Mos Def should win for whatever song he has nominated. Of course he won't though, this is the fucking Grammys.

What is the difference between "Record of the Year" and "Song of the Year"? It looks like songs are nominated in both categories.

Best song on that list.

Kings of Leon - Use Somebody

Everything else is garbage. I can't believe they nominate that crap

For the record: I've been saying Use Somebody is the 2009 best song of the year.

If they are gonna use a Kings of Leon song on there, I much prefer, despite being overplayed "Notion".

I love U2, but No Line on the Horizon didn't have a truly successful single that I loved. I really liked Magnificent but it pretty much bombed.

Kings Of Leon should've been nominated for any of their 3 first albums, their 4th isn't as good those, by a bit too.

And it has a much more pedestrian sound, as opposed to that awesome dirty and gritty sound from before :/.

Somehow the Grammy's shock me with the shitty song of the year selection every.single.year.

Edit: Oh damn, the nominations for Album of the Year. Dear God.

Yea thats what I would say as well. Sex on Fire and Use Somebody came out by storm though and caught alot of attention so people know more about the 4th and previous.

What a joke.. AC/DC? U2?.. come on now.

The three best rock albums of the year aren't even on there:
Them Crooked Vultures, Horehound, Backspacer

I'd just like to point out. HTDAAB won album of the year back in 06, and this album is a lot better than that.

I disagree. City of Blinding Lights (especially live) beats anything on NLOTH

AC/DC put out a great album.

A bit overlong and samey (even more samey because it's overlong lol), but tons of great, rocking songs. And the best Brian Johnson has sounded in a long, long time.

I'm happy for Maxwell, since I don't believe that he's ever won a Grammy, even though this is his fourth album. Pretty Wings is a great song.

Don't care/don't know/don't care to know any other song or album on this list.

Record of the Year is for production work while Song of the Year is for writing.

Thanks for the heads up. Fixed.

Is it just me, or are the nominations even worse than most years? I love that Taylor got 8 total, but everything else is a joke.

That and Original of the Species, I agree.

But, No Line has far better guitar work and better production than the last 3 U2 albums.

I thought the grammys were for decent stuff while the MTV and AMAs were for crap?

I guess not?

Nope, they've pretty much always been horrible.

They're incredibly in love with U2, too. Not even their good albums. That crappy one in 2006 won 9 Grammy Awards

It's about the sales. Simple as that. The recording industry need their knights in shining armor.

Not hating either. I love U2.

If the world is just Qtip will win for best rap album. None of the other albums on that list come close.
