Breach & Clear looks quite similar to frozen synapse. Any impressions on how it runs on older devices?

Edit: just read this on the store site
*** Due to exceptional graphical fidelity, Breach & Clear does not support iPod 4. ***
it's a bit weird since the ipod 4 is listed as compatible.

Just jailbreak folks if you need gba emulators so bad. it's literally a 1 click process these days.

Or was it 2?

Can't. SkyGo doesn't work if you're jb. :(
Doesn't Deus Ex also have messed up aim if played on a jb device? Maybe that one can be fixed somehow, but there's currently not going around SkyGO's restriction. Sucks, but I value my OnDemand/Sat on the go premium services too much to give 'em up.

Meh, I think B&C is more worthy than most of the games in the OP right now for at least having some ambition, but it's not my call. It's far better then Iesabel for example, which is a broken hot mess right now.
Have it on my todo list to add but I'm not near my PC today.

the game hasn't completely lost its freemium heritage with plenty of consumable items..
The consumable aspects of Breach & Clear are pretty minimal. You have to buy grenades, med packs, UAVs and such, but they're all reasonably priced. IIRC, frag grenades and flash bangs are about 40 to 60 silver, and med packs are under 100 as well -- I still don't know how rating factors into rewards, but I routinely get about 600 silver per completed mission, so I haven't run into any instances where I am out of cash.

Regarding buying weapons: It's weird because every other weapon seems to have some disadvantages compared to the stock M4 you start out with (like, maybe an accuracy bonus, but a decrease in mobility or noise). And I have no idea how rate of fire factors into winning firefights. There's a lot of stuff left unexplained in B&C (did you know you can move at half speed versus normal speed? I'm assuming it gives you a reaction bonus, but I have no idea) but I like it a lot as a light tactical experience. No permadeath or any real tangible penalty for quitting a match or having a soldier go down in a mission as far as I can tell.

well... I guess you can always go find a psp go for cheap and use that as an emulator :)

How exactly is it broken? While it could use more performance optimization, I completed it just fine.

Well, I guess JJ doesn't take up a lot of space :)

Yup. New items drop every Friday. The half brick guy said a chunk of items are on a 22week schedule, so I think that means after half a year they'll all be up and then new ones will pop up every Friday.

Today was the Elvis head and body.

Once you own the item it's in your collection permanently.

LOL I'm better using my GB Micro/NDS/etc with my flashcart then (GBA collector here) :p
It's for the ease of always having an iOS device with me

***VLC for iOS is back on the store for free, go get it now in case they take it off again***

Cool, I have it already but this one's more up to date. Thanks for the heads up!

AVPlayerHD 4 life! Will try this to see if its any better though.

The best is Ace Player -green icon v.- NOT updated to remove DTSHD MA/DD True HD/DTS/AC3 decoders :p

I get that you can probably play B&C just fine without opting for IAP. It just feels disconnected like a F2P game. As was mentioned, the gear doesn't seem to do all that much, and the fact I have to keep re-buying grenades and such is annoying. Having to buy the "limited edition day-one golden gun" is an additional slap in the face.

Don't get me wrong, even with its limitations and issues overall I like Breach & Clear. I just don't think its chart position is a direct correlation to its quality:)

So I just started Tiny Thief on my iPhone 4S
. It's a nice looking game, but does it run a little choppy for anyone else? It's particularly noticeable anytime the camera pans. Not a deal breaker but annoying.

Been playing for the last two days. On vacation, got R6 Raven Shield on Steam waiting for me back home, but Breach and Clear has made the wait to get home so much easier and fun. This is an awesome game. I posted my concerns and comments on other pages (hard to see split group on small screen, certain features and tutorial unclear) but overall this is well worth the 1.99 (and I would have gladly paid the 3.99)

Getting my ass kicked on the harder difficulties, but definitely getting better. A lot of tactical depth in a bite sized package. I especially love the animations, how the unit stacks up at a door, how they change direction to face where you aimed them, how they peek out from behind cover. The touch controls are also very good. I actually prefer this waypoint over FS, because you select a node on the ground rather than having to be super precise

Very excited to see what comes next in this game and from Gun.

