date, but I'm not that well informed about the game and admittedly we never saw a iPad video of the game yet.
We shall see.

Hmm, I'm mixed on Breach & Clear. First impressions are of a game with very high production values. Once I started playing though my opinion dropped. I like the fast paced, simplified Frozen Synapse style of play, but there are a number of issues. The inability to rewatch turns, no clock to time your moves, and the game hasn't completely lost its freemium heritage with plenty of consumable items (grenades, medpacks, lockpicks, ect) and gear that feels disconnected from the actual game.

For $2 it's fairly decent, there's still a lot to like and have fun with here. I checked the TA forums (gasp!) and the developers are quite active there. Maybe changes will come to improve B&C's shortcomings. However, with all the recent TBS games (and maybe Shadowrun next week?) it's hard to recommend B&C over those.

I have played through all 15 missions now at least once, there is potential here and the controls have improved oddly since the tutorial.

There is a bunch of stuff coming though, Hostage Rescue and Bomb Disposal modes are listed as coming soon for example.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
R Type in the stores. Was this available before? Is it a good port?

...Alpaca Evolution... ...rare evolutions...

Balls. I won't be putting this nonsense down any time soon then.

It's totally fucking pointless. I can't understand why I'm periodically firing it up. I have the prequel installed too. How does this stuff manage to get under your skin?

I don't know. It's actually pretty interesting based on how long I played.
It's the "toy line integration" thing I'm worried about.

The game is basically just a giant ad for the new PAC Man brand. On the front screen of the game is a direct link to the toy website, and right next to it is the premium items button. The game is entirely time based, so you don't die until you run out of time. However, you can add time to your clock so long as you have a clock item in your inventory, essentially letting you buy a high score. They also call the pellets COOKIES, why cookies? There's absolutely no challenge to the game, either, since only time kills you. The jump button only has one use, and it doesn't matter if you hold it down or just tape it you'll jump the same height and length every time. There is just no skill involved, at all. The game is pretty (except for the blurry mess of a background) and I love that they use the sound from PAC Man Championship Edition whenever you eat a ghost, but the game is just totally pointless.

How's the the Clash of Heroes port to ios? I remember it not being well received intially but it's currently .99 and I think im going to bite. Mcpixel is also .99, btw.

Has anyone tried Futuriduim? It's really fun. The one thing I learned is that I would not make a good X-Wing pilot lol. The "trench runs" in this game are varied and intense and the touch controls are perfect

The trailer makes the gameplay look a bit janky, the camera viewpoint especially.

So is Breach & Clear OP worthy? The gameplay didn't exacly grab me and the "omg it's the special forces yeeeeaah GUNS GUNS GUNS" moniker is very bland. Sure there are countless guns and mods to unlock but they don't seem to do much of a difference while playing, and you can barely see any visual difference either.

Honestly, yes, it's flawed but still really good compared to many iOS offerings.

#1 Top Strategy Game in the App Store
#6 Overall APP in the App Store!

Just got Futuridium and it's ... interesting, not sure if good yet. I like the idea, and the visuals are purdy but the controls are quite odd and I keep turning around by accident when I'm trying to fire. It also feels a little slow in the flying which is annoying because when you die it puts you quite far from the playing field and you have to slowly fly back while a timer counts down. Will give it some more time to see if there's something good in there, but I can't recommend it yet.

I'm done playing Jetpack Joyride, can't believe people are mad about the IAP and advertising. Took me around 10 hours to complete all the achievements, hardly unethical.

Well, I'm missing the Hippie achievement because it requires a jetpack that's no longer in the game, which I find incredibly inconsiderate to people suffering from OCD, so I guess Halfbrick are unethical after all.

Some jetpacks are going on cycles now.

And that supposedly terrible Contra port is #1 overall, and Life is the #1 board game, and Candy Crush the #1 grossing app... :) Two years ago or even a year ago I think I'd be much more impressed by B&C, but today there are a number of better games I'd rather play. I'm not saying it isn't op worthy, but at this point it won't be making my "best of" list.

For 99 cents it's a steal. A few of the issues were fixed since release, but even though the CoH port still isn't perfect it's a great game.

Meh, I think B&C is more worthy than most of the games in the OP right now for at least having some ambition, but it's not my call. It's far better then Iesabel for example, which is a broken hot mess right now.