What I want to see added most is a video replay function, so I can watch my plan play out from beginning to end, switch to action camera, zoom in close, etc. Also needs a way to erase entire plan and set a new one.

According to the Facebook devs, Shadowrun Returns has already been submitted 10 days ago and awaiting approval....so they cannot guarantee it will be out the 25 but if not, it should be around that date (barring any catastrophes).

I'll admit last trailer picked up my interest.

“It’s a paid title[.] The game doesn’t suit the free-to-play revenue model, and I’m also not a great fan of the way free-to-play titles try to make money through in-game purchases or advertising.”

Can't fire if on a JB device. They released a patch to fix it no?

Is Shadowrun Returns universal?

Choo-choo!

Breach and Clear seems really awesome, but I could have sworn it was supposed to have async multiplayer, haha. So I'm kinda bummed right now.

How do I easily challenge a friend to a game in Frozen Synapse? The friends list only purpose seems to be seeing their score.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Bought and played KotR yesterday, first time. Fuck, it seems really good!

Hey guys I was at PAX Australia today and played some crabitron. It was excellent and I immediately purchased it when I got home, seems its on special for 99c at the moment and you guys should buy it!

It's iPad only unfortunately

Basically you control a giant space crabs claws by pinching your fingers overtop of them, seems incredibly solid. Made by two guys from south Australia give them some love.

Sorry i suck at links will try to edit some in later.

CRABITRON

Crabitron is crazy fun, and the boss battles are insane! I remember the devs doing sort of a reverse kickstarter for the thing. Do you know if the game ended up being profitable for them?

Completion 100% on both Alpaca Evolution and Begins. Many lols were had. Wish there were more rare forms in the prequel, maybe they'll come in an update like in the first one.

Begins had surprisingly good music, really liked the track that plays during the ruled path and the one from the ending. Plot was kind of... memorable too with
Ruler Alpaca's energy bursting out of its shell and giving birth to new alpacas after the final battle, while Peaceful Alpaca becomes the god you face in the original
.

Found a surprisingly good puzzle platformer that's totally under the radar

Bullet Train Hell - https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/bullet-train-hell/id550918290

The graphics aren't much to look at but the controls are tight and the game is challenging

If it wasn't for the positive impressions on TouchArcade, I would have never heard of this game. The first handful of levels are free, the full game is unlocked with a one time 1.99 purchase

Looks neat, the trailer shows an ouya version is coming, so I might just pick it up there.

Spoke to them today, sales in Australia have been pretty bad (They said they sold 6 copies yesterday 2 of which were my brother and I) However they said sales in America have picked up in response to the discount. Hoping they break even on this one it's really well made.

They have a post up on their "reverse kickstarter" page about PAX Australia and their current sales, not looking great though.

Starbase orion just released another big update that includes cloud processing for AI!

Seriously, best purchase I ever made on ios.

You can try the game out for free on Mac and PC - while it looks cool, the gameplay is really unexciting - just fly around in an awkward ship and shoot cubes. It's not Starfox at all... and this embarassing dubstep is really really bad... The game is neither a pure action game nor a puzzler.

Oh well, I am passing on the iOS version, unfortunately nothing interesting and I kinda hoped for fast paced, electronica flavoured shooter/racing game (I need my Wipeout fix :( )

EDIT:

Is Deus Ex after the update even bigger now?? If I have the app already on my iPhone can I put the updated one through iTunes? I have to delete shit just to make enough room for a stupid update, not fun.

KOTOR is damn awesome, i was worried about the quality of the port but I needn't have been, it controls great and it's every bit as good as I remember. I can't believe I just paid pennies for it when it was 40 odd quid when I originally picked it up for the xbox!

Playing this right now as well for the first time. REALLY good, the card game is AAA+

I just picked it up as well. I do wish there was a virtual stick though. I must have asked Carth what's on his mind at least 50 times when I was simply trying to look around or loot something instead.
